By far the worse Wendy's I have ever visited. Only customer in line but way to long to take order ( girl with supervisor shirt on walked right past me sweeping floor as my order still hadn't been taken) , then receipt didn't work on cashier machine, drink machine not working took 5 minutes for server to make my drink and the way servers looked at me I thought maybe something was done to my drink, seriously. Then when I got my food, both ketchup dispensers were completely empty (no ketchup). I went back to counter and no one in sight.. then noticed they were huddled in the back.. when I said can I get some ketchup gal with cutter looking utensil looked at me as if I ruined her day by asking for ketchup. And right now just this moment when I am writing review a couple with 2 kids just left as no one would come up and take their order. Again no one else in line. Terrible service and place! Question: Does the owner live outside the country? I don't expect these young workers to fix the soda machine.. but couldn't they take order within a few minutes.. use cashier machine that prints a receipt ( or are they all not printing?) I got tired of waiting and started to leave, but just kept waiting for order to be taken.. I shouldn't have.. I'd much rather spend my $13 bucks somewhere else.. my review and advice is for you to do likewise... even though I hate seeing boarded up businesses in Platte City.. it would prevent such a bad lunch experience for our residents and those traveling threw. Waited 10 to 15 minutes in line and mind you nobody was in the drive-thru & the parking lot was pretty much dead. And I literally received the most nasty and coldest stale food I've ever eaten in my life. And this was also a pickup order. Ice cold fries and nuggets. Burgers were cold and the buns were hard as rock on the bottom but soft on top. Tell me how this happens and there was about 6 to 7 employees on duty and I only was able to see 2 actually working and the rest of them on their phones and cluelessly walking around. And some friendly advice Wendy's make sure your store is clean I saw more things wrong in that place just staring through the drive through window. And I've worked for this Wendy's back in high school and this would have never happened. But I guess times are changing huh? read more

The service at the counter was not especially cheerful, but it was fast, and my frosty tasted great on a warm summer day. This location had more staff on hand compared to other locations to ensure speedy service. I liked the clean dining area, and the free wi-fi, but there was no background music. Absolute shit and the staff is rude! They never gave us a receipt and when making the comment that they forgot half our order, well "you need to call before coming up here". How about you give us the whole order we purchased the first time so we don't have to come back up to fix what you screwed up! I don't recommend eating at this Wendy's period. First impression...bathroom was a mess. 2 tables eating, apparently 1 was kids of an employee. Employees talking and seemingly friends....they seem to have fun. Ordered a #1 with single burger. Food came out quickly, because it was cold. Fries were cold...odd taste and burger was cold. Not even heat lamp warm. read more

Went through drive thru to pick up mobile order. Got home and went to take a bite of my burger. It was so hard ( both top and bottom) that I couldn't even bite through it. Called store and was told they were sorry and they knew they were having issues with the buns. Uh HELLO! Why would you not at least check them before sending out or tell customers of the issue and substitute a different bun. I even called the 800 # just to set on hold for over 15 minutes before hanging up (no live person ever answered, just automated and put on hold). I tried to contact them via the chat on mobile. It said I was first in line. 10 minutes later still no one shows in chat. So I went to contact through email and their site wouldn't work properly on identifying the said restaurant ( even put in store # 8080) By now I'm not too happy! I understand that this is fast food and don't expect 4 or 5 star food or service but let's be real! If Dave was alive, there would probably be many people in the unemployment line for such blatant inferior customer service and product! Whoa, worst experience at a fast food place, EVER. First, no heat. As in its 36 degrees outside AND inside. And we had driven 3 hours so were desperate to get out of the car. Oh well, we kept or coats on and hoped for the best. Got our food in, probably, 5 seconds. Not a good sign. I was right. Basic burgers and fries. Cold as the dining room. Hadn't eaten in 5 hours so we scarfed half the burgers and maybe a third of the fries. But we will NEVER stop at this Wendy's again. read more

I agree with a previous customer. Food quality is consistent, but most importantly is the service. People makes up the establishment, and this group of young people at this Wendy's is above and beyond the norm you typically see at a fast food restaurant. As a teacher, I experience sadness each day from seeing many of our young people's attitude about education and work ethics. This Wendy's group of young worker is an exception to the rule. Wendy's is doing something right in recruiting an elite group of young workers. Or is it because the parents in Platte City are exceptional on raising great kids. Wow. Never have I been shamed for needing to drink water, but some how this store pulled it off. My husband ordered a frosty and large ice water for me, as that is all I can have due to a chronic condition, and his meal. The lady rushed through repeating it and then added a small water on the screen before telling us to pull forward. My husband very nicely asked the woman at the first window to please change it to a large and that we would pay for it if necessary. She also spoke to someone on her headset and advised of the change. We got to the second window and the blonde woman at that window attempted to hand my husband a small ice water. My husband asked again for a large. The woman then yelled at my husband that "they arent supposed to do that". He then explained again that we would pay for it, but that I needed a large. She attempted to close the window, which didnt close all the way, before she turned around and started talking about us to the other employees. She finally gave us a large ice water, told us to ask and pay for a soda next time, and threw the bag of food at my husband saying "have a nice day" and turning around and laughing. read more

They took forever for our order and even forgot our chocolate frosties. The fries were cold and gross. After placing a large order of fries at the drivethrough, we had a long wait time when there was only 2 vehicles ahead of us. Finally received our fries. They were barely warm and we only received a container that was barely over half filled. They closed the service window and never looked back at us. The food was good, but it took a while to get my food when my companion got theirs faster. And I got something different from what I ordered. The staff was courteous but it was like they weren't really paying attention to the customer(s). And I've worked in the food industry myself and noticed that one of the staff touched and roughed up her hair around the food (yes it was covered, but still). My husband and I came here yesterday (May 28). We don't have a Wendy's in our hometown so we like to visit them when we are out and about. Our food came out warm, fresh, and the service was wonderful. I was very impressed with their soda machine, which offers many different variations of the Coca Cola classics (for example, instead of a Sprite you can get a grape Sprite, cherry Sprite, etc). My only complaint would be the bun on my chicken sandwich was hard. I only paid .99 for said sandwich so I can't be too picky! My baked potato was perfect! My husband loved his chicken sandwich which came with Ghost Pepper fries. The bathrooms were clean, the service was amazing. If we find ourselves in Platte City, we will definitely stop by again! read more

Okay, so, the food here is the same (I believe delicious) Wendy's food one can come to expect. However, this location gets 5 stars because the staff is so ridiculously pleasant. I will use the word "extraordinary" because they are exactly that: significantly above and beyond the ordinary Wendy's staff that I'm used to where I live. In addition to being nice, they are funny, fast, and efficient. We stopped here on our way home from vacation with 5 kids in tow. We enjoyed our meal - the pretzel buns are AWESOME!!!! - and left with all 5 kids. Several hours after arriving home (we live 1 hr. 20 minutes away), I realized that, although I had all my kids, I did NOT leave with my purse! YIKES! I frantically called the restaurant and was impressed with the concern the staff showed me! They had found my purse, peeked at my ID and immediately locked it in their safe. I got it back today when a family member stopped and picked it up with their identification I had given.
