One of the other staff members asked me to wait and to speak with the GM Sasha. Later in the evening I asked to speak to her but she was gone for the day so I asked for another manager, who happened to be Janet! She was eager to have another staff member cancel it for me without even making an attempt to apologize or ask me to reconsider. Before leaving the gym, I asked for Sasha to reach out to me the next day, but when 3:30 pm rolled around I had not heard from her so I called her. She didn't even make an attempt to ask what had happened or why I was so angry that I asked to cancel my membership so quickly. She also knew exactly who I was because she never even asked for my name which means she had gotten the message about reaching out and chose to ignore it. I don't want to bash all the staff as most are very nice and welcoming, but I would have expected more from the club leadership. I would also note that if your considering joining the men's locker room Sauna has not worked for years now and the club leadership doesn't seem to have any plan or intention on fixing it.

Second, if the outside temperature does influence the pool's temperature, then why is it still cold (83 degrees vs 86 degrees)? The shower on the men's side is still closed due to an unsafe and inoperable light fixture. The sauna has been closed for months. And, now the hot tub has an inoperable piece. Maintenance has to be a top priority to keep customers happy. Too many of my swimming buddies are going elsewhere.

The evening Kids Club girls truly enjoy watching children. It is not just a job to them. They play with the kids and listen to them. They are absolutely amazing and have become family to me. If it wasn't for them taking care of my babies, I wouldn't have lost 30lbs in 4 months and be able to achieve my fitness goals. This is definitely a family environment. The only thing that could be improved upon at all at MAC is the management/workers for the Kids Club morning crew. Both times I took my children there in the morning, there were issues and I didn't get the welcoming vibe we get with the evening crew. Now with the Coronavirus shutdown, Linda and her team have gone above and beyond what we could have ever expected. The online Zoom workouts literally saved my sanity. As a retired person, going to the studio five days a week made sure I left the house (can you say, introvert?). I joined Crunch for the closest thing to CrossFit I could find, which is their HIIT program. I am…read morewell versed in CrossFit, but it is cost prohibitive in this area, so HIIT, being a form of CrossFit, was the next best thing. I took 3 HIIT classes for free before joining the gym. The $9.99 per month membership does not include the classes so I signed up for the top tier at $29.99 a month. Definitely doable. Sadly though, the early morning and Friday HIIT classes were cancelled almost immediately after I joined, due to lack of participation. Lucky for me, my work schedule allows me to take the classes at 930am M-T. They also offer them at 6p. Carolyn is the HIIT trainer on the weekdays. I like her style, she's bubbly and motivational and I usually work up a good sweat. I've taken Traci's class on Saturdays, which is very intense. The HIIT zone has all the stuff...Pylo boxes, Battle Ropes, Pull Downs, Bar Jack, Slam Balls, Medicine Balls, etc. Crunch offers spin classes as well as several others. Aerobics, Zumba, All Out Athlete, Chisel, to name a few. I did a couple with Ruth and they were brutal, in a great way. I think the gym has every piece of work out equipment one could ever want, EXCEPT for the Smith Machine, which I really like if I'm lifting because I simply feel safer. The ONLY reason I'm giving Crunch 4 stars instead of 5 is that one day I asked for help understanding a machine and I was kind of brushed off. My fault for not being a little more assertive, being that I pay to play there, Because I came in for the classes and didn't ask for more, that's where I'm at. I'll work it out. All in all, I am enjoying Crunch and the HIIT Zone, even on days when I can't show up for class.

I had been to the location a couple of years before and was happy with it. The problem started at the beginning when the instructor gave a passionate plea to speak up about all the awful stuff going on in the country. I ignored it. To be fair I was happy with the class tempo, music, and degree of difficulty. The class ended with a repeat of political activism and shaming if you might not hold those same opinions. I quietly left class but the instructor was at the desk as I put on my coat. I quietly told her I know she noticed I left early, and that I was used to yogis that left us uplifted with quotes from poets, philosophers , or other yogis. That I felt she was giving a political lecture. She vehemently said " Yoga is political". But i feel it is spiritual not political, or at least should be. I was a drop in so maybe the members like this but if you plan on going to this location just be for warned. I was so put off and mad instead of the feeling of love and peace yoga has brought me over the years.

Not only is her review very misleading (because I was there at said class) but she wasn't honest about her behavior (which was embarrassing for her). Every class begins and ends with motivational quotes. Take what resonates and leave what doesn't. Just because something isn't relevant to her life (how lucky) doesn't mean it isn't for someone else. She did not leave quietly, I got to hear her huff & puff and leave class early. I thought that was the end of it but she waited out in the lobby to confront the instructor & raised her voice enough about her Asian American family that came here "the right way" (crazy to assume someone else didn't) that she had to be asked to leave. Now I attend Bruna's class almost every week & always leave feeling empowered & strong. She is an amazing instructor & knows her stuff & I see it every class with how many members love her & look forward to her class. Anyways we love you Bruna & I will always recommend her & all the instructors at Midlo Hot Yoga & Wellness.
