I can barely function. I have severe sciatic nerve issues causing me extreme pain. I have numbness that is increasingly getting worse. I can't even walk for more than a few minutes without becoming unstable on my feet. He didn't bother to ask questions about it and was completely dismissive towards me. He asked me if I wanted an MRI. I said since I could HARDLY function, I would think it would be necessary, but he acted like he could care less if I had one done. I now have to start all over and find another doctor because there is no way I would ever let him treat me for anything. Useless... a complete waste of time and money. When someone goes to see a specialist, it is because they need care. To have a doctor express no concern for a patient or not bother to listen to them or take them seriously should not be treating anyone.

They made me feel comfortable going into the process like they had everything covered. I felt informed going into the procedure. They and everyone I talked to leading up said it would be easier with a donor because I could wait up to 6 years without one. So my best friend of 15 years stepped up and donated! She loved her coordinator and kept in touch a lot with questions. I only heard from mine about quarterly. I was told I needed to seek therapy for my anxiety and depression so I did, which was useful for me. Time for the transplant part. Surgery went well. After checking in we were brought back within 30 minutes. We were allowed to have 1 person with us to wait. Post op was worse for me than it was for my donor. I won't go into the complications I had with my stay in the hospital. They sent her out on a pain drip but I had to request 5mg every 6 hours? There was no communication between any of my care team throughout the recovery. My education went well but was hard to understand but they gave me plenty of reading material and things to try and make it easier. They gave me an excellent pill organizer large enough to hold all of my meds. I had never had a large procedure like this before that I had not been sent home on any anti anxiety medication to get me through at least 2 weeks post op. Especially with a the trauma I had endured throughout that time. My visits after we're long and inconvenient because of the wait time got longer and longer waiting for a Dr to come in for 5 minutes ask me how I was and then give me my next apt. I had to leave at least twice due to inconvenience with it and had to make first available apts. which they later told me would not be an option for me.

My dad receives outstanding care in the assisted living community. His apartment is always clean and his laundry done. He adores the staff and medical care team. Upon move in, he was frequently checked on and asked how he could be helped (by multiple people). They even introduced him to other residents so he has never had to eat alone. The activities have kept him entertained and socializing with his new pals. He loves that the staff call him Mr. Dave and treat him like an old friend.
