Coffee and shampoo and $10 of free casino play per guest provided at check in. The owner was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. This is not the Hilton but worked very hard to earn my 5 start rating! Conveniently located within an hour or so of Escanaba, Munising, Marquette and other day trips in the U.P. Michael was great at recommending a route for our fall color drive, too! We rented the kitchenette, with two adjoining rooms. A really great price. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans, and coffee was provided. Full size refrigerator was a plus. New carpeting and bedding - and very clean throughout. Small bathroom was clean and newly finished. Small patio sitting area outside the room was very cute. TVs in both bedrooms with cable. Dining area in kitchen for eating in, which we did take advantage of. Behind the motel is a large wooded area where we took our dog for morning walks. Very dog friendly. Michael was great at providing extra towels, paper towels and other items upon request. This is a great local motel and I highly recommend it! The owners obviously take great care in maintaining this little retro gem in the U.P.

The owners told us about 13 different waterfalls in the area, and Pictured Rocks coastline which is gorgeous! We had a blast fishing and hanging out at Kemosabe and will definitely go back! The cabins have full kitchens right down to spices and coffee! When we arrived, there was fresh-baked cookies waiting for us that were awesome! They offer dinner home-made and delivered to your cabin---we had lasagna and loved not having to worry about dinner one night. This was homey and so cool! You rock Kemosabe!

We stopped at a few in town, but found they were fully booked or more than we wanted to spend for one night. Then we spotted the sign for the Valley Motel. It looked just like the vintage places we had been staying at, and at $46 for two, it was right down our alley. With only six rooms we were worried they too would be sold out, but the owner was able to give us a room. And what a joy it was; clean, comfortable bed, good shower, wifi, frig, ice, microwave, nice size room, quiet: the best we had stayed at in our travels. Would reccommend it to anyone traveling the UP. Be warned, they don't take credit cards, but at that price I was quite happy to fork over the cash. If we ever take the northern route again we will be sure to book a night again at the Valley Motel.

We mention we saw a sign for the special and she acts like she didn't know she had this sign on her Motel's front. Well, she may not have a junior high education but we saw this as rude and she looses a star today. She agrees to $40 for the night after some bickering. This is a WIN. The rooms were outdated, but very clean and well kept. Best place for under $50 in the area I could imagine. Cable TV, 2 single beds, running water and some electricity. The shower was disgusting and hadn't been cleaned out of the fear of an STI from other patrons, who probably haven't used it in ages. She lies about the fridge, there is none. Wireless Fidelity Internets is a hot commodity up here.

If you want to make epic family memories, look no further…read more I am not certain I can iterate the whole experience here but I am going to try: I'd like to begin by saying this was not our first time using a vacation rental; we have done so many times. Each experience through reading reviews, researching the property, and communicating with the property owner has been worthy of five stars. However, I'd give this one ten stars if I could. From the beginning, the communication and organization of our reservation, planning, and execution were easy, comfortable, and trustworthy. Upon arrival, we were blown away at the property, the facility, and OMG- the views! We had a group of six adults and seven kids and there was more than enough room. It is only 30 minutes to Marquette where we found a bit of a foodie-scene, shopping, hiking and mountain biking as well as any necessities you might need- Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. The mountain biking is remarkable - one of three areas we turned pedals while we were there. A half hour in the other direction you find Munising, Grand Island, and Pictured Rocks which you can research on your own, there is too much to tell of here but we hiked an out-of-this-world waterfall, and biked some super fun trails with something for the whole family. So, back to the Lodge... If you are coming from an apartment in the city, a farmhouse in the country, or living in your van, this place feels like home. Why? Because they have it all. Anything you are looking for in the kitchen, a legit coffee maker, comfortable beds (yes, comfortable beds), cozy corners and window beds for reading, trees for hammocks, deck space, a beach, a theater, a sauna, kayaks and paddle boards for rent (way fun!)... it's all there! Oh, and if you are a sunrise person, they have 'em. Maybe you are a sunset person, they have those too! North-facing onto Lake Superior, every time you look out it is a postcard-view! We will be back!

Amenities were plentiful - TP, paper towel, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, dish soap, everything you think to bring, they already have there. We did leave the supplies we had brought up with us, but it was nice to have everything there in case you forgot something. Loved the coffee bar area and all the drinkware. Loved the surround sound system. Loved having a bonfire in the backyard. Sauna came in handy. Plenty of parking for all our trucks and trailers (8 trucks, three 2-place trailers, and four BIG trailers) The kitchen was great with two fridges, two microwaves, two crock pots, two toasters, and massive space! Bathrooms were very nice with separate shower room and two stalls & two sinks in main restroom area. Loved this place! Highly recommended for a group of snowmobilers.

We were upstairs and all rooms have a view of the lake. Complimentary breakfast was cereal, bagels,fruit, yogurt,etc. We were so happy with our stay and will definitely book again. Room left a lot to be desired. Paid $200 for the smallest lakefront room and was not worth it. Bedding was clean; however, room was not and maintenance was poor. Cobwebs in most corners and up the walls behind doors, dirty coffee pot, coffee splattered on window sill. Weatherstripping separated from door and daylight coming through, pine trim not sealed before painted so the sap is coming through, drywall coming apart in multiple areas, shower caulk and drywall separated from the shower, 1/3 of the bathroom ceiling was patched and repainted leaving the rest to not match, sloppy painting and patch not painted. Had a frig and microwave but lacking typical amenities like iron, ironing board, alarm clock and outlets. Literally one outlet available and none by the bed. TV great for the deaf because ability to turn off closed captioning was disabled. See pics for examples. I'd suggest finding other lodging. Perhaps rooms other than 125 are better. While this is close to town, there is a motel and hotel in town that are comparable to the cute outside of Beach Inn Motel.
