I started my loan with them in 2019, set up automatic payments, and paid every single month consistently through 2026 without missing a single payment. Then in 2025, they changed my monthly due date without proper clarity, which resulted in late fees being added month after month for an entire year. When I reached out and asked them to correct it and remove those fees, they refused. No accountability, no real customer support--just short-sighted decisions that show they don't value long-term customers. After years of on-time payments, this is how they treat you. I have a loan through Wells Fargo dealer services. My credit isn't the best however the amount of interest they are having me pay is insane. Truck payment is roughly 435 a month, they are taking half that in interest and only 235 or so is going to the loan. Never going to use Wells Fargo for auto loans. Companies claim that they have payment options for the customers when they need help due to unforseen circumstances but they don't. If you don't have anymore payment deferments then they can't assist with any thing but a payment arrangement. Nothing short of a nightmare. I didn't even get a loan through WFDS, but the application process was so horrendous I would think twice about using them even IF I did get approved. After 4 days and hours and hours on the phone with every different department, I was eventually told "I cant waste time talking to you about this anymore, I have to get back to work". After then going into a branch and the lovely banker spending over an hour and a half on HER side of the phone lines to get through to them, we finally got an answer. Wow so you guys are super annoying over $500.00??? I tried making a payment on 6/19 and for some reason it was reversed. I logged onto my WF account to realize this today 6/26 and paid the amount due. Then some major beeeotttchh calls acting like my account is over due and would not even willingly tell me what company she was calling from at first. Like as someone that is not accustomed to dealing with any type of bill collector nonsense I found the whole thing very offputting. She called after the payment was made which seems like a glitch in your system that 1) you are being so rude to customers over payments your system reversed for accounts they had more than enough money to pay ie. not insufficient fund issue and then 2) calling people after they have paid. So yeah you guys are annoying and from a customer service perspective a bit disjointed and super offputting. She wasted my time and then at the end tried to confirm my contact info. If I could give negative stars I would. We paid off our vehicle almost 4 yrs agob and received our title. All of a a sudden it shows up on our credit report as a charge off stating the account was in a negative standing. When questioned we received a letter stating the payment we made in September 2017 was returned and we would not receive our title until the account was settled. Truck loan. Any loan I have, I pay extra to shrink my principle balance. My first month with WFDS, I pay extra. Second payment statement - no reduction on my principle amount. But my second payment has been reduced by the "extra" I paid. I still pay the same amount thinking it was a misapplication of the funds. 3rd payment statement, even further reduced by the total "extra" I've paid. So, I call. GUESS What??? You have to be 3 MONTHS ahead on your payments before any additional funds pay down on your principle! This may be "LEGAL" but it is NOT ETHICAL. I've had 2 loans with this scum company and make no mistake they are NOT really Wells Fargo its another private company riding on WF name. I've paid early, always more than my payment and paid 1 loan off when traded in my first car, got the 2nd loan and had it for 3 yrs with no hiccups whatsoever. The refi wasn't like ok we will lower your rate and payment. From all of the other reviews, which I wasn't aware of previously, I see that the Wells Fargo Dealer Services (WFDS) have a reputation for providing bad services, inconsistent information when talking with various representatives, unethical practices and the inability to keep their word. Here is an overview of my concerns but as it was stated from the other reviews I do not to belabor things just want it to be known about their practices: I was trying to be proactive with WFDS when I begin to notice that my income was decreasing. I notified them and they suggested a refi. I applied for the refi and after my credit was run, WFDS indicated that I already had the best rate that they could offer considering that my vehicle was old. The only suggestion that they were able to provide was to apply for a refi again once more of the principal had been paid. In April, I began receiving calls from WFDS about my April's payment. I was informed that I owed a balance of $59 for April from a monthly payment of $335.76. From this call forward this is where the dishonesty, run around, red tape and lack of accountability that I began to receive from WFDS. I received another call about the $59 payment at which time I had the same type of discussion with this representative as I had before with other WFDS representatives. This representative informed me about the available options for those that are experiencing financial hardship: apply for a hardship refi (different from a regular refi) or apply for a deferment. I had begun this process early May and until now, June 1, 2017, I am still trying to get things resolved with them.More details available if needed. read more

