Have to make an appointment days ahead to speak to a banker, used to be able to just walk in and meet somebody within 5-10 minutes. Now they're closing 2 of the 3 branches closest to me plus a drive-up location. Might as well go with an online bank that gives better savings rate. To top it off I recently had a certificate mature, bank did not notify me at all before the maturity date so they rolled it over to another CD at a cheap rate and didn't say a word about it. When I caught it and met with a banker I was told WFB would waive the penalty for early withdrawal if I chose to invest that money elsewhere since they failed to notify me. For unknown reasons the transaction could not be concluded right then so I returned (with an appointment) the next day. That banker wouldn't even make eye contact with me when entering the branch and the branch manager came to me & says "lets talk in my office" then proceeded to firmly inform me that WFB would NOT waive the penalty and if I chose to withdraw I would take about a $350 hit. WFB calls this "courtesy", I call it "bad faith" if not outright lying. I'm looking around, my days there are numbered. I like my investment advisor there a lot but...

A small credit union based out of North Carolina that anyone in the nation can join if they join…read morethe North Carolina Consumers Council. At the time of this review, they have some of the lowest APR for vehicle loans for the general public - 2.49% for up to 84 months. Yet, there is some issues that they need to address especially since they service the entire nation - even if they are small. To join the credit union - they are still doing paper applications, which has to be mailed if you are out of state - no reason to do this anymore in 2020. Also no reason to send e-mails regarding your account instead of through a secure, internal messaging system. After one's credit is pulled for a loan is when you learn, that they have a monetary limit how much they will loan for a private sale. So this excludes high-end vehicles. This should be notated somewhere on their website or even before you apply for a loan. Speaking of the website, after you login, it could definitely benefit from upgrades at least in terms of navigation and options to the user - very basic. While the staff were friendly and quick to respond to my e-mails - they should probably have more staff on hand and adjust a few shortcomings - especially since anyone can join this credit union.

Their communication is horrible, they said they would call me back about this and never did then I got a letter in the mail from collections! Save yourself, if I could give 0 stars I would.

I recently needed to get something notarized and was dreading the trip to my bank (one of the "big…read morebox banks") that would probably eat up hours of my day. One suggestion came up that I should try calling Schwab to see if they offer the service, and they do!! Called ahead and Cooper told me that both persons manning the desk had the ability to notarize documents, no appointments needed. Later in the day, I made my way over to Schwab. The SouthPark location is super convenient, they have their own, dedicated parking lot that was easy to get in and out of. The counter is shared with TD Ameritrade, so once you figured out which side of the main desk to go to, it was a breeze. Cooper looked like he just came back from lunch, or a break but he remembered my voice from my phone query and we got to notarizing (with valid ID and documentation of course!) There was no line and the whole thing probably took 15min (I spent more time driving to the location I bet). Of course, I was only notarizing two documents (total of 6-8 pages of information for my professional engineering license... so I'm sure you need to allot for more time if you have a lot of paperwork to go through and review). It also helps that I am a Schwab account holder. Overall it was a great experience, and I need to think of them more often when I need to do "official business things" or in need of a notary.

I could not be happier with this bank! My husband and I have banked at First Citizens for over 17…read moreyears mostly at the Matthews branch. Last week the bank called to warn me that a credit card payment would not clear due to lack of funds in a business account. They assisted me with a transfer of funds to cover the payment in order to meet the 2 pm. deadline. They ultimately saved me a service charge of $36. I was very grateful! We have had a few other quirky situations with kid's in college and living out of state and I could call and get answers to my questions/problems. We have two business accounts, HELOC account and a joint checking and I will never leave First Citizens. We have banked at the big name banks and the turnover and personal service has never been there! You will always get a smile when you walk into First Citizens and I guarantee they will learn your name if you go regularly. Thank you for all you do!

This 1 star is truly giving them…read moreany kind of hope of being good, when they are simply terrible, unprofessional and downright useless. This branch along with the bank have offered me nothing short of the worst experience that I ever had with a bank. Not only did they completely messed up my account, they simply dropped the ball in every aspect of that situation. From changing their stories as to what happened to it went from the teller giving my money out to someone else to "they had no clue as to what happened" to later they place it on someone else's account to literally leaving me without any money in my account, and later trying to forced me to accept that their mistake is something that "usually happens". I can't describe the level of ineptitude that they run in this company. The icing on the cake? My account gets terminated, because the manager of the branch was upset that I did not allowed him to lecture me on the phone as to how I should feel when their employees are incompetent of doing their job. Here's a tip people: Don't place a complaint. IF you decide to do so, they will simply turn it against you, protect themselves, and they will make sure they'll get rid of you. After all, they are looking out for one thing and one thing only: Themselves. They aren't looking out for you or me, they are looking out ONLY for themselves. Anyway, I should've left a long time ago. After all, this is the same branch that every time me or my wife would come in to asked questions, they were simply rude and dismissive. Matter fact, I never fell that I was ever welcome. Even if I was nice, their attitudes were snobbish to say the least. Today I'm with a different bank, who offers me a lot of services, protects my account as they should and most importantly, they make me and my wife feel welcome to their bank, as if they are genuinely happy to see us.
