We had our monthly golf outing here yesterday. $45 rate for a Saturday was fantastic…read more The facilities are great and the golf course was in fine shape. So many undulations and moguls lining the fairways and on the greens. I lost 3 sleeves of balls, which isn't at all unusual as I've been known to hit the ball in some very unexpected (and unplanned directions). We play best ball so it goes a lot faster and my teammates really picked me up when I hit to unusual places. The greens, while not all looking in top form, were very puttable and fairly easy to read. And we did have some long putts, some of which fell in the cup. We had 2 putts of 16' or more drop in. Woot! I can't think of any aspect of this experience that wasn't top notch. The staff, everywhere on the course and in the clubhouse were very friendly and accommodating. I look forward to coming back sometime soon. This was a great experience in every way. I did toss my 31-year old Sand Wedge into the lake on #14. It was a beautiful toss and I bid farewell to a club that used to serve me very well. But it was beyond its usefulness. So Rest In Peace dear Sand Wedge. I'll be back to visit you.

I've held off leaving this review over my last few rounds there, not something I normally do. It's…read morethe closest course to my house so naturally it's the course I play the most. The course is much improved over the last few years and generally love the layout. The gentlemen at the clubhouse, believe it's John, is miserable anytime I get there or call to inquire about heading out there. Instead of welcoming you to come play or just being decent. He comes off miserable and like I'm inconveniencing him anytime I get there or call to check availability. It's either "well the course is packed and you won't be able to move quickly" or "we got a lot of rain so I shouldn't even be letting people out" or "the cart has to be in by 8 and it's slow out there so I don't even know how many holes you can get in". I'll take my money to Santee, the courses are nicer, the price is more competitive and the customer service is a mile better. I won't be playing Pine Forest any longer, done giving my money to course that doesn't seem like they want it.

I recently got into golfing and as a beginner I've found this golf course is perfect. I've started…read moreby just using the driving range right behind the clubhouse. I wish it was covered but it's otherwise a nice range. The grounds are well maintained and the staff are always nice and helpful. The clubhouse is going under renovations that will give them a bigger space. They have a nice bar and restaurant and a decent pro shop. If you're a Goose Creek City employee you should inquire about the discounts they offer!

Expectations were quite high as I approached the 1st tee. My warm-up session went well, body…read morereacted positively to my stretching session, I was ready. Pretty much everything after that point went to hell in a handbasket, but not in anyway due to the course. To post a decent score at Crowfield, you must have a lot of information at your hands. Danger lurks everywhere, so a shot five to seven yards off line is DEAD, followed by a penalty and a double bogie. The greens were punched and over-seeded, so they were bumpy but the Pro Shop had been discounting greens fees accordingly. Mark in the shop was such a gentleman, he went over the entire course yardage book, hole by hole with me. Mostly pointing out the removed bunkers, 38 in all, I took notes. They were removed because the course was playing just too difficult for the average player. So here is my advice, check where the water is on each hole, again, a slight push fade or a slight hook draw and your DEAD. You must play from the fairway to have and hope for pars or the occasional birdie. There is just no way you can scramble from the trees and get up and down for par, it just ain't gonna happen. Beautiful facility, beautiful clubhouse and a course that I was not at all prepared for, it really humbled me, it whipped me. I had to call two playing partners in NYC to talk me off the ledge, or I was calling Dr. Jack Kevorkian the very next morning.
