I almost never do reviews on medical professionals! Hello HIPAA! It's my business, but this experience was too great to NOT share! I don't know about you, but I hate going to dental appointments! Although I routinely go, it's usually a visit I dread. The sound of the instruments used are horrible and if you happen to have an experience where they didn't numb you enough--it just makes the situation & my anxiety even worse! Well, your girl needed a root canal and so I was referred to Dr. Wells. This endodontist was the absolute best! Here's Why from A to Z Keep in mind...I'm not good with names! Once I arrived for my 0715 appt, Ms. Cindy greeted me and got me checked in. I waited less than 5 minutes before a nice man named Mr. Vern comes around to get me. He does my x-rays and preps me for the procedure. In comes Dr. Wells! Grant it, I don't know if music was playing before he entered the building, but all of a sudden the production begins. the hills are alive; with the sound of music. People are coming in. Laughter fills the air. Woodpeckers are at the window, then along comes a squirrel waiting for the day to begin. In walks Dr. Wells with this pleasant smile! He begins to talk & all my anxiety starts to dissipate--not completely, but enough for me to trust he's going to take care of me. Dr. Wells #1 priority is your comfortability & getting the job done! He has his assistant turn on the massage (yes the chair has a massage), provide you glasses for eye protection and they even provide a warm blanket. The doctor applies the numbing agent(s) & begins the procedure. I kind of felt some discomfort for just a second, but Dr. Wells actually stopped immediately and applied more numbing medication to make sure the procedure was completed without fail. My friends, I pray you never need a root canal but if you do, I promise I'd never steer you wrong--Wells Endodontics is where you need to go! I won't say "trust me" because when people say that--I never believe them! I'll just say...You know it's good when you wish the doctor was your regular dentist. Go see for yourself....well only if you need to.

Root canal was painless, easy, and quick.

I wish I could give this practice zero stars…read more My husband was experiencing severe anxiety because he had never undergone significant dental work before. During our visit, we encountered discrepancies between the treatment recommendations and payment information provided by our primary dentist and what we were being told at this office. As a result, we requested a few minutes of privacy to discuss the treatment plan and financial options together. Unfortunately, the dental assistant repeatedly remained in the room despite our request for privacy. I had to ask multiple times before we were finally given the opportunity to speak privately. Later, the assistant returned with Dr. Medina, and we explained that we were attempting to resolve conflicting information with our primary dentist, who had referred us to this office. Rather than addressing our concerns, Dr. Medina appeared frustrated that we were postponing treatment until we had clarity regarding the discrepancies. She ultimately declined to treat my husband, stating that she felt we were "not a good fit." As someone who works in healthcare, I found this experience extremely disappointing. Patients have the right to ask questions, seek clarification, and fully understand their treatment options before proceeding. I have never witnessed a healthcare provider refuse treatment simply because a patient expressed concerns or requested additional information. What made this situation particularly troubling was that Dr. Medina was aware my husband was experiencing significant pain, yet she still chose not to provide care. In my opinion, personal frustration should never interfere with professional responsibilities or patient care. Additionally, the staff came across as overly pushy and lacked empathy for a patient who was clearly anxious and nervous about undergoing major dental surgery. The fact that I had to repeatedly insist on basic privacy for a discussion regarding treatment and finances was also highly concerning. Overall, this was an unprofessional and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking compassionate, patient-centered care, especially for major dental procedures where comfort, communication, and trust are essential.

