Thanks to excellent care and counseling from Sue, Kim and the staff, I was able to deal with the loss on my own terms and begin to live my life in a way that would honor his memory. I also took classes to learn more about being more effective in all aspects of my life. I became a better and happier person than I was even prior to my dad's death! I improved relationships with my friends, my partner, and my job. The staff really listened to ME as a person. HeartSpace OC is a hidden gem in Southern Orange County. I've been attending their holistic faires…read morealmost once a month since they were located in Irvine. Now, they are conveniently situated in Laguna Woods, close to the 5 Freeway. I enjoy attending their monthly faires because they offer a great opportunity to meet like-minded people. They also provide free lectures throughout the event, held every 30 minutes, and you can get a "taste" of the services various holistic practitioners offer, often at a lower rate than a private session. The advantage of a private session is the opportunity to work one-on-one with the practitioner in a private room, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the experience. One of my favorite private sessions is with Jimena, who is not only gifted and passionate about Reiki, Sound Therapy, and Energy Healing, but also someone from whom I have greatly benefited. She helped me clear emotional blockages I had been carrying over the past few years. I continue to attend HeartSpace OC's monthly holistic faires and see Jimena for regular "tune-ups." I highly recommend stopping by to experience it for yourself.

Sun County Wellness gave me a foundation for my recovery that I couldn't have attained without…read morethem. I graduated from SCW after being there 5 months. I have never felt so at home, understood, and cared for. I felt apart of a sisterhood for the first time in my life, which includes both the clients and staff. I regularly talk to the other clients I met there and consider them my best friends. The staff still reaches out to me, always asking how I'm doing post-treatment which means so much to me. I know that if I'm ever having trouble in my recovery, they will be there to support me. My therapist, Jen, was so superb I sought out her private practice once I graduated! Whenever I was having an issue or had a concern, I could easily seek out the directors who would go out of their way to make time to see me in their busy schedules. However large or small the issue, I was met with respect, care, and understanding. Even problems I was having in my personal life that were microscopic compared to what other clients were going through, Stephanie and Danelle always handled our conversations with great importance and gravity. I felt seen after these conversations which gave me reassurance I was in a program that prioritized both my well-being as well as the well-being of all their clients. I remember about two months into treatment at SCW I needed to part ways with my sponsor at the time. It was a little nerve wracking considering I was so fresh in my recovery. The same day I mentioned that to SCW, Stephanie got another sponsor lined up for me almost instantly. Without me even asking! I felt so genuinely cared for and I am still with that sponsor today. Even when you don't ask for help, the staff can recognize when you are in need it. I graduated from this program a completely different person in all the best ways. The confidence, emotional intelligence, and connection I gained from this program has been the greatest gift. Rachel at the front, keeps the place together and encourages like no other. Matthew sets the bar as an incredible case manager and facilitator. When speaking with him I felt seen and understood during a challenging time. And I've seen how the groups he leads with transformative practices has made powerful waves in how my peers and I tackle our challenges. Lena is a wonderful CM who embraced me as I am and helped me see a whole new world of possibility, at my own pace, as well as offering deep insights when facilitating our groups. And Dr.Turner has been a wise wizard offering support with tailored medication, speaking to me as an individual, and offering timely guidance. There's a list of more wonderful people here, like Ashly and her sound meditations, and Sapna with her artful activities for making breakthroughs. Jamie also sets a safe space that helps groups open up and process. The environment is welcoming too, which makes the experience less daunting, as well as the intake process with Aljan. The insurance and paperwork process is handled efficiently too. The care and wisdom shared within this facility has greatly influenced my sense of safety and helped me better my life.
