They've worked on my 73 Honda CB350F , my 78 Yamaha XS750, and now my 1980 Xs650. Ive gone in for tire changes, carb work, chain replacements, oil changes, electrical work, fork seals, brake fixes, and custom additions to my bikes. They not only fixed all problems i went in for, but also gave me feedback on any other problems they noticed while working on the bikes. They are fairly priced and are always able to work with you. Took my '72 CB175 in for a spark plug that was continuously fouling, they told me they could fix it but it could be a few issues, paid $550 and they told me the problem was solved (new coil and valve adjustment), but that I needed a carb clean that would be another 4-500 dollars, opted to do the carb clean myself, after my second ride on the bike the plug fouled again, I emailed the shop asking what my options were since they had told me the issue was solved, and they said, 'You were clear in discontinuing any further work. In addition to the weak spark you probably have fuel or air issues. We informed you there were further issues and you elected to not go further therefore we did not do any work that was not approved. It is not surprising that there are multiple contributing factors to your vintage bike running issues.' They basically said I was out of luck, $550, plus the problem still exist. I took my '07 Harley FLHTCU in for new rubber. The service was top notch. Knowledgable and friendly folks that greeted me when I arrived. Good prices, quick service. They don't sell tires there. I believe they get them from "Let It Ride", on Colfax. But they handled all that for me. It turned out that Let It Ride didn't have my tires in stock, but WellsMoto got them to overnight the tires, and had my bike ready the next day anyway - just as promised! They do a lot of metrics there, but I would trust them with my Harley anytime. read more

I am on a cross country motorcycle trip on a 2014 Honda CB1100 that started in NY 3 weeks ago. When I called Wells when I got to Golden CO, they told me to come right in. They took care of everything I needed in one day. I explained to them about the trip I was on and how important the bike is to me. I feel like they went above and beyond to make sure the bike had everything it needed. They explained everything clearly and I thought the bill was fair. These guys seem to be running the shop because it's what they want to do and because they love bikes. I really haven't seen this for a while. I loved seeing all the old Honda CB's out front. I brought my '05 wr450 here and asked to have it rejetted for the high altitude having moved from Utah. It was running very poorly and would die at an idle. They called in saying it was fixed and I was dropped off to drive it home. They said it didnt need to be rejetted and had only needed the spark plug tightened and an oil change. About ten minutes into my ride home it died at a stop light and my battery and starter that worked perfectly fine would not even turn the bike over. I proceeded to kick start it for about ten minutes with no luck. I spent about a half hour pushing it back to the shop where they told me it needed a new battery. After waiting for them to put in a brand new battery it still would not even click and they said my starter motor had just died. I found that hard to believe and asked if they tried shorting the starter solenoid to see if my starter was shot and they said yes it was. My seat was still off so I took a screwdriver and shorted the solenoid and the bike started cranking over but wouldnt run. I ended up leaving the bike with them asking them to please rejet it and get it to where it'd idle and got a ride home. They called me later that week saying the bike didnt idle because I had a rekluse clutch and they couldn't spend the money for all the rekluse parts to tune it and recommended I take it somewhere else. I ended up putting it in my truck and taking it back to my place where I found a disconnected wire for the ignition. After reconnecting the wire and rejetting by myself I have a perfectly running bike. This shop might be good for your vintage bikes but if you have aftermarket parts or electrical issues this might not be the safest place to go. read more

Kevin and Ben did a stellar job when I needed a fast job on the go as I was driving through town across the country, and only in Denver for one month. My kickstand was totaled by a mechanic in Moab, UT (won't name names), and I needed a second opinion on my oil idiot light (turned out to be a loose ground, nothing to suggest a crisis, as I suspected). The two were not only extremely fast, easygoing, and professional. They were skilled and modest, while easy to relate to. They joked with my friend and I while working and asked us questions about our trip, while giving us local restaurant tips and even throwing in a few extra touch-ups on my bike that I hadn't noticed needed doing: e.g., adding air pressure to the front forks and front tire, checking my sparkplugs (just in case). For the first time ever I found a mechanic who was not trying to screw me over. Reasonable prices is an understatement for this place. They fixed everything quickly and even took the extra time to wipe down the bike. The guys are extremely knowledgeable in any bike you could throw at them. I am so thankful there is still some honest repair places left like them. If you have any issues with your bike, I highly suggest you bring it to them. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend them! STOP DON'T DO IT... I brought my 2003 triumph Bonneville in they said they diagnosed it with a seized engine. They said they wanted to buy it and I agreed on 1800 dollars. I was looking on Craigslist today found my bike running and driving.they are asking $4300 for this bike.I called them and asked if they did any work too it. The mechanic saw my name on the caller ID and asked me if it was me knowing that it was my bike.I asked what they found wrong with it and he told me that it was a crushed oil tube. they could have called me and told me that it was just that crushed oil pipe and let me buy it back plus whatever took to fix it but these people did not. How low is this. I thought these people were trustworthy unfortunately not so. I would not trust these people with any of my vehicles again. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and my lawyer. read more

Two words best describe this shop. Incompetent, overpriced. I went in for a simple clean and adjust of my chain...They did the job in the time it took me to smoke a cig and asked for $37. They had over tightened the chain sooo much that i crashed and had my front tire go flat so i walked the bike back to the shop and all they did was replace the valve stem and told me good luck trying to sue us....... read more

I was a little skeptical about dealing with a mechanic I found on CL, but was pleasantly surprised with the level of service, and professionalism exhibited at Wells Moto! I was an extremely new rider, and riding a bike most people would shy away from for there first ride. That being said Kevin, and his partner there have kept me up, and fully functional all season last year! These guys do everything and anything you could need, they are affordable, honest, and legit. With me being such a noob last year these guys even counseled me on some points in order to improve my riding. I am deeply appreciative of their services, and I hope they stay and grow! I would routinely use these guys for tire mounting, chain tightening, oil changes, plastics replacement, etc. They especially "like" it when you order aftermarket fairings and the holes don't match. They are always up for a challenge! Give these guys a shot and you'll be glad you did! Not to mention they had an awesome BBQ to commemorate the new signage!
