Leaving one star because both times I was in there, the lady tailed me around the entire store while I shopped.. She even started pretending like she was putting shoes away and stood on the middle of the aisle to aggressively prevent me from getting through even after I said "Excuse me".. Then she started yelling loudly to the other guy and I'm almost certain she was talkin , gauging from the other 1 star reviews for this store.. She has done it before.. I get it that you don't want people stealing from you, but maybe invest in some security cameras? That's what they exist for.. The vast majority of us are not thieves. And if you're so miserable there, maybe find a new job? Absolutely terrible. Don't go here and support these owners. I won't be back. read more

Located next to a Mexican Tacos and Tienda. Inside, It feels like walking your way to an Amazon warehouse. Great selection of kitchen tools, appliances and even chef's outfit like the hat, coat, pants and shoes. Bought a couple of Japanese ramen bowls and plates. They cost less than Amazon price. Not sure about authenticity but they have a sticker at the bottom of the bowls. If you're a business owner, you can buy most of the kitchen equipment needs. The guy who runs the place was friendly and helpful. Not sure about the ladies because they were rudely speaking in Asian language. If they want us to go out early for closing time, they could have mentioned politely. Anyways, we will be back and get the sushi platter and Japanese tea set. read more

Man, what a cool place. I drop in maybe once a year to buy supplies/utensils for my home kitchen. I usually walk around for at least 30-40 minutes. While Wens is primarily a Chinese kitchen supply store, and I am not in the least bit asian, I always find a few bags worth of stuff to walk out with, and I rarely spend more than $20-30. Stopped in to look around, and I was instantly excited! The store is huge, and has literally everything you need to cook and so much more. Obviously geared towards supply for a Chinese kitchen, Wen's outdoes itself with their offerings. It's a chef's heaven! They have a huge portion of their store dedicated to dishes, and talk about BEAUTIFUL! I wished I was redoing my kitchen just to buy some new, beautiful dishes. They have beautiful tea sets, sake sets, poker sets, any pot or pan you could ever need-and more affordable than IKEA pots and pans! I loved the decor they had to sell too-mini bamboo parasols, large bamboo fans, small, feathery fans, wooden diorama's, golden piggy banks, laughing Buddha's, Hello Kitty chopsticks, novelty tea cups, and so much more! I had a phase of my adult life when I was afraid cooked food was bad for you. I reverted back to eating certain cooked foods. I needed a cooking pot or frying pan. I wasn't necessarily satisfied with the selection in Meijer, Kroger,, Target, or Walmart. This store is only a about half mile from my apartment. I ended up buying a Mylan brand pot, the kind with two short handles with hard plastic on the handles, glass lid with a hold to let out steam; I bought it even though whether it is aluminum or stainless steel is not identified, just because it was at a good price it and it looks adequate sized for one person. The store is worth checking out before buying from somewhere else. read more

I always find nifty items here for amazing prices. I have gotten several kitchen gadgets andnice kitchenware from here. I got a knife set today for my sister and its super nice, my husband picked it out. I am almost certain she won't use it too often rotfl because she doesn't hang out in the kitchen too often but it's definitely seems like a proud collector's item atleast for her jt's a start. Dude. You don't even know how long I've been looking for some damn big bowls. Ikea don't have bowls. Walmart don't have bowls. Seriously I don't know why no one carries big bowls. 168 market does but it costs like 20 bucks for a bowl there which is ridiculous. So one day I'm trying this taco place nearby and my girlfriend spots this out of the corner of the eyes. She screams and I almost crash but that's okay because I find this place. Omg my Asian soul is on fire. Chopsticks, woks, pots, tea sets, they have it all! They stock made in Japan stuff if you're fancy and made in China if you're cheap like me. I got some huge ass bowls for ramen for like 5 bucks each. I also picked up those little things for dipping your sushi in soy sauce. What the hell are they called soy sauce dish? Lol anyway they were like 1.50. Ridiculous. They have all your Asian restaurant needs here from rice cookers to sushi knives to pots and pans and bowls. Will definitely be back. Now, I could have gotten a masculine overpriced one from Goldfish Tea (don't get me wrong I love their tea) but my gut said Wen would have something better. And it did! Now, I sip my daily tea from a sparkly purple tea mug that I got for half the price! All in all, a small kitchen supply store worth visiting. Plus it's next to Tai Pan! read more

Their large selection does not make up for the blatant disrespect I received from the staff. I bought a leaking pot and came in for an exchange 2 days later. It resulted in me having to go home with a the floor model of smaller pot that was cheaper. It was clear that she didn't want to refund the difference either. The woman who sold me the original pot stormed off while ranting and left it to another worker to deal with me. I've never been so uncomfortable in my life. I was made to feel bad for something I didn't do wrong. I could have bought it online, but I chose to buy from a local store instead. The sad thing is, we have bought a lot of items from them since moving to the Detroit area, but I guess it is time to find a new supply store. read more

Great place, filled with beautiful beautiful plates, bowls, cups, teapots from China and Japan. You'll love to browse the isles and imagine all of the cool stuff you can cook with their huge steamers, woks etc. I have loved everything I bought here- steamers, knives, utensils, etc... Without question, Wens is the place for kitchen stuff. Scored a really nice wok, and two fine culinary knives for half than the big chain stores. Had a large selection to choose from too.
