Who doesn't love being able to go to the bank and do your groceries at the same time, this location is located inside of Safeway so it is very convenient. The lines here can get long during the lunch hour but the tellers and the rest of the people there try to make it as smooth and easy as they can to make your experience delightful. If waiting in line isn't your thing then there are two ATMs on site that you can use. If a loan is what you need they have that on location and they put you in a private room to make you feel secure and comfortable. read more

The last time I came here to use the ATM, a cop was sitting in his SUV right in front of the machines. It made me feel extremely safe.

I know this is a bit awkward, considering all of the recent revelations about Wells Fargo's misdeeds on the corporate level, which I'm as disgusted by as anyone, but I wanted to remind people that our little branch here in Fort Bragg is still an incredible asset to our residents. They work in an area barely bigger than my bedroom, are open more days than any other bank in town and for longer hours, and have to overcome the ignominy of being inside a grocery store, and yet they never behave in anything less than an exemplary manner. I opened my first account there over 20 years ago and while I've tried several other banks in town, over time I've always ended up back in their queue, waiting to have Marie or Jessica or Alta help me tend to my finances. Some of them have been there as long as I have or longer, and whether my accounts were flush or barely in the black, they always treat me with the highest respect and go out of their way to help me accomplish what I want. It's easy in the social media age to only speak of companies when we feel aggrieved, so it only seemed fair to take a moment to recognize them today for a simple deposit and transfer that was done 30 seconds after I stepped to the counter, because that's what they've done without fail for me for more than two decades. Had to get a wire transfer off but who has time to go through this mess when it's during the Xmas holidays? Thankfully this Wells Fargo branch was close by to our staycation B&B..... & more importantly, it was open! Inside the Safeway, they offer a full-service range of staff & transactional capabilities. Point to note however, is that staffing is minimal & most people make an appointment w/ the bankers here, to take care of things falling outside the "routine" deposit / check cashing needs. We were completely unaware we would need an appt & walked in, assuming it wouldn't be a big deal.....only to find their banker was fully booked for the day - EEK... we needed our wire to go out *this* day! Well, without us even asking & totally recognizing our need, they made a few calls & rearranged things so they could help us after their current customer finished up his appointment. Our wire was processed before the business day's cutoff & we were back on track. Talk about going above & beyond to help us out!!! Took care of our needs, lickety split, & people as nice as could be - thanks for keeping these holidays joyous & happy! This was surely as good as it gets! read more

Was finally able to get an appointment with Alta at the Fort Bragg Branch located inside the local Safeway. Over the months, I have come to learn how in demand she truly is. I know she's been with the bank for 2 decades or more and being such a small one, she must be busy as a bee. Luckily, I called on the off-chance she would have a random opening and it was a miracle- I was able to get in the following day at noon: usually, it would be at least a month's wait - which is fine, but without having a car right now, it has been challenging to swing planning ahead. The nature of my visit was to get a tutorial in credit card usage, how to avoid getting into trouble with credit (as I have seen so many people do), how credit works and the best way to improve one's credit rapidly. Being the age I am (42), it's sort of embarrassing to not know these things, but frankly, no one ever taught me. I avoid credit as my father always told me to pay in cash, period; however, in this day and age, this is no longer an option if we are to function in society. Alta made me feel at ease asking questions and even though I sort of felt like a grade school kid taking my first math math lesson, she was warm and nonjudgemental, and just matter of fact and patient. We took a full hour for her to explain and showed me (with pen and paper) how to ensure using a credit card could/will benefit me and how to stay out of the red or making things worse. Life has been pretty rough for many people lately: this knowledge, plus the fact that someone could/would slow down enough, be thorough and teach me something that might seem so obvious to most people made me feel reassured about my abilities and reminded me there is plenty of good in the world. The entire experience spurred a sense of security and confidence, now armed with the education and proper/correct information. I hope that anyone in need of building credit, needing to obtain credit, or dealing with bad credit, go see her. She is there to help and she knows what she is doing and you will be better for it. Visited Mendocino a few weeks ago and, not surprising behavior on my part, left my wallet on top of my car and drove off. Some wonderful person dropped it off at this Fort Bragg WF location and Mariza called to let me know they had it. They shipped it to me free of charge to the east bay and it arrived 2 days later. She was so pleasant and accommodating. I'm sure this says something about their customer service as bankers as well! read more
