It's a name used to mislead military members that they are affiliated. They have been sued for discriminatory lending practices. Don't expect any level of personal service from the loan department. They will not communicate with you at all. When you call them on the phone, you can only speak to a representative who admittedly does not have any answers about the loan department or how they operate. They read from a standard form and cannot provide any assistance or answers. With NFCU you're just a number. Your military service means nothing to them. For me it has been a disappointment. Would I recommend them to a friend? Absolutely not. It's offensive to military members, veterans and their families.

Every time I come in, I feel like they genuinely try to assist and make things easy, which I definitely appreciate. This is my go to branch because of the customer service alone. My only issues are more with some of their policies and features. One thing I didn't like is how placing a limit or lock on your debit card also impacts deposits. I had put restrictions on my card for security reasons to prevent money from being taken out only to find out it also affected money going in. That was frustrating and not something I expected. I also wish they supported Zelle. Being able to instantly move money is important, and while there are workarounds, they can take 1-3 days. Other institutions like Navy Federal Credit Union offer it, so it would be great to see that added here. Overall, great staff and good service, just a few process and technology updates would make this place even better.

A staff member who I believe is the manager ( mid-aged bald guy) always greets customers with a smile upon entry. I met with another staff member to open my first credit card and he was extremely helpful and nice. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name. It might have started with a D and I think he may have been Asian? Their drive thru ATM is very convenient. I almost never go inside. The ATM occasionally will be out of order but not too frequent. The website is easy to navigate and comes with a lot of neat features like the track your spending tools. The website and app also make transferring money quick and easy. My only complaints are the annual/ monthly bank fees. Many other banks either have cheaper fees, or none at all.

Of course when you want to deposit money, they treat you like a queen and there are never any issues with putting my money in their bank. But when I went to withdraw some cash (which I do consistently on a bi-weekly basis), you would have thought I was trying to rob the place. The teller (Nataly) asked for another form of ID and I gave her my ATM card in addition to my drivers license. She then said she needed to get approval so she walked three windows down and was waiting to get approval. Well that lady (Lisa) had a customer so I just stood their waiting for a few minutes because apparently there was no one else who could "approve" it. Finally Nataly gives my IDs and withdrawal form to Lisa. Then Lisa yells down to me and asked if I was in town for a visit. I didn't appreciate that she yelled so the whole bank could hear our conversation when she could have asked me to walk down there or she could have come to the window I was at. I explained that I was in town for the weekend. She then proceeded to ask why I was in town and did it so everyone in the bank could hear. I finally walked to her window and asked why this was an issue since she had my drivers license and ATM card. Lisa had an attitude the whole time I was trying to convince here that I was who I said I was. She insisted that they needed to verify who I was since I was in PA and had a VA license, but she could have done it with out the attitude. I told her I appreciate that but I answered all of her questions, so she didn't need to be so accusatory. She then asked me to verify my last transaction, which I did and then she finally seemed like she would give me my cash. Remember this is MY money I'm talking about here. I wasn't trying to get a loan from the bank, I was simply trying to withdraw MY money. She finally handed me my cash and I asked for an envelope and she said they are sitting right there at the edge of the window and wouldn't even hand it to me. She didn't even count money for me or put it in an envelope. So I stood there and counted my money at her window and put it in my envelope myself. I've NEVER experience such bad customer service! I've been PNC customer for a while now and this service was unacceptable. I definitely will NEVER go back to this branch and I'm considering not banking with PNC anymore because of this awful experience.
