One of my go to coffee places! The staff is so friendly and very quick with making coffee. They do seasonal drinks and switch them often which I love! Their coffee is great but I wish they had better breakfast items. I have tried their breakfast sandwiches a couple times and was not a huge fan. I drive past BeanThru every day on my way to work and finally tried it this summer! I've really enjoyed all of the coffees that I have had. I tried one of the speciality drinks at first but now I'm obsessed with their iced caramel macchiato. So good! I have had nothing but great service every time I've visited. I frequently come to Brighton Heights and Avalon for various reasons, and every time I do I know a stop through BeanThru is going to be on my list. I absolutely love this place and their creative drink list. Drinks are similar to Starbucks prices, but you are supporting local and getting much better quality IMO. Check out their social media for their current seasonal specials, which I can never find listed at the drive-thru. My favorite thing to order here is a seasonal iced latte or cold brew topped with one of their flavored cold foams. So delicious! If I am in need of a snack at the time, I like to get one of their biscotti, which are soft and chewy and unlike any biscotti you've had. The staff is always incredibly friendly and efficient, so don't shy away from pulling in if you see a little bit of a line. They get you in and out quickly. Great little coffee shop! read more

It was a welcomed surprise! In addition to espresso-based drinks, the BeanThru offers a variety of smoothies and teas. If your hungry, they have a small food selection with muffins, bagels a croissant breakfast sandwich and more. You can also buy a bag of the chocolate covered espresso beans if you want some extra caffeine. The Bellevue location is most easily accessed while driving towards downtown. The girls are always so friendly & the service is incredibly quick. Their basic & iced coffees are good. I love adding the vanilla cold foam onto an iced coffee for just a little hint of sweetness. I'm generally pretty plain with my coffees & don't do much aside from the above or an occasional cappuccino. I recently had one of their specialty Valentine's Day Raspberry Truffle Mocha drinks & it was such a treat!! It was very sweet, but I was in the mood for that, it also had raspberry cold foam on top. So, so yummy!! Their cold foam is the best. My husband even adds it to his hot coffees to cool them down slightly so he can start drinking it more quickly. The little chocolate covered espresso bean on top of each drink is always a little treat too & is such a nice signature touch. We're happy to live near such a great little local business! Over the past 2 months, my love for beanthru has grown so much. I don't go to Starbucks anymore because it's no comparison. I stopped by here this past Sunday with my wife and her parents for our morning coffee. On Sundays we try to hit up local coffee places and on this Sunday our choice happened to be Beanthru. This was actually our third time at this location as it's quick and convenient for us being right on Ohio River Blvd. On this morning they had 3 baristas working and so things went pretty quickly. I ordered a large creme brûlée latte, my wife a iced creme brûlée latte, my mother in law a small creme brûlée latte and my father in law a large hot chocolate. It was all ready in under 5 minutes and we were quickly on our way. All drinks here come with a chocolate covered espresso bean on top. My creme brûlée latte here ended up being pretty good with the flavor of sugar and vanilla being the most forward and present. Previously here I had just ordered plain lattes and thought that they were good as I could taste both the coffee and the whole milk. My wife also enjoyed her iced latte and thought that the flavors were good. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. read more

Not too #LGBTQIA affirming nor was this place bottom friendly at all as they were serving literally 16 oz Americanos? Like word I really didn't need that so I asked for the 8 oz and they gave me 12 oz. Love this coffee drive thru. Everyone is always super friendly. I had my 2 dogs in the car and they even gave them treats. I usually get the red eye but every once in a while I change it up. This place is legit!! Super fast, friendly service, delicious iced coffee, cheap prices ($2.50!), no credit card minimum. And they surprised me with a free swirly chocolate covered espresso bean! I'm in town for 2 days and I fully plan on coming back tomorrow. Maybe before then. The line moves really fast too by the way! There's no place for remote working since you don't go inside, and there's not even a place to park, but if you're pinched for time (or would rather use it sightseeing all that Pgh has to offer), this is your jam for sure. Love shopping small but I wish their cup sizes were alittle bigger. 2 times as much product at Starbucks for the same basic price. Large menu, lots of flavors, friendly staff and a rewards card for frequent customers. I'm attaching a picture of the difference in sizes between Starbucks, dunkin' and here. A large flavored iced tea at Dunkin' cost me $2.50 yesterday and a "large" 20 oz iced tea at bean thru cost me $2.57, plus I think they charge for the flavor shot because this tea and an iced americano ($3.59 on their menu) came to $7.49 total. They said they are adding a 24 oz size for cold drinks so it will be interesting to see how much that is. I understand small businesses can cost more due to buying in bulk vs not but the owner of Bean Thru claims their prices are 20% less than major competitors. I don't know about hot drinks but it's obvious on the iced ones. read more