O.K. so a tale of two car loans, one through our credit union and one through Wells Fargo Dealer Nightmare Services. About a year ago we found ourselves suddenly supporting 3 families one of which is a 91 year old man who served in two wars. The other our disabled grand daughter and family. Our Grand Daughter's mom and dad paid for food and utilities but expenses went through the roof for a few months. Paying assisted living for my dad-in-law is very expensive. Being pro-active I contacted all our creditors and explained this was temporary and we just needed time to get everyone back on their feet. All of our creditors were great including Wells Fargo (whom we have had a mortgage with for 15 years with no missed payments) Fast forward. Grand daughters mom and dad get back on their feet, dad-in-law moved to a less expensive apartment and qualified for help. So we started playing catch up. We missed a total of 3 payments on time with Wells Fargo, mind you these were only days late and they said no problem. We caught up and even paid off the mortgage and the car loan at the credit union. Mind you we went from having to pay just our bills to bills for 3 families (our kids paid us back by the way) Today Wells Fargo said we must pay all our remaining car payments to them in person with a certified check. SAY WHAT??? Why, never bounced a check. They were very insistent on this. So now we have to drive to the bank which they don't have many branches of in our area, AFTER we go to our Credit Union to get a certified check every month. Well nope. Tomorrow we go to the Credit Union and move the loan there. Why you ask did you get this loan through Wells Fargo? Well because we had a mortgage with them, we got a fantastic rate, which by the way was jacked up. Well not a big deal to Wells Fargo..hmmm nope sorry our relative took her money and pulled out as well after a long legal battle over her trust of several million dollars. Way to go Wells Fargo.... Our Credit Union BTW throughout all of this did what they could to help us through this...being very kind. Not once did they have an issue with us. We provided documentation all the way showing what was happening. read more

Sometimes you can call a company for a 2nd time, get a different representative and have a better experience after a bad one. It seems no matter how many attempts I make, I cannot find a rep who is capable of not being rude. Even after paying my car loan off, and paying on time throughout, there was a bank issue (nothing I caused) and the final payment was "stopped" (according to Wells Fargo) 3 TIMES!!!!!! In each attempt to resolve the issue, OBVIOUSLY attempting to pay the final payment multiple times, I was treated like a delinquent child who couldn't understand the simple process or my consumer rights. Do not finance throught this company. They represent thenslves as a credit rebuilder, not true. I missed payments after a year in good standing because the vehicle I purchased broke down and it cost me almost 1600 to fix. I called requesting a defferment however was told the expense did not qualify. Only to find out almost a year later that it apparently did. My credit took a hit from the late payments. I have now become debt free and my credit score has risen, however the late payments are the only thing effecting the credit score. I send a request to adjust the late payments being that my account has been in good standings for almost two years and is almost paid off. I recieved correspondence stating that an adjustment will not be done. This company is predatory in practice and takes advantage of those that may not have the best credit at the time you purchase the vehicle, but does nothing to keep customers. Terrible expeience, I will never use in the future nor will I reccommened them to anyine I know. Not sure how many times one needs to ask not to be harassed at my place of work or during business hours but they do not seem to care. The names given are bogus so they have now started a code system due to unethical behavior by their employees. I make my payments and their outdated system has no way to record transactions therefor I keep getting calls for payments made already. One arm does not know the other apparently and the lack of technology systems along with their highly unprofessional staff make dealing with them about as fun as getting teeth pulled. The many bad reviews were enought to make me refinance. After 12 months with Wells Fargo, I have now switched over to Capital one. However to be fair, i can only speak from my personal experience. When i got the financing from Wells Fargo, the rate was the lowest one out there, at 4.9% for a used car. The loan papers came in very fast, and they sent me all of my documents. At one point I had a quick question and called their 800 number. The representative was very nice and knowledgable. I kept the loan for 12 months, and when it came time to refinance, I did not have any issues either. After 10 days from getting my new lender, Wells Fargo had shown on their website that my loan had been paid off, zero balance. I always paid by bill 3 weeks early, and paid it manually instead of using auto pay. To be honest I did not have any issues with Wells Fargo at all. However to be on the safe side, I still refinanced my loan with a different bank that I've liked very much. So up to you. I guess if you're never late on payments, there are no issues. I received a car loan with them in 2012. I had so many problems with there customer service. They are ALWAYS rude over the phone and can't get anything corrected. I was almost done paying them off and then I get a statement in 2015 showing that my amount owed was 2 1/2 more than the month prior. And my payments were almost $100 more a month. I called to try and correct it and they would just hang up. I stopped paying on my loan and said they can just come get the car then. Now here in 2019 I just had a reimbursement check sent to me. Not very clear. Except that they screwed up on some law with my state and over charged me. And they are now corrected my credit for this and that my balances has been "waived". Haven't called to see if they are going to send my title. But it would be nice. Since I still have the car. They never even attempted to get the car. Hopefully they are correcting there system and there customer service people. But I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Ever on my life. read more

