I have Anthem HMO insurance and my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Wendy H. Wu. At first, the office was trying to schedule me about a week and a half out, even after I called back several days in a row hoping for something sooner because of the pain from a corn under my foot. Thankfully, I was able to get an earlier appointment due to another patient canceling. I went to the Monterey Park location, and the receptionists were very helpful in finding me the earliest available opening. Dr. Wu was able to remove the corn and treat the area during the visit. I appreciated being able to get seen sooner; it was a blessing. Plenty of parking in the back of the building her office is located on the second floor. read more

Dr. Wu is not a good listener. She's dismissive and thoughtless. I tell her I have a lot of pain in my foot; she tells me my foot looks fine and that maybe I should walk for 20 minutes a day. Wow... I work construction all day and she thinks I just sit around. Dr. Wu does not care. You're just another number for her to bill. If you're looking for neglect, this is your foot doctor. Office receptionist was rude and dismissive. Dr Wendy was condescending, rushed and dismissive as well. She spoke so fast and didn't care if patient understood, but more importantly, she didn't take the time to listen and properly diagnose my injury. Even though I had a bad experience at their San Gabriel office, I was willing to give her Monterey Park office a chance, but it was worse. Well, I almost didn't go to see Dr. Wu because of the one-star ratings. In February of this year. I saw a podiatrist and had x-rays. She determined that I had stress fractures and swelling in my right heel. She fixed the stress fractures, but the swelling was still there. I tried to get a hold of my podiatrist for a month after that, she wouldn't return my calls, so I called other recommended podiatrists. They wouldn't be able to see me for three months, so I gave Dr. Wu a call. She could see me the following week. I went into Dr. Wu's office and was greeted by a militaristic office staff. I saw Dr. Wu. She wanted to see my foot x-rays. I told her I didn't have them. I had called the previous foot doctor numerous times to get them, but she wouldn't let me have them. Dr. Wu had a member of her office staff come in. They asked a few questions. FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER, THEY HAD MY XRAYS ON DR. WU's computer. WOW- her staff may not be the most personable people, but they are EXCEEDINGLY efficient! Dr. Wu is a very strict, tell it like it is doctor, which I really like. I brought in several pairs of shoes. She showed me which ones to wear and which ones not to wear. She assessed my problem, gave me a shot and, for the first time in two years, I have no swelling pain in my foot!. She was even able to schedule a follow up appointment before my planned long trip.! When I get back in the fall, she will have me start physical therapy to make sure that this pain never happens again. In short, if you want to deal with nice office staff and a friendly inefficient doctor, go somewhere else. If you want your problems solved, go to Dr. Wu. Dr. Wu's office staff are the most efficient office staff I have ever met, and that's what counts. Dr. Wu herself has a strong personality, and she takes care of things! read more

I was referred to this Dr. by my Family Doctor. I called on 2/16/2024 around 3:30 to schedule an appointment, but the lady answering the phone said she needed my medical insurance information. I told her that my doctor gave me Referral Approval number, so she can type that number into their system, so she can see all my information, including my insurance information. - She told me no, I need your insurance, so I called my Doctor, and they confirmed that all they need is the Referral Approval Number, so they can access all my info, but they told me to get their fax number, so they could fax it to them, so I called again, the same lady answer the phone, she gave me fax# 626-312-2002, then I called my Family Doctor again, gave them the fax number. - I waited around 30 minutes, I called the new Doctor's office again, and the same lady answered the phone, she told me that she didn't receive the fax. - so you can see what I went through with this new Doctor's office, and they never called me back to schedule an appointment. - Do Not waste your time with this doctor's office. - I will take my business to another Doctor, someone who wants new business. read more

My family and I have never met a more rude, impatient, and abrasive doctor our lives! I was shocked when my mother came out of the appointment fuming and upset due to Dr. Wu's rude and pompous attitude towards her and my grandmother. And note: my mother and grandmother are usually very polite and repectful, and would never initiate being the aggressor. Appointment took less than 5 minutes and the doctor didn't give us the time of day to ask any questions or voice our concerns. Anything we asked, her response was "Am I the doctor or are you?" Or "just use common sense," said to us in the most belittling way. This review does not reflect on her knowledge or expertise. However, it does not sit well with me that a health care professional could treat their patients like dirt. Have some compassion. Would never recommend this practice to anyone. read more

