Showers/bathrooms private and immaculate. Many trees. Most sites are shaded. I wish the sites were a bit more level, but we were able to level our super-C without trouble. Best deal you'll ever get on firewood. If the sites were a bit more level, I'd opt for a 6-star review. Park new in 2016.. Perhaps the best kept secret in Michigan RV parks. Garbin 890 could not find it but Apple Maps did with no trouble. Satellite view on Google Maps is way out dated so don't go by that. Backed into a 72 foot site and didn't have to unhook the trailer. Some pull through site also available. We're here for four nights and looking forward to it.

There are no trees around the trailer spots, but the surrounding area is beautiful forest. There are fire pits and picnic tables. We needed a part and had Amazon ship it to the office, and we were able to pick it up at 9 PM. There are 4 clean showers and a nice bathroom. The only recommendation I would give is to add a chair or seat in each shower. The entire campground is very well maintained.

It's spacious and most sites are pull through. There are some tent sites back in the woods and along the river, very rural and pretty out there. There is no pool, playground or fenced in pet walk. What I really liked the most was the proximity to local bicycle trails located just off the park, making it easy to ride to Marquette and even Presque island. The Northern Michigan University public golf club is just outside the park. If conditions are right you have an unobstructed view of the Aurora borealis. I've seen many prettier parks but this was just right for our needs. Even though we had some rain the gravel sites didn't get muddy, big plus when traveling with dogs. Enjoy the amazing area, hike, bike, eat and enjoy nature... this park is a great place to set up and then go do the stuff you came here to do.

As other reviewers mentioned, there is absolutely no shade anywhere on the grounds, people were literally sitting outside the bathroom building with chairs just to escape the sun. There's a small playground for kids, but not much else in terms of activities. Road noise is noticeable while tent camping, so expect a steady hum of traffic. One positive: they don't seem to care what you put on your site. We had an RV, a tent, bikes, and a car all together, and it was completely fine.

We rented one of the "Tiny Homes" in the park for a week. We came up to ishpeming for my…read moregrandfathers 80th birthday. We had to bring our doggie with us on this trip. So, we wanted a place where he could hangout freely as we did our visiting. When we first got there, the first problem was that there was no air conditioning in the home. Obviously we were told prior to booking this unit there would be central air. They told us they would send somebody that night to fix it because, they didn't know how to or what was wrong with it. We waited three hours, Missed dinner with my family on the first night there, after driving 8 hours. No one showed up to fix it. My fiancé suggested that he would go buy a portable AC unit from Walmart, as long as they would take the cost of it ,off our total. They agreed. He went and got a unit, set it up. Had no issue and it started to cool down in the home. The next morning we went to the front office and spoke to Linda. Told her the AC unit was working out fine. We don't want to be disturbed with someone while on our trip fixing the central air, we have our dog there and we are gonna be in and out visiting family. She said okay. Told her we were going out for breakfast. We get a call on our way to breakfast. She said the guys are here to fix the central air. But, they have to go inside in order to do so. We said we just left, we're now more than a half hour away. We just told her the portable AC unit was working fine. We said sorry, we're not there, and our dog is there by himself. We don't want anyone in the place while we are gone. We just told her the portable is working fine, just send someone to fix it after we depart from our trip. She sent them away. After our week of staying in the tiny home which smelled like dog oiss the whole time. Seeing the loft that is covered in urine stains, marker stains, and god knows what else. They had the audacity to not refund us for buying the portable AC unit. After getting home and seeing they only refunded us less than half for it. My fiancé called and asked to speak to the owner. Linda stated that "he is a very important business man. He can't call us" my fiancé said he just wants the money back for the AC unit we bought. She said she would have to talk to the owner about it and that she would email us. We never got a call or an email. If Linda is the person you interact with at this park. She cannot be trusted. She'll take your money and run. She also tried telling us that because SHE had to send out a company to fix the AC unit WE would have to cover the cost of them coming out! Like what? We left out the part to Linda that while my finance was showering in the unit, he found multiple cockroaches. Also, that something was living and scratching in the walls. It's a beautiful "Tiny Home" but, they need to do some serious fixing to it, if they're gonna charge people what they charge for it. If I didn't want AC and I wanted to sleep with cockroaches we would have just pitched a tent.

We paid a premium for the executive pull through which was a nice size with a picnic table and fire pit and full concrete pad with a bigger yard. However we are not sure the price was worth the executive pull though slot. We would definitely stay again but maybe not pay $150/night for the same lot. There were other lots for less money that would have been fine.

I always change where I go camping to keep it interesting and this was my first time being genuinely disappointed with the grounds. The biggest shocker for me was a 'wagon full' of wood for $15!! Mind you it is not a big wagon at all (wish I remembered to take a picture!) and had about 10 pieces of long wood with the bark still on it. That's important to add cause it was still holding moisture = getting the fire going was a pain! l!! The price was really ridiculous for me, and they do NOT let you bring in 'outside' wood not on the grounds per avoiding other tree sicknesses. It became clear this site was more geared towards RV folks. We had a back in site with water and electricity--electricity didn't even work. Once we let them know they gave us an additional plug in piece for it which helped, but I could only wonder what would have happened had we decided to go more 'glamping' for that trip and were heavily relying on that box. Would have ruined the trip for sure. Bathrooms were...interesting. I mean they had them and they weren't sour smelling, but could have been set up to help keep it clean. For example, there is just an air hand dryer. To keep down some costs I'm sure but what that does is leave the sink area covered in water that splashed, making it feel dirty. I'm not high maintenance at all, but when its filth from so many other people, I get uneasy. The 'shop' they have there for things you may forgot or need or want, veryyyyyyy skimpy. I'm talking like supplies NOT in abundance, grouped together on a shelf with a hand drawn sign in front of each. Essentials yes, but have low expectations for good selection. Family run I GUESS, but I have been to plenty around WI that have been wayyy homey-er and still a good price. Definitely would not recommend unless none of this applies cause you have an RV
