Great sites and extremely clean bathrooms. Very quite . It's a place where you have tranquility. Lots of space. I enjoy the time I spend there. This is our second full season at Wellington Camping Park, and it is truly a hidden gem! This is a smaller campground without all of the bells and whistles of a larger park. It is camping the way it used to be! The sites are spacious and can accommodate RVs of all sizes. There are also tent sites along the Lamprey River. Canoes and kayaks are available to borrow. There is a rec hall with ping pong, pool, puzzles, games, etc. A small store sells ice, firewood, snacks, and ice cream. There are monthly potluck dinners and other activities throughout the summer. The campground is kept neat and clean, and campers have commented on the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. Wellington Camping Park is owned by the Wellington family, and it is managed by a woman named Gail. She is a wonderful manager, fair, and well respected. Give this campground a try. You will not be disappointed! read more

This was by far one of the nicest Campgrounds I've ever visited. The staff was amazing and there was something fun for everyone, games, books, dvd's, a playground. There was even a dog park with a gazebo. The bathrooms, showers and laundry were always spotless. Great people. I highly recommend it. read more

We used to be seasonal back in 1991-1997 . it is was an older campground but nice and quite , Dick wellington was such a nice guy and checked on every one of us, willing to help out with his tractor anytime . we used the river a lot fishing and canoeing . the pot luck suppers were fun. and we remember when the bocchi court was built , many beers and cocktails were drank there, it was a second family every weekend , Boy do we miss camping it was a lot of fun back in the day read more

If I could have given this place half a star I would have. If you enjoy being "mothered" and micromanaged by the staff while trying to enjoy a camping trip, then this is the place for you. The staff overstayed their welcome on our site and we were constantly being told to "keep it down" (during the day time), "make sure you do this" and "make sure you do that", "you're going too fast" (even though I was following the speed limit) so often that I'm surprised the staff didn't follow me into the bathroom to tell me how to hold my dick while taking a piss. This was the epitome of the worst places to camp, which is unfortunate because the area is beautiful and the grounds are well kept. Don't waste your time with this place. There are many other campgrounds around that area that are much better. read more

This campground is a nightmare! The only thing they have going for them is free canoes but they make sure that, that is not even enjoyable! There is no reception! From day one we had someone that was going to be there just a few minutes before 8 and they said if they don't get in and set up before 8 we will make them park in the field up front with no hookups. Yes that's right! 2 adults and 2 young kids would be thrown in a field in the July heat with no water or electricity for showing up after 8. The first night really showed us how the weekend was going to go with the manager holly breathing down our necks the whole time. EVERY STEP YOU, TAKE EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE HOLLY WILL BE WATCHING YOU. She will make sure to come to your site and belittle you. She will harass you. She will stalk you. She continued to come to our site and tell us that we are too loud even though were being quiet, she proceeded to belittle one guest about how they're screaming when they weren't. Then she wen on that the fire ring shouldn't have been moved. Mind you the fire ring was literally 2 feet from the road! Someone would've gotten killed if that sat around it because their chair would've been in the street! Something weird is going on here. There is no one outside their campers, we literally met maybe 2 people because everyone is hiding in their camper because of holly I'm sure! Day 2 we wanted to go get some canoes. I happen to see a car driving by that had their name and logo on it so I stopped them and asked how we get them and she said go up from and give them your ID. She mentioned that everyone would need life jackets and I mentioned I had my own and then she said and unfortunately no kids under 2 are allowed which was perfect because our youngest was 3. We all loaded up into a car and drove up front to grab the equipment and sign the waiver and who awaits us to stop us? YOU GUESSED IT, HOLLY! Holly decided to come right up without saying hi or asking any questions and immediately say that the kids can't go in the canoe. I was confused so asked what she meant and say 5 and under can't go in the canoe so I responded and said I just asked an employee and they said just no one under 2 can go. Holly responds by belting out all snarky "by whom!?" I responded by saying I saw a red keep drive by and I waived them down and she responds with "Pam Wellington told you that?!" Welp then it clicked. The person who's name is on the side of the building told us the correct answer and Holly and making stuff up. She still proceeds to give us a hard time and then start to question whether our 3 year olds is a strong swimmer... SHES 3! continuing with, I don't know why Ann told you that. She then starts questioning her floatie which is specially designed to keep her afloat and on her back with her head above water. Finally get past holly and go inside the office to collect the gear. As we are driving back, who do you think made there way down to the river to watch what we do... DING DING DING! You're right again! Holly awaits us down by the launch to stalk us but decided to start harassing another camper so we were able to get in the canoes and dodge that bullet. After going out for a few hours we pulled back up to the beach to pull the canoes out and who awaits us?... YOURE RIGHT AGAIN! Our nightmare holly ready to find some other crap to yell at us about this time it's. "WHERE ARE YOUR LIFE JACKETS" I proceeded to point right in front of my legs and said right there. She scoffs and tells me that they need to be on at all times. I'm a grown ass man sorry but didn't think I had to wear my life vest and floaties 24/7. After dealing with her whining and tell us basically how we do everything wrong we finally parted ways and went back to our site to have a fire. We had some family visiting for just a few hours. We were so excited when they got to meet our good friend. The list goes on but I'm out or characters. Stay clear!! read more

Our 4th season and planning another. Peaceful and friendly and with all the parks we travel to, the best kept of all. Daily cleaning with bathrooms and the outside areas. With Covid 19 this season, management has gone above and beyond to keeping us all safe. We missed gatherings but it was about safety . A small price . Great park for families to be together . A newly added 2 .5 hiking trail has been added with a connecting trail to the dog park. Fantastic! Highly recommended!! read more

