After finishing it, Nathan came down and said "I did my best - it was tough!" I didn't expect much, but when I went upstairs, I saw that the shower was spotless. He cleaned our large two-story home (3375 sq #) in about three hours. He cleaned all outside windows, all insides, all mirrors & the shower door. It's lovely to look out through clean windows! We can only give Finishing Touch Painting a 1-star, not because of the quality of workmanship,…read morewhich wasn't 5 star, but because of a lack of communication and keeping his word. We entered into a contract with Dylan Nordby, the owner of Finishing Touch Painting, in July of 2023, to paint the exterior of our house, repaint some interior walls, epoxy the garage floors and stain 4 patios. At that time, Dylan thought we could get on his schedule for August or September and had to give him a 25% deposit. October 16th ended up being the expected start date with a full crew promised. Dylan pushed that start date 3 more times, Nov. 1, 3 and finally Nov. 6th. We expressed our disapproval of being delayed so many times, and he asked us if we wanted our deposit back, a red flag, but after waiting over three months, we decided to continue being patient. On Nov. 6, one painter arrived. Nov. 7, two painters arrived. Nov. 8, no one arrived with neither a call or text from anyone at Finishing Touch. Nov. 9, two garage floor people came but the interior walls of the garage were not completed yet so they left. Two painters came a little later that morning and by end of the day, Dylan had his trailer removed and by phone call quit our job with ridiculous and untrue explanations . His communication and follow through are unacceptable and his integrity nonexistent. The only positive that came out of the breaking of the contract is that he returned our deposit money to us, but only after delays and threats of complaints by us, to YCCA and expecting us to pay for the exterior paint he previously bought. Of course, that request was not acceptable since he was the one who broke the contract and quit our job. We wouldn't recommend Finishing Touch to anyone, as integrity and communication are just as important as price and quality, and Finishing Touch Painting and Dylan Nordby have none of these.

He left that for me. He is never on time and doesn't call you to tell you he is not coming that day or the time he said he would come. Also I called him several times and he doesn't return my calls. The last call I asked him, a week ago, to please at least get rid of the bags. No call from him. I had to pay someone to remove his garbage. He gives all kinds of traumatic excuses why he is late or didn't call in the beginning . Very disappointed in Matt the owner. I never thought he would pull that and leave me hanging.

We asked if the exterior of our home in the AZ room, which is not heated so it is not an interior room, was included in the quote. Jason never responded. 10/24/25 Jason sent over his Sherwin William rep so the rep and I could match the existing color of the home since we live in an HOA. I had the color names from the HOA Sherwin Williams book and showed it to rep. He confirmed those were the colors. Rep said he would give them to Jason. 10/27/25 Joseph and his crew showed up from B&M Painting to start our job. 10/29/25 Asked Jason to stop by our home to talk about the stucco walls in the Arizona room, the same one he never responded back about. I told him that we discussed it the day he walked around with me to write up a quote. Jason says I said no to painting the stucco in the AZ room/enclosed porch, which again has not heating and is not a sealed room. It even has vinyl window panes, not glass plus there are two thin aluminum doors. I told Jason I had told him about it. Jason starts to raise his voice and told us that we are trying to something for nothing; Jason said he has clients like us who try this all the time. Also told us that we are not contractors and he is. We are not painters but we are another type of contractor. Jason walked off and said he would NOT give us a quote. Because Jason walked off I could not show him that on the customer copy of the quote they provided me with was the email I sent with the quote asking about the exterior stucco in the AZ room. 10/30/25 Joseph and his crew were finishing our home and painted the front door the same color as the trim. Joseph said they did not have the front door color he asked if I had an old can of paint to match the front door. I told him that the Sherwin Williams rep had given the colors to Jason. He again asked me for the can of paint. I found the can of paint and he went to Sherwin Williams to match it. When Joseph's crew was done painting we walked the exterior together. Joseph tells me that the HOA might say something because the color of the house was not exact to the original color. I said, "Why?!" Joseph told me that the Sherwin Williams rep had dropped the ball so he had to take a strap off my house for the body color and another part near the a/c unit for the trim. So, if the HOA says our color is not the original color we will have to pay another company to paint it all again? We are done with B&M painting. Jason prides himself on communication but failed in our case, more than once.