If your dealership EVER says your loan was approved by Wells Fargo, tell them no! Their automatic payment systems and website are a JOKE. I setup automatic payments as soon as our loan was approved, and they never debited my account properly. Furthermore, they charged me a late fee and NEVER bothered to contact my email or my personal cell phone number regarding the late payment (that shouldn't have been late in the first place). Their Mortgage division has shady practices - wouldn't surprise me that their Auto division does as well. I hope this company goes under and is never heard of again. read more

This company is completely unreasonable and just terrible. They are unwilling to budge on moving the due date more then 1 time in the ENTIRE life of your loan...I changed my due date once while in college near the beginning of my loan term and now 2 years later I requested to change it again and they absolutely refuse to do it! I pay rent, house bills, and child support on the first of the month and have much less bills on the 15th so it it simple I need to pay my note on the 15th. It gets better, they stated they give a 10 day window after the 1st to make a payment. Who the F cares? 90% of people in the WORLD get paid bi-weekly or monthly...how the F does it help me if I get paid on the 1st and 15th? I now have racked up over $60 in late fees over the past few months because THEY REFUSE to make a simple switch on due dates. Last but not least, they admitted to me that this complaint comes in all the time and that they tell every customer the same thing...hmmmm maybe if all of your customers are disgruntled and have the same issue its YOU not the customers. I have a loan with them currently, I have paid two years worth of payments on time and never late once. On the contrary I have paid each payment early and sometimes overpay to get principal down. I decided to sell my car due, the dealership requires a 10day pay off and full account number on the pay off letter. I called them and the representative was decent but he couldn't give me a pay off letter (weekend) and he said he couldn't email it to me either that it would have to be mailed to me! I find it hard to believe that there isn't a scanner in the company where they can email it to me, that just seems outrageous. On top of that I asked if it can be sent priority mail or overnight and he said it will most likely arrive on Friday I just dont understand how this acceptable. They lost my business as soon as I can get this sorted out I might change the review. PS, I know I can go online and download a copy of the payoff letter but due to the fact that the full account number isn't shown and that the 10 day pay off isn't shown the dealership just wanted to be safe so wtf ? read more

They locked me out of my account, so I spoke to a customer service representative. She didn't do her job correctly, later they took my car for repossession and didn't bother to send a notice. I am so close to just hiring a lawyer. On top of that, the towing company the hired - Tri-County adjusters gave us a lot of issues. From yelling at us, breaking glass items from my car and throwing them in a trashbag along with everything else, using my tolltag. The WORST company ever to have a loan with. The customer service has been lying to me and giving me the runaround for 4 months now regarding trying to get my title. I moved out of state and needed a copy to register the vehicle in FL, the said they lost it but would look into it to get me a copy. I keep calling back every few weeks and am told a different story by every person I speak with! I pay off the loan a year early in order to get the title and they still give me the runaround! They are liars and I am so angry with them I am closing my Wells Fargo bank accounts as of tomorrow. I called to ask for an arrangement to skip one payment, I've done this once with another bank with no problem at all, I just had to pay a fee for doing so, and I was expecting the same treatment at WF. Silly me, they not only didn't help me, the woman on the line, Angela, asked me for the reason I needed to skip the payment, and after I described it, she told me, very rudely: "that's not our problem, you have a contract with us and you have to comply with it. We can deferred the payment only if you have an emergency". Don't you think I know I have a contract with you???!! I am well aware of the fact!! That's why I'm calling you!! And, from my point of view, this is an emergency... I am not asking to erase the payment from my loan, I am just asking to send the payment to the end of the term and, if there is a fee for doing that, I am willing to pay it!! I just don't want to receive a call every day for being late in my monthly payment, nor to get charge outrageous late fees, being reported to the credit bureau and my credit score being negatively affected.
