I have been to many massage therapists over the years because I have had neck injuries that led me to chiropractors...which didn't help...and then to discovering massage therapy which has been life changing. I had a great therapist in Chicago....then moved to Peoria....found a great therapist at Massage Envy...but she left and then I felt lost...going from therapist to therapist hoping to find the right fit. Many of you know how difficult that can be because Massage Therapy is such a difficult thing to be truly good at. I went to this place for the first time after moving into Peoria. My husband and I went for a couples massage and it was absolutely wonderful. The ladies there are very professional and the place was very clean and relaxing. I swear they have magic hands. The prices are very decent too. They have fairly flexible hours that really accommodated me, which worked out great. EDIT: I have been back to this place several times since my first experience and I still love it. I receive the best massages here and the ladies are so friendly. I really love the atmosphere. Probably the only place in town I'll ever go. My back had been tightening up more and more by the day, starting Thursday. Today I could barely get out of bed and was desperate to find some relief. The only place within 90 minutes I could find woth an opening was Well Kneaded, which was an hour away. First off, offering massage therapy on a Sunday is amazing in its own right. However, what I wasn't expecting is to get the best deep tissue massage I've ever had. My back was almost completely locked up, and I asked Kynise to go at it the best she could. She absolutely 100% did not dissapoint. I really needed someone to be aggressive with it and she did exactly what I asked for. I couldn't be more happy with the quality of the service, her professionalism, the results, and the fact that they got me in on a Sunday. Totally recommend to anyone - next time I'm in this situation I will have zero issues driving an hour to see her again. read more

It was getting hard to get an appointment with my regular therapist when I wanted to because she's always booked up, so I went elsewhere for awhile. I tried a couple of different therapists at the East Peoria location who just didn't help me that much. I have some awful knots and tension, especially in my neck and shoulders. I have found that therapists seem almost squeamish or reluctant to properly work on the knots in my neck, which I badly need the most. read more

Well-Kneaded is the place to go for a massage in Peoria. I always use Bobbi-Jo and she is the best of the best. I don't get in as often as I like so my neck and shoulders are always tense when I go back. Bobbi-Jo always melts the tension right away. Today I added hot stones to my massage for the first time and it was fabulous. All of the therapists are friendly. The atmosphere is professional, well decorated and relaxing. Recently had a swedish massage here for the first time. Very professional, nicely decorated, and relaxing! I've been to the other 'big name in town' spa on a few occasions, but I found this even more relaxing, not to mention the massage technique seemed more thorough. The prices were also more reasonable. I went to Well Kneaded Massage and had a massage from Bethany over Christmas break and it was so relaxing, I knew I would be coming back. When I got an email about their Valentine's special for a couple's massage I thought it would be the perfect gift for my boyfriend of Valentine's Day (and for me too :).) We had a great time today! I had Bethany again and my boyfriend got his massage from Peggy. Both women did a great job for us. My boyfriend uses a wheelchair and Peggy and Bethany were patient, waiting for us to get ready for the massage. They stepped out so I could help him get situated on the table and then stepped out again for us to turn over and get reset on our backs. The warm towels, peaceful music, and warm blankets added to our great experience. I am sure we will be going back in the future. read more

I did not leave feeling "well kneaded". I've been getting massage work done since 1996, and based on reviews, I decided to visit this shop's Peoria location for the first time. I was in a great mood, looking forward to a wonderful massage day, but right off the bat, my therapist had an 'I don't really want to be here today' attitude. The massage itself was underwhelming. I had scheduled an appointment with a therapist who was listed with a specialty in deep tissue. Before we began, I also made sure to mention that I was looking for deep tissue concentration in a certain area. About 10-15 minutes into the session, I said, "I think I can take a bit more pressure". She made a weird strained attempt to push harder (it seemed almost fake), then she complained about how it was... destroying my tissue? She 'offered' (to charge me more for) cupping if I wanted to go any deeper. When I politely declined, she seemed annoyed, then went right back to the mild massage. I really don't think I was asking for anything usual, and I just felt so... shut down... in simply trying to communicate my need. We didn't say a word for the rest of the massage. Afterwards, I got dressed, went to the counter, and she wouldn't even look up at me from behind the desk. It was the most bizarre massage experience I have ever had. I paid in cash and left confused. I felt like I needed a massage after my massage! The next day, I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and bought a shiatsu chair that did a better job. I will give 2 stars because it is a lovely studio space. It seems like this company is a collection of practitioners, each with their own room. There was coffee, a nicely kept ladies room, and things smelled nice and fresh. Maybe you will have a better experience with a different therapist? read more

They tailor the massage to whatever specific problem you have that day. i have not had the same massage twice! I try to always schedule with the owner, Jaymie. For me, i have neck/shoulder issues and i always leave here feeling so much better ... The prices are very reasonable too, you can buy 3 - one hour massages for just $155! I don't know how visible a review for a massage place will be on Yelp, but I didn't know of a better place to voice my opinion and I felt this place really deserved the kudos. Until recently I had never had a professional massage, but because I lift weights often I am always sore and wanted to find a way to relieve the soreness and some of my stress as well. My plan was to try out a few different places and a few different therapists, and then choose some favorites to continue seeing regularly. I've been to Well Kneaded three times now and have never been disappointed. I love the fact that you can schedule appointments right on their website, and often get in within a day or two. Sometimes even the same day. The atmosphere there is nice and quiet. So far I've had a massage from Jamie and Peggy. They both did a wonderful job. Earlier today I had a one hour session with Peggy after a stressful work week. I showed up tense, sore from working out, and badly needing to relax. She almost put me to sleep. When I left, the soreness in my back, neck, shoulders and knees had disappeared and my work related stress was the furthest thing from my mind.
