The last director was superb and residents loved him; he sincerely cared about them. Corporate fired him. Residents wore black and wrote letters in protest. They had a terrific chef who prepared healthy meals and homemade baked goods; they fired him too. The current chef creates unhealthy meals, runs out of food and has fired so many servers that they have to serve buffet style. They hold meetings regarding the meals, and residents complain. Everything is written down and improvement is promised, but nothing has changed in the last month. Some residents are actually not eating and preparing sandwiches on their own. For the rent they charge, and the fact that these are elderly people, many with health issues, you would expect more value to be placed on serving quality food. Most are very upset and disappointed. Apologies are made, but no changes. I hope that I can write a more positive review soon!

Moving him…read moreinto assisted living care was a huge step in our minds but the transition was made easy by Phillip and his team. Every member of the staff seems to truly care about the folks living there and we've not had one single regret since moving him in. The place is well thought out, rooms are nice, overall facility is very clean and the staff has ALWAYS been nothing less than very responsive & very helpful. There are plenty of activities available for the residents including a park with walking trails & exercise equipment next door. Let's not forget the food here - I'm almost embarrassed to say that I look forward to eating lunch there. The food is actually that good. Menus are well planned and published in advance making it easy for me to plan my lunch visits. The only criticism I have of the place is the Director's office is decorated with that tacky Tennessee Volunteer orange.

As they wheeled me through the door, in a wheelchair, I noticed that the facility was almost brand new.... I think. Everything was clean and shining. All the staff had wonderful smiles on their faces and I knew this was my happy home for the next 3 weeks. The food was excellent especially if you're a fan of southern cooking; however, if you're a northerner like me, they will accommodate you for each meal. But the southern flare was so good, I went in a northerner and left 3 weeks later a southerner. Anyway, I had physical therapy 5 hours a week (M-F) and occupational therapy 5 hours a week (M-F). My PT and my OT people were fantastic. They worked with me to give me the maximum benefit in my rehabilitation. I felt myself getting stronger everyday. The nursing staff worked very hard to bring me the maximum comfort, provide my meds in a timely fashion, and yet those hard working nurses always had a smile for me all the time. My doctors recommendation of this facility was, without a doubt, the right place for me. I came in a wheelchair and 3 weeks later I danced out the door.

We spent our Labor Day weekend moving my father-in-law ( Bob) from The Latern to The Neighborhood…read moreat Tellico Village. Our move-in was facilitated by Marti Hands. Marti turned an experience that could have been considered drudgery into fun! She greeted our family on her day off with a smile! She helped us with everything we needed. She had an answer for every question we presented her. Marti was totally professional but also personable! She helped settle Bob into his room, programmed his cable TV, introduced him to other residents and even went over a shopping list of snack foods for us to purchase for him. Marti Hands is hands down the best!!!

My friends mother stays here and she is quit happy here. They even let her bring her two cats in…read morehere but she has to take care of them though. For accommodations, they have very nice rooms. They have two-bedroom units, one-bedroom and living room units, and then they have a studio, which is large but everything is in the same room. Every one of them has a kitchenette. Have of them have patios where you can go out from your own room onto the patio. They have really nice facilities. The staff is very accommodating. All of them seem to call their residents by name. They have a nurse that is director of the facility. The nurse would distribute the medication. They have a doctor on-call. They have people that do the personal care stuff. They have an activity director. They have a fine kitchen staff, they don't call themselves executive chef or anything like that, which they do at some of the other facilities, but the food is fabulous. We have eaten there several times. The dining room is very nice. They have linen on the tables and stuff like that. For activities, they have everything you can think of. They have dominos, bingo, bridge, exercise, movies with popcorn, etc. They have visiting therapy dogs. They have Bible studies. They have musicians come at least one different one every week. Also they have piano music at lunch time. Apparently, their big meal is lunch.

They have a wonderful Wound Care RN. She is caring, compassionate, dedicated, reliable and has a…read morestrong work ethic. Their Administrator, Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing are dedicated, caring and extremely efficient. We visited this facility while researching a place for our Mom. This is one of the saddest places I…read morehave ever been to. What I saw haunted me after leaving. The residents in wheelchairs were all jammed up around the nurses desk. Some were sitting in their room staring blankly at the wall. One elderly gentleman was in a wheelchair up against a wall facing chairs and equipment. They told us they had a contract with the veterans. God bless any of our veterans that end up in that place after all they have done for their country. Shame on them.
