They're okay. I've been here in the past and don't really have any bad experiences per se. I recently went in because there is a little abandoned Chihuahua in my neighborhood. Luckily, my neighbors are fostering him, but I took him to get scanned for a microchip. It was the longest wait ever. The girl at the front moved extremely slow, and she took forever to do any task. Moreover, she lacked customer service skills and was very dry and indifferent. I think working at a place like this you need to show a little more care and sympathy. Important to note that Good Samaritan drop offs are now prohibited here if you live in city limits. They will take it only if you live in county. We arrived with my 13 year old dog after she got into a minor dog fight with a foster dog. She had a cut above her ear and on her ear with very minimal bleeding. After having us wait for many hours and ensuring us she was stable. The vet informed us she would need a clip and clean and could go home with meds. They brought us proposed bill with a $6K+ surgery with 24 hour observation. We told them it didn't seem necessary and was extremely expensive. After providing them a bigger, they brought another proposed bill for 3x that budget. We finally left with just the meds and sought out a second opinion from our primary vet. They found the recommended for the surgery to be egregious and unnecessary. I cannot in good conscience ever recommend this practice. read more

I had the heartbreaking decision to help my beloved 15 year old Maltese cross the rainbow bridge. The staff and vet couldn't have been more caring. Last night I found a cat that had been hit by a car, unmoving but alive. We immediately took her to a vet in Clovis but they told us to go here. Given that it was 8:40 PM, there was nowhere else to go - so we went. They were immediately super standoffish and just carried this condescending/annoyed tone with me the whole time. The process was simple, they took her back and we signed some Good Samaritan paperwork and we went home. However when we got home I received this threatening voicemail claiming that since the cat was found in Clovis it wasn't their problem and I had to pick her up, or else my info would be given to Clovis PD and I'd be charged with abandonment. WHAT??? So I save this cat from the street to keep it from dying alone in the dark, and so she might have a fighting chance, after some other person hit her and left her and they treat me like a criminal due to a line on the map? I don't have the resources or skill to save a cat's life from trauma and they were the only vet that would take her. How was I supposed to know that they only save lives if they're from Fresno? I called back and someone was very vague with me and just said they couldn't give any updates on the cat as it was now city property. Got my cats nails trimmed. They didn't excellent job. The office staff is very friendly and efficient.

My dog ingested poison and they still made me wait 4+ hours to be seen. The triage sign in the lobby says poisoning will be treated first, but they were in absolutely no hurry. After hours of waiting, when we were finally seen, the vet (I think her name was Judith) was the rudest healthcare provider I've ever encountered. She walked in and crossed her arms and said she wouldn't treat my dog until she knew more about me. She kept questioning what happened as if she didn't believe me and she had so much attitude in her voice. I could hear her talking poorly about me in the back and how badly I was caring for my dog. After a few tests, it turns out my dog's condition was urgently life threatening and needed to be rushed to UC Davis immediately. My dog was near death and no one cared and the vet treated both of us horribly. There's no reason for me to come back. read more

I'm new to the area and live close to this hospital. It's mainly an emergency facility and I'm sure everyone that comes here on the weekends, when their regular vets are closed are thankful that there's a place to take your loved one. Car accidents and major injuries are critical and I highly recommend this place for those kinds of situations. Ive come here three times in the last two years. My first experience was great. The doctor was knowledgeable and I felt well taken care of by the staff. It was extremely positive so the next time my other cat go sick I came here. Again every thing seems to happen in the weekends. Again it was a good experience even though my cat passed at home a few days later. I also go to Abby hospital and that's another topic. So the third time I came here with the same cat that had a huge tumor it again was a good experience. So now we get to this last and final visit. Thankfully I found a regular vet that was able to remove the abscess at half the cost that I was quoted yesterday. All that to say that yesterday's experience is why I gave a one star review. Dr Shaw is great, kind and she was the doctor that helped me try two prior times so this review is not a reflection in her abilities. My issue is with the staff or lack of staff. First of all I was sitting in the lobby for over an half hour because there was no one at the front desk. Eventually someone came out and I approached the desk to let them know that I was there and needed to check in. There was no one else waiting in the lobby so I figured I would be seen within a reasonable time and I was considering it was a Sunday afternoon. After Dr Shaw saw my cat I felt at ease because it sounded like it was not as bad as I imagined. The issue began when I was given the outrageous estimate on the procedure. Granted I understand that it's an emergency hospital and their prices are higher than a ordinary vet. So once I was given the estimate I wanted to use my care credit card and I still don't understand the reason that I could not use my care credit and my visa. They wanted me to pay in advance for the higher estimate and insisted that that was my only option. I chose to leave and find another place that could help my cat. Hopefully a place that didn't charge $1500 and wanted me to pay upfront and only use my care credit which had a balance of 1000. I was told it was their policy, which is why I'm giving this rating. I think it's a dumb policy. all this was very upsetting but the worst part of all is that I was told that I was leaving against doctors recommendation, which made me feel very bad, as if I was a horrible person that was not tending to my lovely pets needs because I was not able to pay $1500. I went home and cried all night and during the night I found a vet sent them an email asking for an appointment for the removal of the abscess the following day they called me they gave me an 11:30 am appointment at half the price and I'm happy to say my cat as well. So my point is that unless it's a life and death situation, I would not use this place. It could wait till you see a vet. read more

