For a while I did not miss a single new release. While I may not come here as often I still would recommend it as a must visit brewery in Maine and one of the best in the greater Portland area. Their taproom has grown in size by a lot since my first review, as they have moved the brewing aspects elsewhere. They have also since opened two other locations, first in Freeport then in South Portland. Thankfully my favorite beer from them is still their flagship beer called Gunners Daughter. It's a low ABV (5.5%) peanut butter milk stout. Mind you despite being a peanut butter stout they do not use nuts so those who have those allergies can still have it. It's even more popular now that they have hosted special Gunners Daughter days with special variants released for years now. Including yesterday during our most recent visit here. They even released for the first time a Double Barrel Aged Version at 18% that tasted so good! They do a huge variety of style beers though with lots of IPAs available plus lagers, sours, stouts, porters, and more! Check this place out if you are a beer lover! They do also have options for those who are not beer lovers too though. Also they frequently have food trucks. Always had friendly service with a smile during every visit!

Small, quiet tables with partitions between rooms make it a quaint/romantic place to eat. The menu contains lots of comfort food and pub fare. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The burger is thick and juicy enough that you need extra napkins. The French fries are fried, sliced potatoes and are excellent. Parking during peak times I would imagine would be a challenge, especially with huge snow piles in the neighboring parking lot.

What you get here is an open air large space beer garden that now serves wine and some cocktails. If you didn't know Lone Pine also makes their own in house Vodka now. They are often partnering up with food trucks here too, so you can get tasty food with your drinks. Check their social media to see the truck schedule. So much seating available with many different options, some with shade/covering and some not. With plenty of games (cornhole, fooseball, etc) to keep you entertained! The day I went it was surprisingly dead for a Friday but with the amount of space they have you'd need a lot of people for it to feel busy/crowded. Although if it was busy I could see a very large drink line forming due to how drink ordering worked. If the weather is great and you want to enjoy a beverage outdoors that isn't the typically bar/brewery patio this is your spot! Great spot for large groups and/or place to meet up with friends. Also for Lone Pine fans you can enjoy their beers without going into Portland. I'm not sure how often I would return, it was a limited number of beers and I would just prefer another setting most the time. Worth checking out though!

MM is one of the top breweries in Portland, if you prefer hazy IPAs. They do have sours, lagers,…read morepilners, stouts and canned seltzers and wine too. Before we go there, they have a large parking lot! It tends to fill up on weekends but there are usually spots. If you had been to the space before MM was there, you know the bar was small. Since taking over the space, the bar has been extended pretty much to the bathroom, so lots more places to order and sit. This also means the cans to-go are behind the bar so it's no longer self serve. The outdoor space has been reinvigorated with a pizza oven and fire pits. This is one of the only breweries that still allows furry friends, on leash. Like I said, MM is putting out some of the top NE style IPAs, which is fantastic for those of us who still drink them. Hop heads seem to be a devoted crowd.

Swish, Here's to Feeling Good All the Time, Nothing Gold, and Reciprocal are a formidable foursome. At any given time, you can usually get at least two, more often three, sometimes all four. -- You'd be hard pressed (pun intended) to find a better smashburger in Portland, but I'd also put it up against any regularly-offered burger I've had in Portland--smashed or otherwise. I love everything about it, from the high caliber of the beef to the fresh pillowy milk bun to the exhilaratingly strong cure of the bacon to the razor-thin cutting of the vegetables to the execution that gets even a smashburger burger juicy. -- I'm still not crazy about the wings. They have a frozen dinner feel to them. A few things, though, have changed: -- Full service now instead of having to order everything at the bar. That's a plus. -- The place is much more crowded-- including screaming tykes-- on the weekends. Not a plus, but can't fault a place for its own popularity. -- The fries are now the industrial strength coated kind. A big minus and a sad drop off from prior greatness, but better that than from an item off the main cast. -- You can now order beer cans to go from the table rather than having to get in line. A nice convenience. A few things to know: -- It's a surprisingly good option for vegetarians and pescatarians. The veggie burger and the grilled fish sandwich are both much more than solid. -- There's outdoor seating in front of the building and also to the right. -- The bar room to the right of the entrance is adults only, so if those screaming tykes get on your nerves, this is the place to be. -- You can still order beer at the bar if that's your preference over table service. This beer release brought my wife and I for our visit today. As an IPA fan I enjoyed this new version very much for its hop saturated citrusy forward taste that drank quite smooth for the 9.5%. At this point now Bissell is broken into two separate parts. The first will be the space welcoming to families and is more of their restaurant style area. Appeared to be a popular area and does offer reservations. My preferred area is the Bissell Garden as they call it. Those entering need to be of drinking age and have more lounge vibes where you order at the bar. It still offers full kitchen menu so is perfect. Particularly my favorite is snagging bar stools to grab some beers and food. I had to try out the Super Swish while my wife grabbed their red ale named Turnpike. Then food wise we split their kitchen special Classic Poutine. Some of the best classic kept simple poutine I have had. The perfect comfort food for yet another cold weather day in Maine. Have been impressed by all the food from Bissell. Truly the only negative still stands being the fact it's on Thompson's Point and required paid parking (not Bissell Brothers call but still). We ate at the bar and usually bartenders are very talkative and attentive but that was not the case. It had the perfect amount of clams to potatoes and not too thick. Unfortunately we were not checked in on even once and looking around, we weren't the only ones. For the menu prices, I would have liked to at least be asked how my meal was. They have a full parking lot out front but it's not the biggest to be prepared to parallel park on the road.
