Of all the stuff to do in Vegas this by far was absolutely the best time we spent in Vegas !! My wife may not have really appreciated it the way I did she did appreciate the level of effort and skill that was involved.. And ya know why YOU ACTUALLY GET CLOSE ENOGH TO SEE THE SKILL AND DETAIL!! There is a lot to see there. I personally could have spent an hour on each exhibit. My wife well let's just say she is a really wonderful person to let me babble on about them. I think maybe she might have had her earbuds in but I digress. lol The staff there..... just wow. It may have been a little slow the day we were there. The staff however told us how we had just missed Steve and told us what projects he was on now. ( he has a welding course you can go to , we might come back for that ) They took the time to answer all my questions and like I said it may have been a little slow that day so it may have been easier to take the time. How they treated us was well the best we had been treated in Vegas .. did I mention you actually could get close enough to see the detail in these works of mechanical Genious ?? Well you can. Here however was the topper really for me. If you ever doubt the authenticity of these people after going there you can't. These people aren't your typical Vegas crowd. They really made us feel like we were at the local mechanical shop sitting in the lounge talking with the old guys. ( here's an idea Steve put in a dang coffee shop so all the old hot rod guys and welder guys have a place to meet. I will expect my own chair there ) They really made you feel like they invited you there. I know I'm rambling on but seriously this place didn't have thier hand out overcharging you and everyone expecting a 30% gratuity while being rude. This place may not be huge by square footage standards but the amount of stuff you can see and learn is off the charts. If you like cool stuff be sure to have a little more time to spend than you think you will need because it will draw you in and the next thing you know it's and hour and a half later and everyone is wanting something to drink because you left them sitting in an asphalt parking lot in Vegas in June with the car keys in your pocket. Also the reason for the refreshment store. And also the reason I forgot to buy a dang t shirt. Ahhh good thing I can order one. Absolutely a great experience!! Upon entry was offered a $5 self tour with photo/video capturing allowed... A signed waiver against possible injury is required... with around 10 rat rods plus other incidentals both inside and outside of the unit gives a chance for some great captures... a great selection of t shirts, hoodies, and stickers with welderup art and memorabilia... Carrie was spectacular upon entry to the garage...friendly and knowledgeable.. The other staff present were very helpful as well... My fav rat rod on display is the Cancer Car... a very touching tribute ... apparently Mr Darnell is prepping a new location some 40 miles north of Las Vegas... Ok, I'll admit...I'd never heard of this place or the show that features these awesome Rat Rods. However, I am sooooooo glad that this cool establishment was part of the Count's Kustom's Bus Tour we did in Las Vegas. In fact, we decided that we liked THIS place the best of all the stops we made on our tour! It really takes some ingenuity and skill and imagination to make weld together the masterful creations at Welder Up. It starts with that green Mad Max-type semi out front...so cool! Then you come in to the kinda-dark-yet-totally-awesome area that displays these amazing Rat Rods. My personal fave was the car they built for the child with cancer, that is covered in metal roses. I really cannot describe it; y'all have to go and see all these fantastic creations. Oh, and I need to find this show on TV and start watching it!! read more

I watch this show with my two sons (6 and 7) and were delighted to have the chance to go and see the cars and the shop in person. Even though the kids are younger, the staff was very nice, friendly, informative, entertaining, and welcoming on the tour we attended. It was a great highlight on our trip. My only regret is that I forgot to ask if they would do my 2017 jeep wrangler pro bono. Oh well. I hope to go back soon and hopefully they will extend the tour to a go fast feature. read more

so we were doing a counts custom tour and this place was actually on the tour we weren't familiar with them until we actually got to see them for the first time on the tour. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised their work is amazing they have some really rad cars. The staff was really nice one of the people on the tour actually got a picture with Steve who was busy working but stopped and was gracious enough to take a picture with them. If you're in Las Vegas and want to see something cool highly recommend stopping by this place. read more

I had questions regarding renting a Welder Up Rat Rod while in Vegas. I asked through the yelp app and got an answer promptly and professionally explaining that they're unable to rent their creations due to insurance constraints. (Makes sense but was worth a shot!) We just took the Welderup Tour on Friday 11.8 and were blown away! Steve did an amazing job of making the tour personal and making everyone feel included. He had so many fun stories and made the whole tour so much fun. He wasn't concerned with how long it was taking and didn't rush things at all. His family was so nice and so friendly as well as all the guys there too, Barber Dave, Julian "juice". At the end of the tour, there was even time spent meeting everyone individually, signing autographs and taking pictures! Steve's Aunt and Julian were there helping with photos and Julian even took a video of my husband talking to Steve all while he was signing his hat. Also, when we checked in we got bags that had a t-shirt and a few other fun Welderup swag goodies! All in all, we would take the tour again and again and would recommend anyone to book their tour now!! It was a pleasure spending our honeymoon at Welderup with everyone!! On April 23 my wife and I went for a behind the scenes tour with Steve Darnell and it was THE BEST car-related experience I've ever had as a "car guy." I was very impressed with the shop, the staff, the quality of the merchandise offered as souvenirs, and especially with Steve himself. I've met my share of celebrities and he was definitely the most down-to-earth "celebrity" I've ever met. A great tour and we both had a great time. I love cars. Whether it's classic muscle, exotic high performance, big obnoxious 4x4s or super creative ratrods. I've been watching the WelderUp guys on TV for the past couple of years and love their Vegas Ratrods show. Definitely don't have much of a ratrod scene in Hawaii. So on my last stop in Vegas, I had to make a stop at the WelderUp shop. They're located on Highland drive just west of the Strip and the shop ended up being more than I expected. If you watch the show at all or like creative custom cars, I'd definitely recommend visiting. The shop has a ton of the cars that they put fabricated that you can get up close and personal with. Also, a lot of cool merchandise to purchase. The girl at the shop was also very personable and gave a lot of interesting info on the guys behind the cars (and the show). They also offer a bus tour on a bus that was created on the show. I'll make sure to check out the tour next time I'm in town. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like any of the crew were around while I perused the shop but as I left, I did get to see Steve Darnell (owner and head WelderUpper) leaving in his SUV. It was awesome to see the creations from TV in real life and I'll be back to see future creations. read more

I recently toured the shop and it was amazing, Steve and Justin are just as personal in person as they are on the big screen. They spent over 3 hours with our group, answering questions, taking pictures and most importantly, showed us around the shop; we were able to see all of the one of a kind vehicles up close and personal! My Wife hates cars and she agrees this was the best part of our trip to Las Vegas. We've been all over the world, and no "tour guide" has made an experience this fun.