I would leave NEGATIVE stars if I could. We had a cat that had suffered a pretty significant eye injury, but he had been making great progress. It was healing, he was eating and drinking, he was playful and spry. Yesterday afternoon he had been outside, he loves being outside. When he had come back inside it was obvious something was very clearly wrong. He was obviously in pain and was letting out low groans, he didn't want to be touched and was just laying around. My fiancé was on his way home after my daughter and I discovered the kitty like this, so once he came home we didn't hesitate to make the decision to take him to the vet. 24/7 pet vets was recommended to us after the first initial vet we contacted told us they were completely booked. My fiancé packed up our kitty as comfortable as he could in the cat carrier and headed to Fresno (we live in coarsegold; I had to stay behind because we have a 2 year old who was napping at the time). My fiancé and kitty get the 24/7 pet vets. They were seen pretty quickly. My fiancé called me several times to keep me informed with what was happening. We were told is would be X amount of dollars for the visit and to be quite honest, we didn't care we just wanted our cat to be seen and hopefully cared for. They tried to insist our cats eye was messed up because of a fox tail, which we knew that wasn't the case, but we let them run their test anyways. They had sedated him, ran their test, came to the conclusion the injury was due to a cat fight (which is what we assumed) and they offered ointment as well as an antibiotic shot. They also "drained" the fluid/puss/ blood from his eye and well... that was it. They insisted he would make a full recovery and sent them home... Now my cat was bleeding profusely right when he was handed back to my fiancé. There was no bandaging, no one offered to clean him up, he was lethargic (which could be from anesthesia I'm aware), but in my opinion how could any vet see an animal in that condition and just send them on their way home? No full examination, no offering to monitor him over night or at least a couple of hours...just said he will be okay and that was that I guess.. Our cat passed away only not even 6 hours after he and my fiancé returned home. My daughter was in shock saying he looked like he had his eye ripped out. I couldn't even look at him because he just looked.... Terrible. My fiancé even said that on the way home while we were on the phone together that yes he was alive but he just looked... dead. We wanted him to be as comfortable as possible, with a quiet environment and no other animals or kids could bug him (we have 2 other cats, a dog, and our two year old). My daughter offered to set up a bed for him in her bedroom so she could comfort him and keep an eye on him. Around midnight I checked on my daughter and our cat and he let out a few more low groans, obviously in pain again, but this time he was having a very hard time breathing.. we were thinking (and hoping I guess..) that maybe he was just feeling the pain and coming down from the anesthesia... we aren't vets so we don't know? Around 230am my daughter woke me up in hysterics saying he wasn't breathing... when I checked out the cat yes, he was gone. Idk honestly this whole situation was just heartbreaking and traumatic for my daughter especially. She had a very kind and nurturing heart and this was just devastating to her. Again, we knew something wasn't right anymore, but e didn't care about the cost of the visit for anything we just wanted them to try to save our cat. We hoped we could trust this place, but instead we were completely failed by the whole situation.. our cat was so bloody he was almost not even recognizable.. Idk what else to say, for all of us it was honestly just a horrible situation. Our cat didn't need to suffer like that, even if he had passed away there at least we would have felt like "okay they cared... okay they tried their best". But that just wasn't the case for us.. we don't know the actual cause of death, but I know in my heart it wasn't because of his eye. As I said before, his eye and his spirit were healing. Something else had happened to him but I guess we will never know now.. I'm not one to leave negative reviews but this one I felt was necessary.. I don't want to see another animal suffer like that, or have another family go through a situation like that, especially a little kid seeing their baby die like that (this wasn't just a cat; he slept with her every night and she even had a little special hair brush he loved to be brushed with...). So please if you have any other options in an emergency situation, look into other options first. Hopefully future pets will at least get the care they deserve.. read more

