Flu, cold, coughs oh my ... I had been under the weather for days and decided to get it checked out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this well now not only has urgent care but also an allergy clinic. The wait was pretty short, and the reception check-in was quite simple. The waiting room was welcoming and clean. This is the first time I have EVER witnessed an urgent care with a self-serve slusshie machine *They recommend waiting until after your care** So the nurse who waited on my was a bit unusual. The constant need to ask repeat questions was quite annoying ...especially being sick and having limited ability to speak and coughing every second. The Dr Kelly came in, and she was friendly, she took the time to listen and I didn't feel rushed. She prescribed a few things and I was done. I really enjoyed the follow up messages they send to ensure all is well. I think that is definitely an important thing to do. read more

Yesterday I made an online appointment. I completed the registration. As I got closer, I received a text about my appointment. "Text A to let us know you are here." I texted A. Then I saw the sign on the door, "Temporarily Closed." I was stunned. The large street sign told me the closure was not temporary. Raise your hand if you like going to the urgent care center. No one? No hands? Bueller? Just what I thought. But if you've got to go to the urgent care center, this place should be at the top of your list. I had to take my elderly mom after my puppy scratched her & she couldn't stop bleeding. (Baaadddd pupppyyyy!) There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon during the Bills game (that's because if you're a die hard Bills fan & you are injured when the game is on, you would sooner bleed out than miss a play). There were two employees at the desk to check us in. Both had very pleasant personalities & made my mom and me feel at ease. (Mom is a very spry 84, so the fun chatter goes a long way with her!) I just sold my house, so all my first aid supplies, towels, and all the extras were packed up. The PA who saw us agreed it was good for her to come in. The cleaning of the wound process was NOT a pleasant one, and it's something I could not have effectively done at the house. The whole thing was over pretty quickly, and they offered Mom a snow cone from their machine because she was (mostly) well-behaved. Mom was tickled by that. There's also a Ms Pac Man game in the waiting room, which would have fun for us both had there been a wait. Mom is doing fine now, by the way. She's back to her old shenanigans, and I'm working with the puppy to "Sit." read more

I have never received better care than I did yesterday at WellNow East Amherst. I had made a 10:30 appt but showed up at 9:15 with severe breathing distress. From the moment I was checked in, every single employee took such care in getting me taken care of as quickly as possible. The receptionist took care of my information for me and took me right back to a room. Within a minute, there were medical personnel taking my vitals and quickly getting me on a nebulizer treatment. Everyone was beyond friendly, quick to act and made this stressful time so much easier. They were thorough in their testing and treatments, and went above and beyond in kindness. Unfortunately, like many others during this pandemic, several of my family members including myself how to take the test for COVID-19 due to having some related symptoms. Luckily we all ended up having negative test results. Nobody had the virus in my home. Our our results were back within three days. I was not able to get the rapid testing as my insurance would not cover it. I believe rapid testing may be "medically controversial" still as it is reported to give some false results. I was told that most insurance carriers are not paying for rapid testing. I chose this location due to its proximity to my home. I didn't want to drive close to 20 miles for a New York state testing site offering free testing in Niagara County. The drawback at Wellnow was that I had to pay a $30 co-pay when using my insurance. The other big drawback was a rude receptionist. The young lady rolled her eyes and looked over to her coworker when I asked a question that she didn't know how to answer. The very first person you speak to when you walk into the business. Not a good thing. Then the coworker answered my question and got me registered. Very awkward initial interaction. However the two Physicians Assistants who examined my daughter and were both courteous and knowledgeable. Took care in administering the nasal swab test for Covid. One PA explained the G.I. symptoms my daughter had, was probably a stomach virus, or maybe a food allergy. Because it mimicked Covid symptoms, we had to have the test. Hopefully you will not need to go to urgent care. But if you do you will be OK here. read more

This place is horrible. I went to see if I had Covid and they took a sample. I have Medicare and a supplement policy and everything was covered. They assured me they had the correct insurance information. A few weeks later a bill from Quest came for $455.35. I immediately called and they said they didn't bill it properly and will resubmit it again. Guess what never did resubmit and they sent it to collections. I called collections and they can't do anything. Google them and you can see they are doing whatever they want with the billing. read more

The business owner of this clinic, Stephanie S, replied to my post with the following: "We'd like to learn more about your experience and discuss your concerns. Please reach out to us at wecare@wellnow.com with the patient's full name, the date of your visit and the best way to contact you". I believe she and her staff give the impression they care, when in actuality...they continue to ignore clients. Stephanie and her email team at wecare@wellnow.com have done just that. We filed a complaint with our insurance company 2 months ago and the complaint was substantiated shortly thereafter. We were told the WellNow office would remedy the situation. After repeated communication, we have heard nothing from the owner or any customer service representative. It is no surprise WellNow operates so poorly...their team leaders are as unprofessional as the staff. read more

