Probably to sell to the people that sit out front in the parking lot One of my favorite things is they paint lines in the floor, like in prison, and they literally scream at you if you veer off the line. Started pain management on 8/3/23 almost a year to the date of being released from the hospital on 8/4/22 after a near fatal motorcycle accident that crushed my left side. Initial impression was not good. Is not like any medical facility I've ever experienced. Initial exam, and I use the term exam lightly, was a joke. But still they put me on 7.5/325 oxycodone/acetaminophen 3 times a day. Fast forward to 10/24/23 I am scheduled for a major surgery on my left femur and fibula which happens to be same day my pain prescription is supposed to auto refill. It does not. As of today, 10/31/23 I have still not received any pain medication. Something about prior authorization which this places answer was to send to it me, which isn't how that works as a pharmacy can only accept that from the doctors office, not the patient. After several unanswered calls I call on 10/30/23 and ask to speak to the doctor. I'm told by the telephone nurse that I'm not allowed to talk to the doctor and I have to speak to her and if I don't like it I can go elsewhere. So I call back to make a complaint and to leave pain management unless they can fix this. They take the message and say someone will call me back to file the complaint. Guess who the person who's in charge of handling complaints? Yup, the nasty and disrespectful telephone nurse. She calls was very sorry I was treated this way and that she'll do everything she can to fix my issues. She then realized that she's the person the complaint was on. She says" wait, I talked to you this morning. I didn't talk badly to you. " she then pauses as she realizes she did. Says "o o o I'm going to discharge you." Then immediately hangs up the phone. She knew she was wrong and she knew she could cover it up to protect her job. Meanwhile leaving a patient in extreme pain after a major surgery for 8 days and counting now. This place is run by trash. The offices look trashy and just give a trashy vibe. I don't know what the scam is but it's definitely not about helping injured people get better or deal with the pain. The only thing I can think it's a scam to bill Medicare for everything they can get while offering as little as possible to the patients. Stay away go elsewhere, to be honest you're better off dying than going here. **update** Shortly after posting this review I received a phone call from their offices concerned about my complaint. Which they thought was only about a scheduling issue, it was not. They were all prepared to do whatever they needed to reschedule me and fix this nonexistent issue. Once they found out it was not a scheduling issue and it was the fact I was treated horribly by the telephone nurse, Trisha Madsen, and left without meds after a major surgery still to this date 11/02/23 it was an o ok have a nice day. Without a doubt this is a sham office solely for the purpose of billing Medicare for profit. As I thought back on it more I realized that my first visit the dr was literally coaching me on what to say and do so he could accept me as a patient and bill my insurance. read more

I have been going here for pain treatment for over 10 years. Do I still feel pain? yes, but the only way to completely stop the amount of pain that I have would be to over medicate me. I still have pain but it's controlled enough for me to function. The providers are always willing to listen to what I have to say. There have been problems getting my medication approved through my insurance but, I think it's partially due to the hoops that my insurance requires them to jump through. if you want enough pain control to be able to function without going overboard this is the place to go. read more

if I could have given no stars for this office I would have. I was referred to this office in the Fall of 2017. I have been on disability due to a car accident since 2009 and had left my prior pain mgmt office due to the way staff treated the patients. I had read the few reviews of this place and it scared me to death but I tried to stay positive that I would be treated professionally. The amount of paperwork I had to fill out prior to even getting an appointment was beyond ridiculous, they did not make it easy as their forms could not be completed using a smartphone but only a computer, thus I had to use the library to do the forms. I finally was given an appointment with Dr. Laura Hummel. I waited close to 4 hours in the waiting room. When I was finally called back I was told my RN friend that drove me could not come back with me. I have never heard of a policy like this and my first question is what are they trying to hide? Well it turns out a lot. I was would be refused an exam if my friend went back with me so I had no choice but to go back alone. They brought me to a room that wasnt even big enough to be an exam room. There was no overheard lights, just a desk lamp and a candle, quite unusual for a practice that treats physical ailments. Next thing I notice was a pretty desk sign that said "the pain medication you prescribe to a patient rarely gets dispensed to that patient". I was appalled and knew this was going to be bad. Dr. Hummel finally came in and I knew immediately that this appointment was a big mistake. She immediately questioned my medications and said I was lying, that my previous doctor would never prescribe those. Funny I had all my bottles with me that stated exactly who wrote the meds, but she didn't bother to look at that. Next she asked why I was there. I told her that I wanted a 2nd opinion, I was tired of being treated poorly and that when I had wanted to get a 2nd opinion the office discharged me. Again she accused me of lying, that she knew of no office that would fire me for wanting a 2nd opinion. She half heartedly looked at me when I stood and had me walk on my tip toes, that was the extent of the physical exam. She proceeded to tell me that I had 1 leg longer than the other and that was my only problem, nothing Tylenol and warm baths wouldn't fixed. I questioned her than why have I been on disability for so long and why have I gone thru every treatment possible with no results? Who in their right mind that was faking it would ever subject their body to the intense pain these procedures produce? Not me for sure. I mentioned that I had a lift in my right shoe as I have a shortened Achilles tendon from how I walk due to my hip. She said that's impossible, that's the leg that is longer. I showed it to her and she told me my podiatrist was wrong and I did not have a shortened tendon. She never once even touched my body to examine me and just got ruder by the minute until she came out and accused me of being a pill seeker and then kicked me out of her office. I have never had anyone in the medical profession ever treat me the way Dr. Hummel did. She actually had me wondering was it all in my head. Thank goodness I came to my senses and did get referred to a different pain management office in Louisville. Funny they immediately diagnosed me with SI chronic pain, which is what my doctors in Michigan had all diagnosed as well. I am now going on my third SI injection this coming week. But oh I forgot, I'm just faking it. Stay clear of this horrible office, unless you want to be treated like nothing more than a liar and drug addict. read more
