Small Town Life Has Its Perks…read more People love to fuss about small towns. Everybody knows your name, and yes, sometimes they know your business too. But let me tell you, every now and then that is not a bad thing. Earlier today my phone rang and it said Town of New Llano. My first thought was "oh no." It was the water department. They called because when they read my meter, my water usage had jumped way higher than normal. They saw no green grass, due to drought conditions, and no water pouring out of my house, so they figured it had to be a leaking toilet. And they were right. So what did I do? I thanked them, drove straight to Lowe's, and here I am about to change out the guts of a toilet. Not the most glamorous part of being a homeowner, but it has to be done. Living in a small town really does come with perks. When the water department notices something is off, they pick up the phone. They don't want your bill to skyrocket. They don't want a small problem turning into a big one. They just want you to know so you can take care of it. And today, I appreciated that more than ever. Thank you New Llano for being a great place to live!!!
