What a great place to eat have a beer or a drink and have fun. Service is super friendly and fast. Great place to meet up with friends. Really good crowd everyone I go. And I go never enough. lol. I really like how clean the place is. And how clean the bathrooms are too. And if you like to bowl. That is right next door. How cool is that. I like all the burgers. And of course the wings. It's been years since I've been to Wellingtons. Our family did some bowling and due to impending rain, we just slipped next door to the attached restaurant, as listed here. Place has been upgraded a bit but looks a little crazy due to Minnesota's FANTASTIC COVID regulations. But all in all, brought back some great memories. Staff was great, on the ball and very friendly. Kids had great meals and said it was all delicious. With the new menu (again, been about 10 years) I did have to browse and settled on the BBQ Burger, and made it a double (standard is 1/3 lb). It came with potato chips or you could "upgrade" to French fried for $2 or waffle or sweet potato fries for $3. When the plates came out, the portions on the "upgraded fries" were rather disappointing. The children's fries were almost double the adults "upgraded" fries. So with that, the additions charge seems rather steep for what you get. Otherwise, it was a great night and the food was delicious. It was nice to come back and relive a few fun memories. Nothing fancy and inside the bowling alley but definitely a great burger and great service! Was in town for work and was told they have the best burger in town! The prices are beyond reasonable and the bacon cheeseburger was excellent! Fresh Patty and a flaky bun is a home run! Alex our server was very friendly and the food came out hot and fresh! We love Wellingtons and have frequented it for years. During COVID we haven't been able to order as often as we would like. We've gotten takeout twice in the last couple months. The first time things were good (not as great as when you can order and get it right there). The burgers were dry and very overcooked, but the soup was delicious. This time I ordered my favorite meal from there, the chicken Caesar salad. It's usually delicious and a full meal! First off, the ordering process was a bit rough as we ordered fish and chips and were told that's a Friday special. I asked them to keep checking because it's on the COVID menu (they have a limited menu at this time). The person could only find the fish sandwich, so I went to ask the person ordering if that was acceptable. When I got back my husband said they had found it on the menu. The wait was only about 20 minutes for 3 salads and the fish and chips. He got home and I was very excited, but when I opened the container the salad was tiny. The 3 chicken strips that you pay extra for ended up being about 5 chunks of chicken and a small side salad. Almost $12 for a the side salad at that. I was highly disappointed as this is my favorite item there! It tasted so good and was quick to be picked up, but for the price definitely not worth it! read more

I had Caysie as my waitress tonight. Excellent service!! She was smiling, friendly, and told us about the burger special. She checked on us just enough and when we asked for extra condiments or cocktails she delivered them right away. Ill be back again! Used to be good back about 15 years ago, but now it is laughable, the menu states all the ingredients that are in every dish, and yet when you get that dish, it is missing nearly every ingredient that is supposed to be in there, and you pay for virtually nothing. When you complain to the waitress, and show her the half empty dish, she agrees, but says that there is nothing she can do because the cook refuses to make the food the right way. Wellington burger is usually decent if it isn't over cooked. It costs $10.99 plus $2 or so to add fries. I went there and ordered a side salad instead of a side for my burger. The waitress told me I could still have chips as it was no extra cost to keep them on. The salad was a small pile of bagged lettuce with some shreds of cheese, a few croutons and some Kraft style ranch. This salad cost me $4.99. This place needs to get a GOOD CLEANING ... I have gone in several times to get some BBQ ( the only BBQ place in Winona ) .... and all three times the place needed a good cleaning. Terrible service, cleanliness awful -- you only get one star because I'm not allowed to give zero. We last ate at the restaurant in 2013 and haven't returned since. They have a BOGO on their burgers once a week which we had a good experience with prior to this one. In a nutshell we went back the next week for the BOGO. I ordered something different from my spouse, who got the BOGO. When we finally got the bill he asked the waitress for his other burger. She then told him that it's only a "couples special" that they don't allow you to take one to go. What? Clearly this waitress wasn't trained, at all. We sent her to talk to her manager who did, INDEED, clarify that he could get the burger to go. She asked if he we still wanted to do that and we said YES. 20 minutes later still no burger. Then the nitwit had the audacity to tell us that we told HER we didn't want the burger. DUMB. We finally paid our bill and left no tip for this dippy, never-trained waitress. I sent a private message to them on Facebook telling them about our experience. I received a very nice reply from a manager, or someone, who said that the owner would get in touch with us and that they were truly sorry about our experience. The owner never bothered to get in touch with us and we never bothered to go back. And, for their kindness, we've told everyone who would listen about our crappy experience. Said thing is this is really no different than almost all of the restaurants in Winona. Poor service + crap food = no one seems to care. SAD. We've since moved and are happy to not be spending another dime on dining out in what could be an amazing culinary town. If you need to dine out in this city head to Signatures or the Boathouse, otherwise COOK FOR YOURSELF and save the money and aggravation. read more

If you want to pay outrageous prices for 2nd rate (at best) diner food and a tacky atmosphere...this is your place to go! I had the Wellington hockey puck and 15 fries (for which I paid $2.00 extra). I was actually only there to play in a poker league. But I got some crappy hands and wanted to play a little longer. Apparently the only way to get back into this free game was to buy food or gift cards. I had no problem doing that because I am familiar with poker leagues and the venue pays to have the games held there so I was ok with "buying back into the game". Went there on a Friday night. The place was busy but not full. We were promptly greeted by A with a basket of popcorn. Drinks were also prompt. Menu is good sized. We had burgers which were good. Love the burgers here, but the place needs a little work. Most of the appetizers are frozen and when they are cooked all the filling get boiled out so you basically end up with a breading shell. the drinks are also very overpriced for winona, and usually arent all the great. the service is usually very good though. read more

I'm a fan of Wellington's. They have great burger's and even better sweet potatoe fries. Their food is consistent. We also love their breaded shrimp. very good. We go here to forget about work, life and worries. We can talk at any volume. We can drop popcorn accidentally. The kids can enjoy a kiddy cocktail and a game. It's just a great family place to enjoy a lively family dinner. Owners are always gracious and the servers are good too. Stop by for the burgers...stay for the beer and smiles. :) read more
