It doesn't seem plausible to me that it would be necessary for them to be there since the fire department would be too busy dealing with a fire to talk to them. I realize that going to a fire is far more exciting than meeting with a prospective client. These last minute cancellations have happened to me twice before with other companies I have made appointments with in the past year. It must be clearly understood by the managers of these companies that people often times have to take time off from work and deal with other inconveniences to meet with workmen and last minute cancellations are unacceptable. You only get one chance with me. Next time I will reschedule and purposely miss the appointment and let them know what it's like to have someone waste your time.

The crew arrived early, worked in a highly productive manner throughout the day, finished each day leaving roof in a no risk protected condition from potential rain or wind and did not leave until all personnel participated in a thorough clean up of debris, including magnetic screening of lawn, gardens and driveways for nails.
