Northern Californians have known about Satsuma mandarins much longer than the rest of the world. Satsumas are the very best of the seedless tangarines. Their skins are so easy to peel they almost fall off. Each mandarin section is a perfect bite size treat. They can also be juiced or made into jam. At Doering's you drive through the orchard to get to the shop. Your GPS will help you. I buy from Doering's because I know the mandarins are farm fresh and their service is fantastic. Please see my photos, this is a hands on, family run business. This year they boxed up twenty pounds of mandarins which I took back to So Cal on the airplane as checked baggage. The mandarins arrived in perfect condition. My only regret is that I should have bought 40 pounds. They make perfect gifts. Satsumas do have a fairly short season so call before you go.

I grew up in this area and would always drive by that big grey house and wonder who lived there. I called Jamie, the owner of the olive business, about having a wedding there and he made my day by saying yes. They had other events there, but we were their first wedding. We went and tried the olive oil and were so pleased that we ordered them as wedding favors for our guests. I have to say that the whole experience was amazing. Our wedding was so beautiful and Jamie is the nicest guy and so accommodating!! I wish I could tell more people about this gem!!