Saved my cat's life! I brought my cat in about a week after being hit by a car and having his jaw dislocated. (Another emergency vet in town did the procedure to realign the jaw.). The problem was his jaw still wasn't fully closing and so he couldn't eat or drink properly. We were feeding him formula by syringe in the mouth, but he still wasn't swallowing most of it. The first emergency vet refused to see him again and referred us to UC Davis. They said it would probably cost $15,000 to save him. I couldn't afford this and took the cat in to 24/7 Emergency Pet Vet in order to have him euthanized. The attending vet was so kind and really tried to understand the problem first. Tried to get him to eat. We were relieved to hear that, in his opinion, the jaw had not become dislocated again as we feared. He told us not to euthanize the cat yet because he thought he still had a fighting chance. He said give it a few more days to see if the swelling goes down and he regains the ability to chew. He was right. The cat was sloppily slurping the formula from his bowl in the next few days, and soon regained the full use of his mouth. I'm so glad I didn't euthanize my poor kitty. And the whole process only cost like $150 dollars. Nothing like the $15,000 estimate that we had been given from 2 other vets. Despite my grief, I want to write this as soon as possible so I don't forget how much appreciated the staff and services here. Late Wednesday night we rushed our beloved Alex cat here. Unfortunately, he passed away on the way to the facility. We had called on our way to let them know our cat was convulsing and we were en route. When we arrived, they immediately buzzed us in the locked door. There was a sign on the door stating masks required. When I said I thought Alex had already passed, they whisked him away to confirm and showed us into a room. I cannot express how much it meant to not be left in the waiting room (there were a couple people there waiting on their pets). You don't think about those things ahead of time, but looking back in it, it's the first of many considerations they gave us. Throughout the hour or so that we were there, the doctor, assistant and receptionist treated us with so much care and understanding of our grief. I am really grateful. Our Alex was a loved member of our family and these people understood that. We knew to come here because at the start of the pandemic, my mom and I brought her sick cat here and we received good care with detailed instructions and information for her vet during regular visit. They definitely follow COVID protocols so be prepared to mask, social distance, limit persons who can accompany your pet, etc. read more

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this place. I had to bring my almost 12 year old bully Hannah in last night because she could not keep down any food or water. Everyone from the receptionist to the tech to the Dr. we're very professional and we're very attentive to my girl. Is it expensive? Yes. Emergency vet care is very expensive, that was expected. She was given fluids and medication for nausea and got blood work and X-rays. The Dr. figured out it was acute pancreatitis. I took her home after a few hours and she is doing much better today, thankfully! If you need to take your pet in after regular vet hours it is going to cost a lot more than going to your regular vet office during business hours. That is the entire point of having emergency vet clinics, some things can't wait until the morning and you have to pay for that service. Right off the bat we were met with attitude from Precious (who I assume is a vet tech but she was at the front desk) another lady had brought a dog in who had been hit by a car and said to the tech i hope this poor baby makes it' to which she replied WITH ATTITUDE "well we're going to euthanize" when they finally told us we can bring the cat in. I came in and asked if they would help us bring the cat out of the car because we did not want to hurt her anymore than she was already hurting, to which we were met with attitude again "we'll be out in a while.. maybe a few minutes" after 10 minutes it was precious, who came out (mind you there was two people at the front desk) she roughly put a muzzle on the cat and covered it completely with a blanket and practically manhandle the cat then said to us "you're free to go" to which my wife replied we're going to stay we want to know what happens and see this through. She told us because we signed the paperwork she would not be able to tell us anything that happened with the cat, to which My Wife replied, you just told somebody who brought in a dog in that wasn't hers you were going to euthanize" she then replied well if you really need to know, we're going to euthanize with an immense amount of attitude.
