This is a wonderful park. The terrain is varied and the trails are well-maintained by the City of Bellevue. There's a great waterfall. The trees and other vegetation are beautiful. Some spots have nice views of Lake Washington. There's a nice little picnic spot near one of the west entrances. Parking is limited, but the park doesn't seem to be overused, so it's enough. I like the parking on the west side of the park better than the spot on West Lake Sammamish Parkway, but the latter is good too. read more

Weowna Park offers a tranquil escape with its flowing creeks and varied terrain, providing a decent workout with its changes in elevation. The multiple trail options allow for exploration, although a truly scenic loop within the park itself seems to be lacking. We ended up exiting the park and walking back through the surrounding neighborhoods to complete our loop, which felt a little unconventional, but the residents were surprisingly friendly and welcoming. A significant drawback of the main trailhead is the extremely limited parking. For future visits, I will definitely explore alternative parking options around the park's perimeter, as there doesn't seem to be a strong necessity to begin at the designated main entrance given the park's layout. During this visit, we didn't venture down to the lake or explore all the various routes, but the trails we did experience were peaceful and scenic. There were a few sections that presented some minor challenges due to curvy inclines covered in roots and uneven ground, requiring a bit of careful footing. Overall, Weowna Park offers a pleasant and serene hiking experience. While the lack of a dedicated scenic loop and the parking situation at the main trailhead are points to consider, the park's natural beauty and friendly neighborhood make it a worthwhile destination. Especially for a quick weekend walk. They allow pets, but be sure to keep them leased and bring clean up bags because that's also required. read more

This is a beautiful park that's tucked in a neighborhood, quiet, with some gorgeous views of Lake Sammamish peaking through. The paths are well-maintained, and you get to walk through some beautiful old growth forests. read more

It's far away enough from the road that you get some peace and quiet, and hiking back to civilization is always satisfying. Lovely neighborhood trail with a little elevation in the beginning but lovely and relatively flat the rest of the way. All total it is a little over 3 miles . It is mostly vegetation with a few built in benches. Don't expect water features however there is evidence of a small waterfall but it is dry now. If you enter on the W. lake Sammamish trailhead, you will immediately experience all of the elevation of this hike. It is a steep 1/2 mile but then it progresses to switchbacks . We came here for a nature walk/small hike on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only ones here. There are two entrances to this park. We started at the entrance off of West Lake Sammamish Parkway on the main drag, and there is an area where a few cars can park by the entrance. At this entrance there is a gradual steep hill that eventually turns to the left where most of the trail isn't steep. There are signs throughout the trail that show which pathways go where, including the Lake to Lake Trail and Phantom Lake. We went to the Phantom Creek area and from the start of the West Lake Sammamish Parkway entrance it was only a mile and half one-way. We found some benches along the way and there is a lookout to where the creek is, as well as a picnic bench area right by it. Since we were limited on time we couldn't go further, but the park connects with multiple trails. Overall, the nature walk is an easy small hike and we were able to see the beautiful Douglas Firs everywhere and the changing of the leaves. It's a nice park to visit, especially for some solitude or peace and quiet. read more

My favorite park in Bellevue, or much of the Seattle area for that. Really underused. The park consists of a roughly three hundred foot high hill topping out to a ridge, then continuing on the Lake to Lake trail to Phantom Lake. On the hike up from West Lake Samm Parkway, many of the trees are old growth and one can truly get lost in the forest. Even saw a bald eagle hovering over here once. Parking is on the side of the road and thus feels a bit vulnerable. Sometimes can get busy at the entrance. read more

It's a beautiful, mostly peaceful (the road isn't too far and the birds add a nice filter) walk/hike down the road. I plan to start frequenting this place because of the great location! Beautiful to see all of the new buds erupting! For a Saturday hike, we only passed a few couples or single hikers near dusk. There's a fallen tree over the section right after you cross the "driveway" and head towards Lake Hills. Someone is also missing glasses a thoughtful person tied to a tree close to the exit on W Lake Samm. read more

Parking is strictly street parking, so just be mindful of the neighborhood nearby - you don't want to step on any toes with the locals with your crappy parking. The street almost runs parallel with a paved portion of the trail. They have ample benches as well as trash cans provided for you so think of the critters before you litter! I took a picture of the trail and it loops all the way to the blueberry farms, which is quite a ways. So we decided to stay within Weowna Park loop. Going on a Tuesday morning - we didn't run into too many people. It is summer-time so it's probably busier now than in the later fall months. This place has some good gradual inclines that can get your heart beating. But along the same lines, it makes for a great running trail. That farther you get into the trail - the more you can see the view of Lake Sammamish - just look pass the houses on the water. The trail is well-kept, when we were there - there was a worker, cutting the overgrown bushes from the trail and sweeping the pine cones aside making it easy for walkers and runners alike. There were a couple of trees that you can see have fallen on the trail but they cut it and stacked it on the side. This park was something I never knew existed in Bellevue of all place. I'm glad I found it - makes for a great nature-getaway! Oh! The trails are marked but sort of confusing - this could be operator-error on my part. lol. I'm just sayin' All in all, a great place for a stroll or for a jog. read more

Great trails to hike on. There are 2 loop trails you can do, as well as ones that go straight to a road. The trail is easy to walk on, and it's not super steep. There are stairs in some places. On one of the trails, there are 2 'crow nests' that look out over where you've already hiked. I would definitely recommend these hikes to anyone nearby. read more

Easy to park on the side there and lots of shade. Perfect for when you don't want to get a sunburn but you want to hike. There is barely anyone here post working hours and the south trail loop has just enough incline to get your heat pumping. It's a little tricky to catch the loop back to the car but google maps is pretty good at keeping you on track! About 1.7-2ish miles round trip around that loop plus tons of other trails that veer off for a longer trek! Also waterfalls and streams that make the hike ten times better! Be sure to wear shoes you're okay getting dirty in because there are some rather muddy areas (especially after it rains the day before) Also def solo walker approved safe as I felt very comfortable here walking solo. Very peaceful and meditative. read more

Take a stroll through a beautifully maintained natural park. There are meandering trails through the woods. There is just enough incline to feel like you're hik in in a forest, but the paths are not overly strenuous. Enjoy the sunlight pouring through the mossy trees. There is even a creek flowing through the well marked loop. read more
