Well... I knew I liked Matt Mashke as soon as I realized he was a Golden Retriever lover! All kidding aside, you can just tell when someone is a good person and will do a good job. And that is what we got with West Coast Painting. We have a two-story Victorian with a lot of detailed woodwork and they did an amazing job and were efficient on top of it. Price is fair, painting was beautiful, and Matt, as the owner showed up each day to the job to ensure we were happy. I have a historic house in Laurel Park that is tricky to maintain. It's 2 floors, all original windows (metal panes), plants all around the house, permanent awnings over all the windows. Just a tough house to paint. Matt's team was incredible. They power-washed, primed, and painted everything in 4 days, including a carriage house AND an exterior wall that wraps around the property. Very professional and very diligent. There are plants and trees hugging the house but going beyond our expectations they keep the paint off the landscape (except for maybe a drip or two). Yes, yes, yes, I had seen some of his work on large elite homes and thought he would be very expensive. Not the case, his quote was very affordable and got to the job timely. Help me with choosing colors ( painting outside of the house and he was painting the ceilings and my office for me ) -went above and beyond to make suggestions to improve The Overall appearance. If this will allow me to load up photos, you would be in awe At metal beams made to look like wood and a book case that was green and now looks like wood grain. And my aluminum garage door now looks like wood grain Ernie is an artist with the mostest! And Matt, he actually cares if a good job is done. If I could get them 10 stars I would! read more

We have been in Florida for a year now, doing extensive remodeling of our home. In Oregon, we had curated a set of unbelievably good quality contractors for all services, and have learned it is MUCH harder to find them here. We have worked with four painters now, and this one is by far the best painter - and the best contractor - we have worked with in Florida. Here are some things to understand - We think honesty, communication, and quality are even more important than price. A low price is worthless if you don't have the others. That said, this painting company is less expensive than any other and the quality doesn't suffer. The work is done fast and clean, and the workers are quiet, respectful and friendly. Matt communicates proactively at the beginning and end of the day, and responds immediately to a text or phone call if questions arise. If you have ever worked on remodeling projects, you know how important those things are. Stress will kill you and this crew was a dream to work with. Some other notes on painters - We found in Florida that painters mark up the paint tremendously, and charge you for materials based on a percentage of your square footage - not the actual cost. While we believe everyone is entitled to make money, we expected that to result in our exterior paint job exceeding $50,000 and not be bookable for at least a month. It was below $15,000 and the work was done in 3 days. I cannot recommend this contractor any more highly. We have done drywall, tile, screen repair, plumbing, electrical, furniture, and all kinds of other stuff. Next to our plumber, this contractor is our favorite. read more

Matt and his assistant did a fabulous job caulking all of our windows of a 4-story townhome. They showed up on time and worked thru lunch to finish before the rain. They were diligent and thorough, even filling cracks in our stucco and around our doors. We never thought the job could be done in a day, but they were determined to save me money on the lift rental. Matt's word means nothing. He says he will and/or can get things done but he does not follow through. In writing, he stated that he could "repair ceiling tiles to match exiting tile". It did not happen. He says he will call you back and he never does. I paid for two coats of paint and it was not done.The list goes on and on. I could never recommend this company. read more

Update. We had a few issues with some water damage, and had to have addressed as I am extremely sensitive to mold. I have to say I was amazed, not being in there Forte* they came out and eliminated the problem. Thank you read more

Contracted with Matt Mishke to paint condo. Schedule conflicts with other contractors created issues. Matt and I agreed to cancel the contract. Matt was to return significant deposit - his check bounced twice, and we have not been able to collect from him. read more