Thankfully I made an appointment and registered online. This made for an efficient start to my visit. Walking in, you immediately see the reception desk. This is where I would find the flaw. Staff seemed flustered and disorganized and I'm not clear why. There were a couple people in the waiting area but nothing seemed out of sorts. Luckily everything was great after check-in. I was seen quickly and treated wonderfully. I wish I caught the name of the young lady who took my vitals and had to help with my ear issues. She was fantastic; friendly, compassionate and funny. The doctor was also great and provided a treatment plan that got my double ear infection under control by that night. read more

I've been to this Well Now on several occasions and I have always found the front desk staff, nurses and doctors very professional which is so important when you aren't feeling well. The rooms are always clean and I am typically seen in a timely matter. My questions are always answered and my concerns addressed. I would recommend this location to family and friends. read more

Went into this facility for a foot injury (needed to find out if I had a sprain or a fracture. They were not busy at all. I was perhaps the only patient there. The PA took my temperature and blood pressure. He said that the xray tech would be coming in shortly to take x-rays, but that never happened. I waited over an hour, but no xray tech. I finally peeked my head out and said "is someone coming in to take my xrays" Their response. "we're waiting for our xray tech to get here. It should only be just a couple more minutes" Well after waiting another 45 minutes, the xray tech never arrived, so I left and went to another urgent care. I had a large laceration to my hand on a Sunday afternoon, bleeding heavily. Went in to WellNow, and the receptionist told me that there were no medical people on site that day that could care for me. The place felt deserted except for the receptionist. The only other urgent care we knew of nearby was also closed. We ended up in the hospital emergency room. I was stunned that these urgent care facilities were closed. read more

" I replied with that's okay, I made an appointment around lunchtime today for 6:40 tonight (it was 6:40), i was then informed that it was still an hour 30 minute wait. I was having a hard time breathing and very congested. I decided to go to WellNow on my lunch break to get it checked out b/c it felt like bronchitis and I didn't want to turn into pneumonia. I saw whoever was on staff, she listened to my lungs and asked me if I had allergies. I do but I said this is different. There's tightness in my chest and I'm having a hard time breathing. "Its allergies. You can take some OTC meds for that". No. Something didn't feel right so the next day I managed to get an emergency appointment with my primary. Bronchitis. I told her how WellNow told me I had allergies and she rolled her eyes and said "between you and me, they tell everyone that". That's scary b/c if I didn't follow my gut and listened to her that bronchitis would have turned into pneumonia. I will not recommend nor ever go back there. BUT as my husband is now headed back for the FOURTH FREAKING TIME to get his DOT card "corrected" again because they keep messing it up, filling in wrong info, I highly suggest this place get under better management. There are no bother patients here, the person behind the reception desk is watching TV and my son can hear the staff laughing and talking outside his exam room as he is NOT being seen. I chose to go to this Urgent Care as their website (which has the incorrect phone number) said they could draw blood. After waiting one hour to see a medical person, I found this wasn't the case. The dr suggested I go to the ER but with Covid cases there, I didn't think that was a safe option. There is very little they can do for anyone here. Don't waste your time. read more

I have never left a bad review in my life, but this prompted one. I was recently seen here for ripping a toe nail off. While the staff was friendly enough, I felt that other than cleaning me up and wrapping my toe, I received very little help. I was there for around 3 hours waiting in the procedure room, which I expected and was fine with. Once the PA began working on me, I was asked to google information on a specific dressing that she was unsure of, I was stuck with a needle 15 times in an attempt to numb my toe (that never went numb) and the PA then had to FaceTime another to confirm that what she was doing was correct. Honestly, I could have overlooked all of this as they were friendly and I could see that they were trying to help, but the follow up aftercare is where I had a problem. The only instructions I was given were to take acetaminophen and contact a podiatrist. After calling countless podiatrists with no luck, I called Wellnow to ask how to clean and care for my wound. I was told that they could not give me medical advice over the phone and that I would have to come back in for them to tell me what kind of dressing was used on my toe. Instead of paying another $75 for minimum help, I was able to get in with my dermatologist who was just as puzzled with my wound dressing as I was. My dermatologist could not tell what was used, but was luckily able to remove it for me after some careful soaking. I think moving forward, aftercare for injuries, etc. need to be more detailed and helpful and should specifically list what was used for temporary treatment. Hopefully this would avoid others having just as much confusion and trouble as I did to care for their injury properly. read more

Brought my mother in to get her foot xrayed to make sure she didn't have a fracture. The staff was super nice and very attentive.

Had to go in to get a PPD. Staff was very quick, friendly, and it was painless. You can tell they're genuine and love what they do. It was even quicker to go in and have it read. I'll definitely be going back for all future PPDs, physicals, and sick visits. Would definitely recommend to all my friends and family! read more
