I've been going here for about 9 years. Everyone is friendly and competent and the salon is clean and well cared for. I've been having my nails done since 1985 at various salons and this is by far the best one. Lisa does my nails but I think anyone there is wonderful (though Michael doesn't do pink and white). I do wish they'd display the latest collection of opi instead of mingling them with others but that's because I like reading the names chosen for each theme. But that's minor and probably due to language differences. They also do waxing of eyebrows and (in my case) other facial hair. And their pedicures are to die for. Not the cheapest place in town. But I get what I pay for. read more

**WARNING: COMPLETELY UNSANITARY** Well Nails was the first nail shop I tried after moving to the Lansing area. It was an awful experience from the start, but I honestly wouldn't have cared if it had not been for the sanitary issues that this place has. They use metal foot files.... Their nail polishes are SO old that the color is completely different from what the color looks like on the swatch.... and I watched my nail tech repeatedly dip her brush back into her large container of acetone after using it on my toes instead of pouring out a small glass of it. So beyond gross. I immediately showered after I left. Not to mention the pedicure also looked awful. It was so far onto my skin (another sanitary issue, as this allows water to get trapped under). I came here to get a pedicure and a manicure, and it was the worst One I ever had in my whole life, she's soaked my feet for an hour while she was doing somebody else and use the cheese grater and took off too much skin and it's been over a month and my feet still hurts, and they are blistered I will never come back here again. I went for a shellac manicure the other day for the first time because my go to salon wasn't open that day. I should have waited. While everyone was friendly, the person doing my nails cut back far too much skin and the application of the shellac was sloppy. The skin around my nails is now in much worse shape than before. Great place!! very clean and friendly atmosphere. I've been coming here for over a year and have had great service everytime. They tend to get busy during peak hours so I would recommend calling and making an appointment, you still may have to wait a little bit but it's well worth the wait. The pedicures are wonderful! it's not quick "in & out" as some other places and my favorite part is when the put the hot towels on your calfs...lovely! They also offer you water or pop while your getting beautified. The prices are competitive with the area and if you are a student you get a student rate. read more

I was told to try out Well Spa & Nails by a friend, but I left feeling somewhat disappointed. Although the pedicure was nice (great massage chairs!), the paraffin wax was included with the manicure (one of my favorite parts!), and I enjoyed the visit I had with my friends while I was there, I wouldn't go back. I don't even know how to describe how bad my nails look with words. The shape looks different on each nail. My nails are so thick, there is extra acrylic under them. And they hurt so, so much. Got a mani and pedi and the lady ripped apart my toes and fingernails! Left with super sore cuticles and nails with a mediocre paint job. During the pedicure she put the hot towel on and it almost burned my skin it was so hot. Pedicure was below average, only used a pumice stone to scrub my feet. Came home and got about 7 more layers of dead skin off my feet with my own personal salon tools. Nails and feet chipped within a day. Price was higher than what was posted on the wall because it "wasn't busy" that day. Highly unprofessional. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! read more

This place gives a great pedicure! The massage chairs are wonderful! Also, when you get a manicure they dip your hands in wax which feels lovely. I think they used the drill a bit too much with my acrylics, but overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere. read more

Decent price. Nice massage chairs. Below average massage. The real problems may be specific to the technician. She was sloppy in every aspect. When buffing callouses, she slipped up to my ankle and scraped it. When trimming my cuticles, she made me bleed. I'm having to wear a bandaid for cushioning which kind of covers the paint job. But with how sloppy it is, it might be helping. It's all over my cuticles. On a regular manicure (not shellac) the paraffin dip is included. read more

