She had a great location to take us to, was very helpful before the shoot when I contacted her in a existential crisis about what to wear, and even made a pinterest board to share with me about outfits/poses. I haven't done a photo shoot or taken many pictures since last summer, because I had brain surgery that left me with facial paralysis and very self conscious. Chelsea was very empathetic and thought about this fact both before and after the shoot. She thought of poses beforehand where I would be comfortable, and asked multiple times during the shoot if I was comfortable with the angle at which I was facing the camera. She was able to think in the moment when the light wasn't optimal to still get some great shots while we were waiting for the light to change, she hiked with us to get to the best spot for shots, and even waded into a stream with me at the end of our shoot to get a couple of shots I wanted! One of my outfits was red and it really popped on the black couch and the contrast was awesome. One of my outfits was black and he had me sitting by a black velvet curtain. The colors just melded together and didn't look good at all. My third outfit was a baby blue and white lace outfit and the photos were taken on a white bed. The lace just got lost in the sheets. Their prices are higher than some of the other local studios. My photo book, was about $600, not including the session fee.

I'm going to cut to the chase. This is going to be a glowing review of Jessica and her team in…read moreevery way. I have a bad habit of setting vague, yet high expectations of things, and our wedding photography experience was certainly subject to this. Three Region Photography delivered and excelled in ways I couldn't have imagined. My wife and I got married at a farm thirty minutes outside of town about a little more than three weeks ago (we already have our photos, by the way). A short ceremony started at 3:30 in the afternoon, and a reception followed that sprawled all across the vast venue space on the property. Let me list just a few of the obvious challenges that this posed to our photographers: 1) From a photography standpoint, a short ceremony means there isn't a ton of time to find good angles and composition before the vows, rings, and first announcement. 2) That's a lot of space for two people to cover, and when the bride, groom, wedding party, and families are floating all over the farm, you have to make decisions about where to be at what times, risking missing something somewhere else. 3) In mid afternoon, the sun is shining through the trees on the foreground (and often uninhibited on the background) of every scene you look at. The contrast that this creates often leads to images that draw your eyes to the background, or some oddly lit object off to the side. My point is that it couldn't have been easy, but the beauty of the product that Three Region Photography delivered to us cannot be overstated. When I take a picture of something, I look at it later and simply say, "Oh yeah, that happened." When I went through the album that Jessica sent to us, the feelings, emotions, and sensations from each moment returned to me as clearly as if I'd been transported back. In the shoots that we did together, Jessica gave us a sense of comfort necessary to capture those intimate moments. She's hysterical, talented, has outstanding instincts, and will work long hours to make sure her clients get photos that are more than colorful rectangles. They are little portals back to those experiences.