This drive through coffee shop is a must do! I arrived around 10am, and there were a few people in line, however, there the line went quickly. I had the latte, hot, and with no flavors or sugar. Omg how delicious this was! The espresso was smooth and flavorful. This was truly one of the best lattes i have ever had. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich, served on a croissant, which was delicious. They have lots of really interesting home made treats, too, such as biscotti. My only regret about this fabulous coffee shop is that I live in Virginia, and will have to make every excuse to drive thru here again. But it will be worth the drive. :) read more

This coffee shop is completely out of our way and yet my husband and I find every excuse we can to drive through because it really is that good! This is also coming from people with an espresso machine in their house, so it's really unnecessary for us... and yet! I grew up in Washington State in the mid/late 90s and these kinds of coffee carts were huge then. So I initially stopped here out of a sense of nostalgia. And I ordered the almond joy mocha for the same reason. And these people delivered! Plus they give you a chocolate covered espresso bean on top of your cup which is such a cute little extra! I love the coffee and have enjoyed it at both BeanThru locations. I would travel out of my way for it. However the food isn't great. I've had a muffin which tasted like it was from Sams club. The good for you bars are pretty good. I will say I wish they were a little smaller and the price matched the size. Today I got a cookie that had 3 chocolate chips in it. Bean thru is a cool little place! Unless you are driving a truck, you can't actually see anything on the inside but it does seem bigger in there than it looks. Ohio river blvd is one if the harder parts about coming here. If you come from town you have to find a way to spin around safely as it is on the other side of the street. Usually friendly young women in there and informative of the menu items. I have been here twice and got food items both times and not coffee. The first time I ordered a bagel with cream cheese. They had put on the cream cheese on the bagel themselves and boy was it a ton! I spent a long time squeezing most of it off! The second time, I ordered one of their homemade health bars. It seemed not very healthy, however, as the bar was huge and seemed to be 50% brown sugar. But it had oats and chia seeds and some sort of jam? It fell apart really easily. I will update review when I try their drinks if needed. Update: Got the vanilla chai latte and I really liked it! Takes a while in line but drink was worth the 10 or so minutes in line. 4 stars now. read more

I love this place! The coffee is great and I love the convenience of the drive thru. Service is always very fast. The employees are very nice too. I always get an iced drink, usually a latte. They are really good! Lately, however, I've seen some of the employees put the plastic cup for the iced drinks directly under the espresso machine. (They put the milk and ice in last) This causes the cup to melt, and I don't want to drink melted plastic. I don't think anyone does because it's a serious health hazard. This has happened multiple times over the past couple weeks. I did say something the first time and the girl just poured the same drink into a new cup. I didn't want to make a fuss so I just bit the bullet on that one and threw out the coffee when I got to work. The next time it happened I explained that the cup was warped. The girl asked if I just wanted a different cup and I asked for a completely new drink instead. I explained the issue wasn't the cup; it was that there was melted plastic in the coffee. She was nice and made me a new drink. I get the feeling though that some of the employees don't understand that you can't put hot espresso directly into a plastic coffee cup. That has to be put in last after the ice and milk so the cup doesn't melt. I'm not trying to bash this place because I do love it and will still be a customer. I will just get a hot drink from now on but I'm hoping this gets to someone at beanthru so they can fix the issue going forward. Edit: milk, espresso, then ice. This avoids the cup melting and the ice melting and watering down the drinks. Either way I'd prefer a watered down coffee over one with plastic in it. This is how Starbucks and other coffee shops do it. Unfortunately, custom cups aren't the issue. It's the baristas putting hot espresso directly into a plastic cup. Not a good look that you responded that you knew that you were melting the cups and gave them to customers anyway. Reassurance that there wouldn't be melted plastic in my drink was the response I expected. :/ good luck read more

They also have dairy alternatives like soy and oat milk, which is great for people like me who can't drink cream unless they want their face to look like they left it in a meat locker. Their prices are reasonable and go toward supporting local workers, suppliers, and charities. The business is double-sided, so there can be two lines at once. The staff is very polite and wears masks, which I appreciate because I have a heart condition.