Wellington camp is my family's new getaway! We stayed there last summer three times and are looking forward to again this summer. It's a peaceful and welcoming place. My kids range from 17 to 7yrs old and all had a blast. Definitely something for everyone to do from canoeing, swimming, fishing and exploring. I started seasonal camping here last year . This is my second year here the staff is so friendly and kind. The walking trail is so enjoyable my dogs love the doggie park. We enjoy floating down the river. It is very clean and family oriented. Holly the manager is awesome always walking the park to make sure everything is good in the park. The campground itself is beautiful! Very well maintained, flat sites that have been immaculately groomed. The free canoe rentals is a really great touch. However, for a campground that takes such care in their appearance they put equally as much care in making sure you don't have any fun while visiting. The manager, holly specifically, was rude and condescending to say the least. She frequently overstepped boundaries, stayed way too long on our site patronizing us, and had the audacity to question my parenting on more than one occasion. It seemed as though she was lurking in the bushes waiting for us to "step out of line". Which being so involved in our stay would make sense considering THERES NO ONE THERE. It's weird to say the least. I questioned several times if we wound up on some cult land waiting to sacrifice us by fire at night. None of the seasonals leave their camper, and most the sites are empty. In an entire weekend I saw a total of 2 other sites being actively used and holly made sure to impose herself on their trips, as well. However, the camp ground across the river, ferndale acres, was awesome! They called us from the canoes to join in on their festivities, offered us drinks and great company! The campground felt like a family reunion and we were disappointed to have to return back to Wellington. read more

They should change the pictures on the website. Very deceiving. Sites are on top of eachother. Well maintained and clean, but unfortunetly the staff made me feel very uncomfortable. We camp in a large group and rent multiple sites, multiple times a year.. We have never been spoken to at any other campground for being too loud during the day and night. The camp manager would come to our site during the day and complain that we were talking to loud... she proceeded to tell us that nobody in the campground had complained, it just bothered her personally that we were having conversation amongst family members and friends. She continued to bother us and linger around our campsite unsolicited. She continued to repeatedly talk to myself and other adults in a condescending and passive aggressive manner. At one point the camp manager, Holly made an innapropriate comment about how i should help one of my family members quiet down by holding a pillow over her face. LIKE WTF!!! This place felt strange because we rarely saw anyone else outside of there campers. Probably because of holly. Its a shame because the free canoes were awesome and its a beautiful river with a ton of friendly people and scenic views. Unfortunetly she continued to single out my family member to the point we packed up a day early to get out of there as fast as possible. read more

We took our son and his friends camping for his bday. After checking in, my son told me the office tried accusing his friend of hitting a child on a bike. The child fell off his bike because he fell, not because he was hit. There was one worker, Holly, who was literally stalking our site or the kids. At night we would catch her at the edge of our site, dressed in all black and no light. Just standing there talking to who we still don't know. The first night she came down to our site with 10 gallons of water for our fire that was left unattended. We were in the tent changing. Jeff has to go out and speak to her. The next night she was standing there in black and in the dark again talking about toads and frogs.. ramblings. I got up to speak to her and she acted totally surprised I was there. Me: Hi, can I help you? Her: Oh.. (very weirdly) I'm Holly the owner. M: yes I'm aware of who you are. H: oh umm I just wanted to umm let you know it's almost quiet time M: (looking back at my site.. all the kids at the table talking, no music.) ok. We are aware. Now keep in mind she's not really looking at me kinda thru me. H: ok we'll have a Good night. Bout an hour later one of the kids said she's here. She was standing in the woods just watching us. So I got up again saying. Hi. She started with some more ramblings.. so I had to let Jeff deal with her at this point. It was very weird and creepy this women's behavior, and after mentioning it to other staff they say 'yeah we've had some similar complaints' Umm are you kidding me?!? You've had multiple guests leave because of this women's behavior and it's ok?!? She not only creeped us all out she ruined our trip. We left a day early because of her, the kids missed out on a day of the river, hanging out. I wasn't able to sleep at all last night because to be honest I didn't know if she was coming back. The whole place was just weird. Didn't see many other guests (although there were a lot in their rv). Didn't read about the review mentioning this place as 'cult' like until we were there. Had we seen that we totally wouldn't have went, but after reading it we can all agree that the place is just weird, and creepy. Id only recommend this place if you enjoy people creeping up on you in the night and starts talking about toads and frogs. Absolute worst camping trip in my life and we've been doing this for over 20 years!!! read more

The website lies is one of the smallest campsites I've ever seen. They have nothing to offer or activity's to do. The management is awful and they harassed multiple campers for no reason, yelling and screaming at people like children. They are very disrespectful and inconsiderate. Payed for the whole season in cash, and after just one month I asked for a refund because the place was soo bad they charged me full price! If you want a fun campground that won't hassel you for the smallest things like stacking your firewood after 2 days because it makes the campsite "look" bad or weed wacking under your wife in the hammock and asking her to move, or just the fact that they yelled at me for drinking beer when I am of age in the woods at a campsite and then asking owners if it is legal? The called the cops on me because they "though" I would cause a problem, witch I didn't or didn't indicate that I would either and ask me if I was a threat! I'm not the first to go either, the way they work here is they let you stay and then make you leave take your money and then rent site again and it just keeps going, this place is a scam and a joke! I gave 2 stars because the people that clean bathrooms do keep it very clean and the showers are cheapest and best pressure compar e to other campsites. I've camped all over never once had a Problem anytime else but here, I'd highly recommend not going to this campsite ever!!! read more