One of the worst doctors I've ever had in my life. Always seems to be in a rush, looks rather annoyed when you ask questions and the worst front desk in the world. I was referred here because of my health insurance and would recommend to anyone that they should ask for a different podiatrist because this one is just not worth putting up with. read more

There's lots of street parking and a few in the rear. So, parking's easy. Came here to see Dr. Wu, very nice and caring doctor. The staff is helpful and funny. The place is very clean, including the restroom and patient rooms, and the outside. Will do a follow up later here, thank you very much for your time and help Dr. Wu and staff!!! read more

Quick Tip: If you are visiting this office and are part of an HMO the first visit is for a consultation only and NOT treatment. Was very disappointed in the standard of care from this office. I wasn't even sure that I met with an actual doctor. The "consultation" reviewed the procedure and the lengthy number of visits it would take to complete. I was referred here because of my health insurance and would recommend others to request a different podiatrist. read more

Not a good experience. Two weeks after my consultation, I am still waiting on the doctor to provide the results on my lab work. And not once has there been any follow up. Worst experience I've had with a doctor. I went to see Wendy Wu a few weeks ago, the receptionist took my insurance information and told me I wouldn't have to pay anything unless I got x-rays. Wendy came in and talked to me for less than 5 mins, gave me some 10 cent heel pads and left. A few weeks later I get a bill in the mail for $157!!! The original bill was $250 and my insurance paid $93, I called the office and they transferred me to some really rude and aggressive lady that said the receptionist was wrong and I had to pay the $157 when all she did was give me some 10 cent heel pads!! It was a complete sham of a doctor's visit, she represents everything wrong with American doctor's greedily overcharging patients and even lying to us about the charges. read more

Dr. Wendy Wu is by far the worse medical professional I have ever been to. She lacks patience with her patients. She needs to reeducate herself on bedside manner and take a few business courses to realize that the customer (or in this case patient) is always right and should be treated with respect. A degree does not mean you automatically can demand respect. Dr. Wu did not treat me poorly when I saw her, but she knew I would not take her attitude... She, however, treated my elderly mother horribly. Yelling at her and scolding her for going in to see her too often. I'm sure it is motivated by the fact that she does not receive much money from my mothers insurance, but if she is a medical professional, she has taken an oath to help... Regardless of the money. Don't waste your time or money on Dr. Wendy Wu. There are plenty of D.P.M.s out there that are more qualified and have better bed side manners. read more

For over a year I've had numbness in my toes. I've seen two internists and a rheumatologist, and finally asked for a referral to a podiatrist. Both internists said that was a waste of time, but my HMO said I could see Dr. Wu. Reading the reviews here, I wasn't excited about the HMO's choice, but given a lack of other options, I decided to go ahead. All I can say is that the doctor (and office staff) I saw today bear no resemblance to what's described in the other reviews here. More importantly, for the first time I have a plausible explanation for the numbness. Dr. Wu said that my shoes are simply too large, they don't grip my feet well, and the numbness is coming from the repetitive trauma of my toes hitting the front of my shoes. That explains why the problem first started with a new pair of shoes (first internist said that was coincidence), and why it affects both feet (other internist suggested that meant some sort of systemic neurological problem). Dr. Wu gave me a prescription for an anti-inflammatory gel, told me to switch to open-toed shoes for a few weeks, and told me to come back if things weren't improved, although she was confident that they would be. All I can say is I'm REALLY glad I ignored the reviews here and saw this doctor. I finally have some hope that this problem will go away. I'm off to buy new shoes :-). read more

Today January 10, 2013 I took my mother to see Dr. Wu for the first time. The office staff was very efficient and handled all of my mother's paperwork right away. We did not have to wait long to be seem by Dr. Wu. After examining my mother's feet Dr. Wu was very patient to explain how she will handle my mother's case. Dr. Wu is a great doctor and very experienced. My daughtor got a warts on her foot. Dr. Wu explained very carefully and did a treatment on her foot. The wound of the warts just followed exactly what she said, and is completely healed now. Just 1 treatment, we don't even need a follow up visit. I will recommend Dr. Wu to anyone I know who needs a Podiatrist Doctor. read more

My mother got a pressure sore on her heel from a recent hospital stay. My mother's primary doctor referred us to Dr. Wendy Wu. Dr. Wu was very professional and caring. My mother is 80 years old. Dr. Wu was very patient with her. She also referred us to a couple of good doctors in other specialties for my mother. I found out she received training at Cedar Sinai. I am glad to see more younger generation of doctors working in this area. read more
