And being a retired Marriage & Family Therapist with a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, I had all the intellectual awareness and tools to presumably deal with my childhood trauma, but none of it brought me even close to where I am now in my life except Liz. Short Version: Walk in with one body, walk out with a better one!…read more I've been going to Liz for about 5 years now at her little studio in Venice, and had such a good treatment yesterday, I was inspired to write, so as many people as possible know about the magic she does. Liz is not just a massage therapist, she is a bodywork fairy. When you get there, you sit across from her first and she looks and you and your posture and asks you questions about what you're feeling and what you want or need, so she knows what she wants to go for in your session. I am a writer and had been having some numbness in one typing hand, so I asked if she could give me some kind of massage that would help. Well, she didn't just give me some regular ol' massage. She did all this focused muscle and nerve work from my neck, shoulders, arms down through my fingers. And by the time I got home and sat at my keyboard, my hand was like a brand new limb, working perfectly again. Like, I wanted to shout all church-style "I've been healed!" Really. If you have ANYTHING you that has been bothering you specifically -- an injury, an old pain, a new pain, a pregnancy, stress neck, back whatevers -- Liz is your girl. She also does amazing regular relaxing massages too, which is what I usually go in for. I think of it like an oil change, my regular body/muscle maintenance. I did a few sessions of ROLFing with her too. Which is all to say that overall, the healing she is able to do with her knowledge is beyond. She seriously just knows everything. If she is not your girl yet, she should be.

My schedule has been crazy since my husband has been battling cancer, and I needed some support to help reset my eating habits (which had been in rapid decline). On top of my demanding schedule, I have a complicated history with food. I've had disordered eating; have followed special diets ranging from veganism to the very meat-heavy autoimmune protocol; I have a ton of food allergies; and I am ridiculously picky. Jamie was incredibly supportive and empathetic. She listened carefully to my history and targeted her plan and advice to my individual needs. In my case, because I am dealing with overwhelm, she took a very practical, gradual approach to incorporating changes. For example, while she developed a full meal plan for me, she set the incremental goal of incorporating just two or three new meals in our first week. Jamie also did an excellent job with creating a meal plan that was realistic, delicious, and tailored to my picky taste. Coming from various experiences with disordered and overly strict eating, I really appreciated that Jamie was not judgmental or dogmatic about any particular food types. She didn't even criticize me for the random bowls of cheese puffs that appeared in my food journal. : ) Perhaps most importantly, Jamie is an excellent listener and asks great questions to target her program to your needs. She doesn't rely on the one-size-fits-all approach that I've seen with so many other dietitians. Wherever you are on your health journey, whether you need to make slow changes or if you're ready to hit the ground running full force, I am sure she will be able to help you meet your goals.

My mom has a lot of chronic conditions and is also prediabetic, making her dietary needs more complex. My mom loved her experience with Jamie and felt very comfortable right away, despite the visits being virtual because of distance (my mom is based in the Bay Area). Jamie provided compassion and empathy, while patiently listening to all of my mom's concerns and answering all questions. Jamie provided dietary recommendations taking into account my mom's cultural and dietary preferences. The plans were structured in a way that made it very easy for my mom to understand and follow. We have been very pleased with my mom's experience and highly recommend Jamie for your nutritional needs.

She was the first person that truly educated me on how I should nourish my body with her detailed food plan/s and on how to become an intuitive eater. When I first started working with Kristina back in March of 2017, I originally came to her to have her help me get back into my jeans but I also wanted to increase my energy and sleep better. I mentioned to my family and colleagues that I started working with a nutritionist and no one felt that I needed to see one as they didn't see the extra weight (15-20 lbs) that I was hiding. Back then, I wasn't "overweight" according to the BMI (Body Mass Index) scale but I felt extremely sluggish, tired, and unhealthy. My starting BMI in March of 2017 was 23 and today it's 20. Now, I'm able to fall asleep and stay asleep and wake up with vitality and I've also totally ditched weighing myself on the scale! I'm finally a true morning person and no longer feel groggy when getting up in the morning to go to work!! I strongly believe that Kristina's coaching, food plans and exercise helped me to get to where I am today. She did weekly check-ins with me and I never felt that I was restricted in eliminating any particular types of food. I'm a huge carb lover and I still eat bread and cookies. I was also given a lot of helpful suggestions as to how I should structure my day with food/food portions and how to be mindful about it. Kristina also went the extra step to sending out some exercises that I could do at home when I wasn't feeling up to attending my barre or spin classes. ...AND, she went above and beyond by being my cheerleader from day 1 to when I started accomplishing my fitness goals and to finally seeing some weight loss and increased energy.
