Glad that The Truffle Shop was open on Monday when I stopped in looking for some shade an a cooler spot to be for a bit. The collection of hand-crafted truffles was not only beautiful and wildly unique with its flavor profiles, but complimented by the artistic space of the petite shop. It was all a visual delight, before even getting to choosing the chocolates. As it was a warm day, I didn't order as many as I might have otherwise as I was sure that the truffle treats would melt before we could enjoy them properly - savoring each tasty bite. I did get a dark chocolate/cherry one for me, and Matcha tea flavor for Dear Hubby, who wasn't with me at the time. I had a nice chat with the gentleman running the shop. He may have been the owner, coming from the back with a tray of more truffles to fill out the display cases. Thankfully on a warm afternoon, they had chilled bottled water for sale, too. After making my purchase and taking a few photos of the whimsical interior, I sat and enjoyed my truffle at the little bistro table in the outside hallway. It was a perfect little respite before more strolling on Broad Street again.

I paid because I only had an hour for lunch and needed to eat. I got my mocha and sat down to wait for my sandwich. As I waited, I noticed several people who ordered after me receiving their food while I was still sitting there. About 15 minutes later, I finally received my to-go sandwich. When I opened the container, it was obvious it had been sitting there for a while. The sandwich was sweaty, and half of it was soggy. Apparently, they had forgotten to bring it to me. By that point, my mocha was already gone before I had even started eating. The BLT itself was made on regular-sized sandwich bread, and the tomatoes and bacon were good. But $34 for a basic BLT and a small iced mocha is outrageous, especially considering the wait and the condition of the sandwich when I finally received it. I will not be going back. The prices are simply far too high for what you get.

Overall, I would dine here again, but not during the busy dinner service. I would come during off hours only or be seated for dinner at 5 PM before the rush.

This is an adorable chocolate shop with a bright and cheery vibe. The owner is a really good guy who knows his chocolate. I am a connoisseur of dark chocolate, and Choquiero dark chocolate is the best of the best. I highly recommend checking this place out if you or anyone you know loves chocolate. All was going fine, and we were happily bopping to the music while my pastry was being heated, but my pup yelped at a clearly non-dog person and the manager (?) came out screaming at me "THAT DOG CANNOT BE IN HERE!!" I am happy to avoid businesses with anti-dog policies if they are posted (was not). And, by law, a business has to ask you if it's a service animal before asking you to leave. Regardless, I would have been happy to leave with my already purchased product, but the woman kept screaming while I was waiting for them to hand me my pastry. I was so embarrassed and angry with her attitude, I spilled my coffee on the sidewalk outside as I was trying to get away from her. There are service-oriented ways to address this type of situation - yelling at your customers is not one. Especially followed by a snide "have the day you deserve" as I was leaving. I will never return and will discourage others. Ftr, went to Flour Garden and after hearing the story, they gave me a discount on my replacement latte. The pastry sucked, by the way - overdone on the outside, claggy on the inside and no flavor.
