She was the only pet my girls ever had and also the only pet my wife ever had, so she was extremely special to all of us. We asked her vet what we should do after she passed at home and they said that they could help us take care of the cremation, if that's what we wanted to do. They asked a few questions in terms of private cremation versus communal and we chose the private. We took Allie over to the vet office and handed her over without really knowing what to expect. A couple of weeks later we received a call that her remains were back and that we could pick them up. I was just so pleasantly surprised and how much care was taken and simply the packaging and presentation to us as a surviving family. The beautiful little cedar box with its little gold lock was perfect. The card to our family and Tlthe cremation certificate gave us peace of mind that Allie was treated with care and respect. I went online to see if I could find out more about Oak Hills Memorial Pet Cremation and was so pleased to see the reviews from others who had had similarly positive experiences. If you find yourself in the same situation my family did 3 weeks ago, be sure to ask your vet about cremation options and put Oak Hills at the top of that list of service providers. You'll be glad you did.

I would say it takes roughly half an hour, talking over your family pet, as they calmly give your family pet a three step process. Dr Martin was very gentle with our family dog Miles and as we spent our last moments with him, she peacefully sedated him, as well as talked us through their process. Instead of putting your dog and your family through the stresses of a veterinary office definitely give A Peaceful Process a call. You can schedule your appointment online and the will work with your schedule. This isn't the easiest review to make but when it comes to your family pets calm and restful passing, as well as your mindset going through losing wha most would say is a member of your family, this is the way to go about that.

My poor Linkin got knocked down with double ear infections w blood and puss coming from one ear…read more Linkin had been itching since the start of the warm weather. The three most common culprits are fleas, food or environmental allergies. I had knocked out the food and flea as reasons for his unhappiness by ensuring he's on a limited diet and giving him a flea product. He'd been sneezing w red watery eyes so seasonal allergies made most sense. Went to my regular vet on Thursday to get some relief and I'll just say that I was told something that I'd never heard of before and left it at that. Friday night, 11pm, like clockwork My guy is crying with his head cocked and his normally rigid ears floppy w blood and puss. We made our way to Central Coast Pet Hospital and Emergency. Thankfully there were no hurting animals this night as Linkin was given a room almost immediately. The nurse was only able to examine Linkin from a distance as he at all times will make sure there is a buffer of protection around Me and the world at all times. The nurse gave an estimate for care before the vet started. We muzzle and tranquilize to start the exam. Now this is what I loved about this experience. The vet talked to me w an easy tone, like we were two friends talking about our dogs. I shared my concerns and she validated what I was observing and complimented my care of Linkin. She treated the infection, skin irritation and his liquid filled ears in quick order. The nurse with bill in hand walked in with a detailed explanation along with amazing after care instructions. I was ok with the cost because it came in a little less than the estimation and quite honestly other than the emergency charge, my vet would have charged the same. I'm looking into pet insurance this week! All in all-we came home better than how we left but more importantly we were treated w kindness and understanding which is much appreciated. Overall Grade: A+

A very brief ultrasound was performed, which the staff said might show stones in the kidneys, but no further diagnostics were conducted to confirm an actual blockage. Despite the lack of a thorough evaluation, they immediately proposed a single, costly course of action--catheterization and hospitalization--quoted between $3,000 and $5,800. No less invasive options were discussed, and I was quickly handed financing brochures. The recommendation felt more like a guess than a medically grounded plan, and the overall approach came across as transactional rather than genuinely concerned with my pet's wellbeing. When I hesitated to consent, I was told, "If your cat doesn't have this procedure done, he will die," in a tone that felt more pressuring than informative. The entire interaction felt off--rushed, transactional, and lacking in genuine concern. I ultimately chose to leave and seek another opinion. After declining treatment, I was not allowed to see my cat until I paid my balance--only then was he returned to me. I sought a second opinion from another veterinarian within the next two hours. That vet conducted a thorough exam, confirmed there were no signs of blockage, and advised giving it more time. My cat was playful, eating normally, and showed no signs of distress--completely inconsistent with the diagnosis made by Lizzie Adam, the "veterinarian" at Central Coast Pet Hospital and Emergency. He urinated at home the following day without issue, confirming that the invasive ($3,000-$5,800) intervention was unnecessary. Worse, the medical summary from Central Coast included a claim that I declined treatments (pain meds and bladder expression) that were never offered to me. This kind of inaccurate documentation raises serious ethical concerns. I would not recommend Central Coast Pet Hospital and Emergency. In my experience, their priority did not seem to be the wellbeing of the animal, but rather the financial upsell. I encourage others to read the other negative reviews--many of which echo similar concerns. Veterinary care should be collaborative, honest, and compassionate. Sadly, that was not what I encountered here. Thank you for telling me my cat was "going to die!" He's alive and well--no thanks to your group.

Luckily, my neighbors are fostering him, but I took him to get scanned for a microchip. It was the longest wait ever. The girl at the front moved extremely slow, and she took forever to do any task. Moreover, she lacked customer service skills and was very dry and indifferent. I think working at a place like this you need to show a little more care and sympathy. Important to note that Good Samaritan drop offs are now prohibited here if you live in city limits. They will take it only if you live in county. I recently tried to surrender a dying street cat and they turned me away, I had to drive to the Fresno animal center.
