We took our son out for lunch here since he lives nearby and saw that it had good ratings for the food. The owner was a very nice lady who had a good sense of humor. It's a small dive restaurant with great hospitality and good food with good prices, especially for the amount of food that you get. Our table got a hamburger with fries, a kids meal (grilled cheese), Fried shrimp dinner and their special half or full rack of ribs and I chose a half. I gave it 5 stars, but it's not a 5 star restaurant. Instead, it's a small town diner that serves up great food at fair prices from a pretty large menu. I especially like their hamburgers with crinkle cut fries. I've also had chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Really good stuff. My wife likes their grilled chicken. Chicken and burgers all taste like they were cooked on a well seasoned grill that has been in use for decades. It's hard to fake that flavor. We came all the way from KC for this today. My husband had worked a summer in Leavenworth 30 years ago and remembered how good they were. I had shrimp and he had chicken fingers, both of which were really good. My son had a cheeseburger and it was amazing. I don't order burgers when I'm out because I can do that at home. Towne Pub reminds me of the restaurant and Tavern my aunt and uncle used to run. Lots of local folks that have been coming here for years and years. I've been coming here for over 10 years and the only thing I have ever gotten is the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Best burger in town hands down. If you don't want a burger, they do have lots of other items on their menu including a salad bar. They also serve great cheeseballs with ranch dressing. We live just north of KC and travel all over the country and we eat a lot of burgers. These were some of the best burgers we have ever had. The owner told me that they purchase their beef from Kirby Meat in Dodge City, where I have also purchased beef while living in western Kansas several years ago. This place has one of the best burgers your gonna find. It's a classic hole in the wall restaurant. They spend more time worrying about the flavor of the food then what the place looks like. You may even have to get up and get your own drink once in a while but that's because they treat everyone who walks through the door like family. Saturday night they have a steak special and the Ribeye is one of the best. It's not a giant steak but it's also not $50.
