Great drive-thru. Has some of the beers that are to find around here. Workers are always friendly and they remember what I like to drink.

The vibe is the…read moreperfect mix of sports bar energy and live entertainment -- whether you're there to catch a game, enjoy live music, or show up on a DJ night, it's always a great time. What truly sets this place apart is the people. From the second I walk in the door, the bartenders make me feel welcome. They don't just serve drinks -- they remember my name, my drink order, and even what I like to eat. The owners and staff consistently make me, my friends, and my family feel like we belong there. Hoss, Josh, Tasha, Jimmy, Fred, and Mandy are hands down the best bartenders in the area. They're friendly, fast, and somehow manage to give you personal attention even when the bar is two or three deep. The service is always top notch -- even on the busiest nights, I still have a drink in my hand within minutes. That says everything about how well this place is run. And in the summer? The patio is the place to be. It's easily the best patio around -- great atmosphere, great crowd, and the BBQ is always a highlight. There's nothing better than sitting outside with friends, good food, and a cold drink. If you're looking for a spot with great energy, amazing staff, live music, DJ nights, and the best summer patio in town, this is it.

The perfect no-frills, neighborhood place. Friendly people, lots of screens, and GOOD food…read more We were passing through Youngstown on our way to Wisconsin and needed dinner. Did some research and this looked like a nice spot. I was right! First, this was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Nice and thick, perfectly made. I had it with grilled mushrooms, which were excellent. My husband had a burger with the grilled mushrooms and sauteed onions. MMMM! Next, the fries. Wow. Crisp, nicely seasoned, and hot. However, you should skip the fries and get the chips. Oh, baby, these were incredible. House-made, thin, not greasy, crackly crisp. I'd buy a bagful for the road if I could. And served with a little cup of French onion dip. Loved this meal! We'll definitely stop on our annual road trip next year. PS: They also have an outdoor dining space, but we wanted A/C.

This is a solid bar and grill. A four star in the solid dive bar and grill category!…read more Great prices on the food, daily drink specials. Gots a pool table and dart board, nice loud juke box. What more do you need? And really, it's a two. But bonus points for cheap good food and friendly service. So an unapologetic four star review. And right across the street from a Dairy Queen, so cheap desert. Just one of those places you gotta stop in at. Just to check it out. I liked it. The wife liked it. What more can you ask? Next time I'll order some food. Take some pix. Post those. Really, a nice "bar" type bar.

This is a 1-star dive, but my brother-in-law adds 2 stars…read more This place is his therapy. I stopped in with the wife last Saturday afternoon for a little impromptu birthday celebration (his). Three Gennies (on draft, my "plumbing" hasn't settled yet) later, we were on our way. The day was charted out as a couple of wineries in the Grand River Valley, but I knew if we saw his car there, we'd stop in. It was his birthday after all, that day. His smile made it all worth while, even if my clothes will never smell right again. (How do you get that bar-maid smell out of a nice shirt? Anyone?) Really, it didn't smell that bad and the clientele were what you'd expect. The barmaid showed us the picture of her wedding on the beach in Myrtle Beach. It's her wallpaper on her phone. Yep, complete with the story of the Harley ride right onto the dance floor at Johnny's (I think that's what she said), where her groom dropped her off in full white gown. Not kidding. But again, this is what makes the world go around. The beers were $1 a piece. I bought a round for $3.25. What do you tip on that? My rule would dictate $.65. Can't do that. She's got to pay for that veil after all. I love my brother-in-law like a brother and it was all I needed when I walked in and saw that look on his face. I can't say you'll get the same reaction, so you might find the place a 1-star even with the wedding pix.

This place was just what I was looking for in the Akron area…read more Fresh Neapolitan pizza & fresh pastries attached to a coffee/tea shop and even a gelato shop! This is definitely a place to hang out while waiting for medical appointments, enjoy a sweet treat during a warm summer day, or meet friends for a light lunch and coffee. The food was great, the chai tea was a nice mix of spicy and sweet. My pastry was wonderfully balanced on the palate while still retaining a strong chocolate flavor. I saw some people criticizing the service as confusing, I guess that's understandable but I don't agree. When you order your drink, it comes out quickly so they most likely expect you to just wait a minute before grabbing it and your table number before going to sit down. The ladies behind the counter were nice and efficient and clear with directions regarding water and where to get the drinks and food. Like I said, I didn't have any problems with service or its directions. Not to mention they have 3 different kinds of spots to hangout and eat suiting your mood: a patio, a darker "dining room" (pictured below) and a bright gelato spot. Highly recommend! I will absolutely make this my Akron hangout spot.

It could have been better…read more I had been to Café Arnone a few years ago when we first moved to Akron and remembered it fondly, so I suggested it when meeting a friend for coffee last week. When I arrived around 1:00 pm, the café was quiet. There was no one at the counter, so I walked around to find someone and ask where to sit since the space has more of a café feel on one end and a wine-bar feel on the other. I was told to order at the counter and sit anywhere. I sat in the front area to wait for my friend. Once she arrived, we went up to order. I asked about a menu and was pointed to a sign on the counter. Since it was my first visit in a while, I asked the employee what she recommended, and she flipped the sign to a breakfast sandwich called The Sal. I ordered that. I then had to ask about beverages, as none were mentioned. I only wanted water and was directed to a carafe on the counter to serve myself. Our food came out within a few minutes. The presentation was a little disappointing. I chose the vegetable side, which turned out to be two carrot sticks and two celery sticks lying in a small puddle of water. The sandwich looked good, but when I took my first bite, it was overwhelmingly salty. I understand bacon is salty, but this tasted like an excessive amount of salt had been added. After a second bite, I brought it back to the register and asked if it could be replaced, which they did. My disappointment wasn't so much in the mistake, but in the lack of acknowledgment--there was no apology and no follow-up to ask if the replacement was better. The restaurant wasn't busy, and while I'm sure they have many regulars, the lack of greeting when I walked in and the lack of follow-up stood out to me. I did appreciate the wall of ancestors--it was a nice touch--but overall the service felt disengaged. Maybe it was an off day, or perhaps inexperience from a young staff. I may try again in the future, but this visit fell short of expectations.