My dentist recommened them to me. I was having a bit of aniexty because I'm known to have adverse…read moreeffects from pharmacuticals so this is a nerve wrecking experience for me. I spoke to someone 3xs before coming in due to paying out of pocket. The issue I had with this is she gave me 3 different prices. EVERY time she told me the CT was included with the price for a root canal. I have it written down 3xs. All three times there was a different price listed on the exception of the CT scan. The CT scan and consulation would be a different price if he didn't do the root canal which was fine and it made sense. When I got there she told me the CT scan was an addtional 250 and then some other fee so in short it was going to be 1400. Again another price change. So when I said something she started arguing with me and getting louder. I wasn't trying to argue. I stated the fact that she told me something else previously and then I tried to clarify by repeating what she said. She was very frustrating and even motioned to someone else and when I said "I don't need another person involved I was just clarifying because you gave me three different prices before." She acted like I did something wrong and started talking slower to me as if I'm an idiot. I was just repeating what she said for clarification since I had 3 other prices at home. IN NO WAY did she need to raise her voice or go to stand. In no way or shape or form am I tolerate to these types of behaviors anymore. I use to be and I use to just stand there and take it but the older I get the more it makes me want to punch them in the nose. I won't and wouldn't but I seriously miss the days that if someone behaved poorly you could. When I was taken to the back not only was my aniexty high but I was nervouse, so I chatter. The girl that took me back apologized and was completely unbothered by me. She was super sweet. She showed me the cost but again I think it was more like here let me explain it to you dumbass. Very annoyed at this point and I couldn't wait to leave. I was fine about paying it either way. I just wanted my tooth fixed. Money is always a concern but I have the money. I could have pulled the entire amount out of my savings but with the present virus and all I'm trying to be a bit more mindful since I haven't worked in 3 months now due to it. The dentist was very pleasant. Very professional and had great bed side manner. He explained my crown to me telling me there wasn't anything he can do but seriously I'm not sure why the infection can't be taken care of without pulling my tooth. The only real tooth I've ever had any issues with in 28 years. Its in the back but I'm still rather freaked out on why it can't be fixed and the fact it will have to be pulled. I view losing teeth as a lack of self care and dirty which I take care of myself and my teeth. So I'm really not happy about it but what am I to do? I do realize that is not truly the only case and reason people lose their teeth but never the less. I'll be going back to my dentist in a few weeks. Thankfully I have zero pain.

Let me preface this by saying that I am new to the Zephyrhills community having just moved here…read morefrom Georgia. I saw the same dental clinic for 20 years with my most recent visit/checkup in December 2024 prior to moving to Florida. I found New Zephyrhills Dental through a simple Google search and they had solid reviews so I booked an appointment. My first mistake was not looking at the one-star reviews. I explained to the young lady that I spoke with that I just needed a routine exam and a dental cleaning. We settled on a time that was about a week out and I assumed that this would be a routine dental appointment. It was not. I had a 10 a.m. appointment but was not taken back until 10:15. Not a big deal. The clinic is set up as an open bay concept with partitions separating individual patient areas so you can see and hear everything that is happening in the clinic. I waited another few minutes for the young lady that brought me back to take x-rays. I informed her that I had a small mouth and x-rays can be a little difficult. She did not listen. Instead, she tried to put the biggest dental x-ray sensor holder she had into my mouth. When she realized it would not fit, she went down to a much smaller size. It took at least 30 minutes just to get x-rays of my mouth! Then I met with the dental hygienist to see what type of cleaning I needed. I am sorry - what? I am here for a routine exam and a dental cleaning. He looked inside my mouth and poked at my gums with sharp instruments; left the room, without saying a word, to get another sharp instrument - poked in my mouth some more and then said, "I have some good news and some bad news. You need a deep cleaning." He then proceeded to show me on my x-rays as to why I needed a deep cleaning. Keep in mind -- I have been seeing a dentist regularly for the past 50+ years and the same clinic for the past 20 years and not once did my dentist (who I trust) tell me I needed a "deep cleaning." I refused and proceed to start to leave and he said no, we are not done, I am going to get the dentist. I should have left. The dentist came in and looked at my x-rays and inside my mouth. I told him my previous dentist was keeping an eye on a certain tooth and if it was not bothering me, we were going to leave it alone until it became an issue. He said I am good for now. I asked him why I needed a deep cleaning and he said he just goes with what his dental hygienist recommends. I'm sorry -- aren't you the dentist??? He then sends in his office manager to talk to me about scheduling all the appointments needed for a deep cleaning and again I refused the painful and expensive deep cleaning, she said we don't do routine dental cleanings and I said fine I will go somewhere else. And she proceeded to tell me that if I do not get that one tooth taken care of it could be more than just a crown. So, a little fear mongering thrown in with--if you're not going to do the expensive, painful procedure we want to do -- we're just not going to treat you at all. Cool beans. Plenty of other dental practices in Zephyrhills. The office manager said she was going to send me the x-rays and 48 hours later, I still have not received them.
