I had been wanting to get a really good safe for quite some time. Costco usually has a couple of them for sale, and I also checked out safes at Turner's Outdoorsman and Bass Pro Shops. The salespeople at those places only knew that what they had were safes (gosh), and then they'd just read what was stickered to the inside of the doors. I'm so thankful that my brother told me to take a look at West Coast Safes. All they sell are safes. Not safes and shotguns, and ammo, and fishing gear, and sleeping bags, and tents, and hiking sticks, and flashlights, and Coleman stoves, and jackets, and hats, and so on. They sell one product, safes, and they know their stuff. I'd say that they had at least 150 different safes on the sales floor, and the prices ranged from about $500 all the way up to $65,000. It was the bedside finger-opreated ones, to gigantic ones that diamond stores need in order to be insured, and everything in between. Anthony was the one who helped me out. That guy knows his stuff, up one side and down the other. He answered all of my questions, and then started asking me questions that I never would have thought to ask. I was there looking at safes for well over an hour, and he was never pushy in the slightest. I probably asked him a few repetitive questions, because there is a lot to take in and remember. He was really patient with me as I was narrowing down my choices, one by one. Then I'd change my mind, and he'd offer some advice. Then I'd change my mind again, and I can tell you that Anthony has a lot of patience. I finally settled on a badass Liberty. Then we talked and talked about the dial. Old fashioned dial, or modern electronic? That was a whole other 25-minute conversation. I went with the old fashioned dial, and it looks amazing. I also bought a striplight kit, and that was a piece of cake to install myself. There's a motion dectector in the light kit, and when I open my safe, there's about a two second delay for the lights to come on. So you open the safe, it's dark inside of it, and then BOOM, the lights come on. Gawd I love it. It got delivered by two guys about a week or so later. I wish I remembered their names, as they were really cool, professional, and you could tell by how they communicated with each other that this is some serious stuff. It's almost and 800-pound safe, so ya, it's some serious stuff. I'm sitting here, looking at my safe, and I'm thinking what a huge mistake it would have been to buy some basic safe from a totally unknowledgeable sales guy at a sporting goods store, or worse yet, ask questions from a Costco employee who spends most of his shift getting shopping carts from the parking lot. I've had my safe for about a month. I'm still thrilled that I've got such a badass safe. Absolutely happy, very content, zero regrets. I like Costco, and Bass Pro is amazing, and Turner's is cool. Do NOT buy your safe from those places, though. Don't. Get your safe from this place. The peace of mind is worth every penny. read more

Garrett, Casey and Steve-O did an amazing job delivering my 3400 lbs safe without damaging property. It took about two hours to do the installation properly and was white glove delivered. Let me start of by saying Casey at West Coast Safe was extremely helpful and assisted all my questions regarding the purchase of my safe. However his delivery guy, Gary was awful and rude. When he arrived he wanted to drop the safe off and block my my car in the drive way. I asked him to move the safe just 10-15 feet off to the side so I could use my cars before the safe was installed. He immediately wanted to charge me 100 dollars to move the safe over. Keep in mind the safe was already on the dolly all he needed to do was move it. He started being rude to me and said I had got a good deal on the safe, inferring I was cheap for not paying for the install as well. After some arguing they finally came to their senses and moved it out of my driveway. The safe buying experience was 5 stars but the delivery was 1 star at best. My older Liberty Safe had a combination lock on it and if I or my girlfriend tried to open it, it always seemed to take forever and if we didn't turn it 3 spins this way, 4 spins that way, we ended up having to try multiple times, which over the years has become frustrating! I don't want to sound like an ad, but West Coast Safes installers were fast, friendly, and efficient. The arrived right on time at the pick up location, beat me to the delivery location, removed my old safe and drilled and bolted the new one in place in under 20 minutes. And the guys were nice and friendly. They even replaced my combo lock battery at no charge. They had battery operated tools including vacuum and a pallet jack and tail gate hoist. They were in and out faster than I could be ready for them. We purchased our safe from West Coast which had good prices, and offered me a fair price for my trade in. After some online research and reading some reviews my wife and I drove out to West Coast Safes with an idea on what we wanted. We arrived to find a clean and well organized store location. We were greeted in the store by Anthony who was pleasant and extremely helpful. He talked us through the differences in the various safe companies from top to bottom. We were leaning towards a safe that had jewelry drawers in it. He pointed to another safe, exactly the same, but without the fancy drawers that saved us several hundred dollars. Anthony was polite and professional and absolutely not pushy in any way. The safe we decided on was not in stock, but a shipment was on its way and I was promised one that was incoming. I left a thirty percent deposit and we headed home. About 10 days later I got a follow up call from Anthony that the safe had arrived and he wanted to schedule a delivery date. We set that up and a delivery crew arrived last week. Discreet unmarked truck. Our Delivery guys Luis and Stevo called to say when they were in route, and arrived within the original estimated delivery window. The guys were efficient. Unboxed the new safe, leveled it, and bolted it to the floor. They went over the instructions and operation of the safe and its features. The guys made sure we were able to operate it and advised the importance of registering it online. They cleaned up after themselves, shook my hand and were on their way. I cannot say enough good things about this company. They were about a 55 minute drive for me but well worth it. It seems a lot of people on Cal guns and in the community recommend this place. I can see why. They have an amazing selection. And you can go and play around and check out saves in person or you could buy them on line. In person they have better deals I think. I got a blemished superior safe with a two tone cherry color scheme. The blemish is literally a run in the paint on the top of the safe and not really visible. But I said quite a few bucks purchasing the safe as is. It looks siiiiiiick!! I have bought a safe from a competitor that's closer to me but this was the deal for me. When I saw this safe a light from the heavens shined down and I felt it's glory!! I'm happy. My only gripe was that it took like two weeks to get my safe.
