In any event, I was in a bad way with a knee problem that surfaced a little while after stopping dance class (go figure). The problem was getting worse the longer I rested it. I tried Gramberg simply because she works out of the same building I'm in, and I was panicking over the state of things and wanted to see someone right away. To make a longer story not so long, my knee immediately and dramatically responded. Very hard for me to see it as a coincidence. I've never had that dramatic response after seeing a body worker before. I've since seen her twice more, both times with good results. However, no where in the fine print did it say "Subject To Availability" It merely said, "Offer expires April 21st" so I tried to redeem it before April 21st. To which she said, sorry but the offer has actually been no good since the 10th which was her last slot available. Sure would've been nice to know this when I bought it. Even though there may not have been a physical space available at the time, the fact that I contacted her well in advance of the deadline to schedule means it should've been honored. Instead of working with me to reach a compromise and fix the situation, Amy basically blew me off and told me to contact HomeRun for a refund. So in reality, she took my money and ran. Here…read moreare some things that stood out: I have these HUGE Frankenstein-neck-plug knots on the side of my neck (you can actually SEE them if I bend my neck to the right or left). Amy worked on those puppies like it was going outta style! I kept wondering if I had the biggest neck knots Amy had ever encountered. (I hope "knot"! bwah ha!). Seriously though, I was able to bend my neck SO much more easily afterwards. It was all loosened up :) She used a lot of motion in my particular massage, which I found invigorating. Most massage therapists that I've been to for deep tissue massage use much slower movements and sometimes spend 5 minutes just applying unwavering pressure to a knot. Amy found my knots quickly and applied pressure that was strong and repetitive, which I prefer. Most massages also seem to go by so quickly. She spent so much time on my arms, neck, back, legs/feet and head, I really thought it was at least a 75 minute massage. (No, I didn't really read the Homerun coupon details). I figured there was no way all that massaging was getting done in 60 minutes, but alas, when the massage was over, I looked at the clock, and only an hour had passed. Maybe time stands still in there? Who knows! Amy also checks in with you during the massage to make sure you're doing okay. There was some small talk in the beginning, which is generally a good idea when you're naked in a room with someone. Stuff to know before you go: The door to the place is red, and you need to use the door code she emails to you in order to unlock it. I totally forgot about the door code part and waited on the steps next door. I started thinking, "Hmm, is she gonna meet me out front?", but then I checked my phone for the confirmation email she sent, noted the info about the door code, and was all, "Duh!". After you get through the red door, the waiting area is a cozy, well lit hallway lined with chairs and small tables on the left and private rooms on the right. My appointment was scheduled to be in the "Sun Room", which is all the way at the end of the hall. (The names of the rooms are written inside the door frame). There's a bathroom and water cooler too. I already scheduled my next massage w/Amy - gotta keep those knots in check!