This is my go to nail salon because it's close to home. The the service is good; reasonable prices, and quick mani/pedi's. I am not overly impressed with the massage or callus remover. I guess I was spoiled in CA. It's so competitive that the massages were always top notch and they did a special callus remover that left my feet feeling so soft. I went to Well Spa because the place at which I normally procure Shellac manicures was booked up. Although the store is clean and friendly, I will never go back. The woman who actually did my manicure didn't speak any English to me, and she really roughed up my nails with her nail file and buffing brush. She also scraped my nails so hard that they're still swollen around the edges two days later. I'm also a bit picky about how nail technicians handle their tools, and it was pretty clear that they weren't autoclaving (or otherwise sterilizing) their metallic implements between services. Not cool, guys. But what really bummed me out is the fact that my manicure looks awful. It was painfully clear that the woman doing my manicure didn't know how to use the gel products they had; she used multiple brands together (Shellac and Gelish) and then used the wrong lights (there's a UV and LED light) to try and cure them. When she finally got the lights right, she globbed on a ton of polish and didn't actually draw the polish to the edge of the nail beds, even when I pointed it out. As a result, my nails are hugely uneven and have already started cracking and peeling, which is NOT supposed to happen with a Shellac manicure one day in. She finally had to have someone else come over and help her finish the manicure (the parts this other lady did look a little better), but the entire manicure took two painful hours, and then they charged me $6 more than what was listed on their pricing board (and, when I asked about it, no one appeared to understand what I meant). I'm going to have to get it removed before I go on my vacation next week, because it looks really bad. All in all, it was a poor experience and a big waste of $32. read more

Horrible experience! I went here to get a shellac manicure and when she put the base coat and put my nails under the UV light, I felt an intense pain on my fingernails and tips. Nothing I've ever felt before to the point I had to yank my hands out. It was the most intense burning sensation I ever felt and I've had shellac done numerous times at different salons without feeling any pain so I knew this wasn't right. It felt like an intense chemical burn and excruciating. I told her number of times that I was hurting really badly and I can't put my hands back in there. Instead of realizing how much pain I was in, she kept grabbing my hands and shoving them under the UV light and dismissing my pain. Extremely unprofessional! read more

This has been my go-to nail salon the past 4 years, and I always loved it! Unfortunately, I went for a gel manicure just over two weeks ago, and the polish didn't even last two weeks before it began chipping. After just a week, I noticed it was beginning to peel a little bit. I was extremely disappointed since I had never had this problem before, but I have noticed over time that they seem to always be in a hurry. I'm planning to get a pedicure there this week, but I will be going elsewhere for my gel manicure. read more

If I could give no stars I would! I have never had such an awful experience. Lisa did my nails and keep making comments on how "short" they were and didn't listen to anything I said. I told her the colors I wanted and she did something completely different/ when I told her this isn't want I want when she only did two nails, She said it's too late and continue. She told me I didn't tell her and put the blame on me. Was not at all sympathetic knowing I was upset. She kept saying next time your nails will be longer and the color you want... there will never be a next time. She made me feel so uncomfortable and unimportant. As a regular customer, I would expect the same great service each time I come for a manni/pedi. This evening, I arrived at 7pm (8pm closing time clearly indicated on the front door and OPEN sign illuminating the street outside) and was turned away because they "changed their winter hours". Mind you, the place was full of customers,there was no communication anywhere indicating new hours (remember, the OPEN sign was on) and the front desk clerk only stated the change of hours after speaking with another worker (in vietnamese, presumably). I was refused service for the first time in 2 years....I was shocked. What has normally been a friendly establishment, suddenly had no interest in serving me or another customer waiting behind me. Unbelievable. I went to Queen nails in Holt and was greeted with a smile and was offered tea and water. No change of hours, and great overall service. Do yourself a favor and avoid Well Spa. Better service and comparable prices are available almost anywhere. Your hard earned money will be better spent, and more appreciated elsewhere. read more

Absolutely horrible. I came for a walk in and asked if they would have time to take off my acrylic nails and get a gel manicure. The lady took me to a booth and left my fingers sitting in strong acetone for over 15 minutes. Meanwhile she was giving another customer a pedicure so I assuming she forgot about me. The skin on my figures is destroyed and peeling off 2 weeks later as the salon strength acetone is very damaging to skin. She then proceeded to try and remove the acrylic's with another fake nail from her drawer. I do not believe this is the correct process and am still unsure how this would remove my nails. When the nails would not budge, she wrapped my fingers in acetone and foil as a second attempt to remove the nails. Meanwhile, she went back to helping other customers. Sometime later another man came over and motioned to move to another booth so he could help me. As he took the foil over, he said the woman had done it the lazy way. He was finally able to use the buffer and proper tools to remove my acrylics about an hour later. Although the man ended up doing a very nice job on my nails, I spent upwards of two hours in this salon. Furthermore, I left with my skin destroyed and was ignored as a customer during much of my time there. This is why I will not return here and would not recommend it. read more
