A settlement was offered, and the remainder was to be covered by GAP. The bank initially claimed they accepted it and needed time to "process." Instead, we spent over six weeks being harassed for a payment we were specifically told not to make. The bank then stated they "couldn't verify" that our insurance representative was legitimate -- which is absurd and unprofessional. After a formal credit complaint was filed, they suddenly accepted the same settlement they claimed they couldn't process. Today, my credit score dropped 65 points for their delay and incompetence. This bank's internal communication, accountability, and customer service are unacceptable. Their actions caused unnecessary stress, wasted time, and serious financial damage. My debit card had been charged almost $500 and Midwest would not refund all the funds, even though they had proof I was scammed but all they refunded me was $170. No matter if your debit cards have been lost accidentally, stolen, you having to get a new card due to scammers, they do not allow more than 5 cards EVER. Do not bank here, not to mention they charge $30 for overdraft protection in case you may ever make a mistake, or their "pending" goes through minutes before you make the deposit to cover what you spent. No understanding, no care.
