This happened 4 years ago: I had an appointment to establish…read morecare with Dr. Keith E Junior at Matthew Walker Health Center in Clarksville TN. I checked in at 8:14 am, filled out my paperwork, and was called back shortly thereafter-around 8:30. I was roomed by a medical assistant (she said she was Dr. Junior's regular Medical Assistant, but I don't remember her name). She asked me about my medical history, including prior surgeries and allergies, entered them into the computer, then left to get the doctor.Dr. Keith E Junior entered the room and asked me "What I am here to be seen for," and I responded, "To establish care, but mainly, to possibly to get surgery on my knee and to get my medications refilled." I told him my insurance would change the first of the year and surgery would cost me a lot more on my new insurance. He asked what knee and I said left. He kind of smirked and he said, it is hard to get surgery toward the end of the year. I told him, "I get that, I said I could get my records with a CT scan." He said, "Maybe he could get me on the schedule if I had records."Dr. Junior then asked to see my medications. He saw them in my bag. He started listing my medications on a piece of paper. He had not accessed the computer to view my medical history or record. Instead, he sat and wrote my medication. He got to my Gabapentin and he said, "I will not be prescribing 'this' medication to you." Then, I pulled out my Percocet from my medication bag and said, "I guess that means this one as well?" and he said, "Not that one either, today or any day." He said, "None one of my colleagues would either." I asked if he knew of anyone that he could refer me to, and he replied, "I will not have any part of prescribing that poison to you." He stated, "There is a huge misuse and abuse of this medication and all opioids, and I am not going to risk my license by prescribing it to you." He went into this rant about me needing to stop playing the victim. He said, "This medication has been prescribed to people improperly for years." He told me I needed to stop leaning on being disabled and just get up and do something about it. (I started to cry at this point). I asked him, "Do you know how it feels to have back problems?" He said to me, "You didn't even have any concern for me and for what I have been through." He ranted about some kidney issue he had; I believe he said he had one removed. He mentioned some other medical problem he had, (I had tuned out at that point). I said to him, "I am here as a patient and you are the doctor, so why would I ask you about your problems, you're supposed to be helping me?!" I told him, "You should stop writing down my medication, you are wasting your time and mine because I will not be returning." I also said, "My husband has an appointment today and he certainly would not be in to see you, so cancel that appointment as well." I turned my back to him so I could gather my things to leave and get a tissue to wipe my nose and eyes and gather my dignity before leaving. He said nothing to me after he opened the door and went up front and said something to one of the front desk clerks.I was in tears as I left the office, he berated me throughout the entire appointment. He gathered no medical history from me whatsoever, other than my left knee injury. He judged me solely on the medications in my bag. He did not offer alternative treatments for my medications that he demanded he would not prescribe to me. He just sent me on my way and said he would have my appointment deleted. The girl at the desk stopped me on my way out the door and said she would remove the appointment, but my information would stay in their system. She asked me if I was okay, and I started to answer her but turned and walked out the door instead. I ONLY GAVE ONE STAR BECAUSE 0 STARS WAS NOT AN OPTION!
