Just got my Brown Jordan patio furniture back (4 pieces) and it looks like it is straight off the showroom floor! Absolutely perfect finish. There was even a bit of a bend and a break in one of the pieces and they did a fantastic job repairing it. These pieces are about 40 years old and they are picture perfect today! I never imagined they would come out looking this good. This is definitely one of those instances where "you get what you pay for" and this was worth every penny. read more

I would not recommend this business for anything. They are dishonest and unreliable. They accepted my shower door frame, told me it would be ready in one or two weeks. Creeping up on four weeks now. Every time I called to inquire, they had a different excuse. Basically lied at every turn. I was told last Friday it would for sure be ready on Monday. Monday has passed, today is Wednesday and they say it's now ready. Due to the numerous lies, I am not confident in their work and wouldn't be surprised if the coating fell off on the first use. Brought 2 rod iron chairs and a small table that I made to have sand blasted and powder coated and when I droped them off the owner told me 12 weeks. I thoght that was a crazy amount of time to complete a small order and couldn't believe it would take 3 moths to complete. Used a semi popular color and 1 month later still waiting. They took my 306 dollar half down payment and still own the balance. I will never use them again because I do railings and hand rails and usually use a powder coater in Oakland who turns my work out promptly to keep my costermers happy. I brought the chairs there to spuprise my mother in-law who has been away. They told me thats not going to happen. Thats fine but, just not using this over priced rediculus amount of time to coplete a very simple job company again. read more

10 months ago I brought my Broan vent hood into West Coast to be stripped and Powder coated.. West Coast gave me a 2 week turn around time for pick up and the price (Combined with a friend's 280Z rear Louvers) was quite attractive at $ 180 for both!! 2 weeks later my buddy picked up his louvers and the next day I went to get my Vent Hood. The Owner (Kyle I think it was..) pointed out some inperfections and small globs on the front of the hood and stated that he wanted to re-do the hood as it was not acceptable workmanship. I concured and gave the front desk girl my business card to call me when it was done. 3 weeks later no phone calls, so, I decided to swing by and bring some other car parts in while I was at it. I was shown the hood and it was immediatly obvious that nothing had been done at all!! I dropped the new parts off, filled out new paperwork, and gave another business card to them. 1 month later, no phone calls, and I had to call them to find out the hood and parts were ready. Show up, parts were ok, (They did not remove hardware and powder coated over all fasteners!!) Checked out the hood and again, NOT DONE!! Rediculous!! Gave a third business card, was promised againThey would call when it was re-done. This time I gave them 3 months before totally pissed off I had to call again!! The gal on the phone blamed everything on previous bad help and told me she would check on the hood and call me right away. 1 week later, a call back!! the woman stated she found the hood in a back room and noted it was not re done but she would take care of everything!! Needless to say, NOTHING HAPPENED!! I went in last week to Fire West Coast and get my money back.. The owner had his guy take me to where the hood was, stating it was done and they couldn't find my phone #.. (REALLY!! 3 cards and paperwork, can't find my #!!) The hood was still not acceptable!! they wanted to re-do it again!! No Way!! I asked for my $$ back.. Being that my buddy paid the $ 180 on his credit card I asked for the vent hood only portion back in cash. The counter guy went to the owner and returned with $50!!! REDICULOUS!! The hood has to be re-done and for my almost year of poor service he offers $50!! He wouldn't even talk to me in person.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!! Yes, first review is right. STAY AWAY from this business! They do not know what they're doing and they overcharge and they do NOT get things done on time. How much worse can it get. There's no customer service nor skills nor expertise. We brought metal railings to have them powder coated. First they said work will be done in 2 weeks. Its been almost 2 months. work is still not done because they made a mistake and they didnt even bother letting us know before we drove an hour to Concord! all for nothing! I had to call our friend to come help solve removing railing rings because they DON"T KNOW how to do it! OMG! Took my HiPo exhaust manifolds to have them ceramic-coated. The service cost almost as much as my exhaust manifolds. The duration of service was fine...it took two weeks. I found the price a bit high...but I suppose that's what ceramic-coating costs. The result? Excellent job, not only are they are now more protected from rust, but they looks much cooler painted black. Gotta give them five stars for the end result, despite the cost. read more

They tell you a price on the phone and then they increase their pricing once you are there, they tell you it comes with two year warranty against workmanship, and then when you are there they deny it. Several years ago, I need to have my Tropitone deck rockers restrapped. We took them to West Coast Specialty Coating company. The fellows did an excellent job in providing the color to match the house and also did an outstanding job in restrapping the rockers. They looked beaufiful! After several years of being weathered on the deck, one of the straps on the rocker broke,, but the rockers still looked great! I was thrilled to find this company was still in service. When I called to see if they could repair my one broken strip, the person was very professional and patient. He quoted me a modest price for fixing it. I had someone else take it out to be repaired, and he again reported how personable and skilled they were in repairing the broken strap. The cost was very low, so i called and left a message as to how pleased and grateful I was to get such wonderful service! I hope others get the same kind of service from this company, for it is getting more rare these days. I am thrilled with the result and so appreciative to WCSC!! read more

I called and got a quote for some motorcycle wheels. When I went to drop them off, they quoted me a higher price. I explained the situation. Turns out they accidentally quoted me for automotive wheels, which are a lot easier to coat. Long story short, they honored the original quote, stuck to the time line (10 working days) and the final product was excellent. The coating was flawless, they masked all of the bearing pockets and mating faces for the brake rotors. They even masked the washer surfaces under the sprocket bolts. They did an absolutely excellent job and left me NOTHING to complain about. Will definitely use them in the future. Thanks! read more

I have taken automotive parts here multiple times over the past couple of years. They have done a great job each time. Expect 1-2 weeks turnaround which is typical of this industry. They are open on Saturdays for half day eventhough yelp hours say closed. read more

I had two pairs of headers receive a ceramic coating treatment here many years ago. I recently contacted West Coast to have a pair of stainless headers receive the same ceramic coating. The woman who answered the phone was very friendly and knowledgable however their prices have gone way up. They are far out of line with what other shops are charging. I'm taking $100 more for the same service. Not right to gouge folks like that. After talking to and visiting several other shops in the Bay Area I decided to go with Accessories Plus in Belmont. They are a ways away from the 925 but I had a few job sites out there so it worked out. read more

West Coast Specialty Coatings picked up two patio chairs for recoating and restrapping on 3/4/21. They told me 12 weeks for turnaround. It's now mid-November and I have yet to see my chairs. Since Aug they've been telling me I'll get them back next week. In Oct, they told me that the legs of the chairs are rusted and they are having a difficult time deciding what to do. At no point have they ever called me. I've been the only one communicating with them and I have had a difficult time getting my phone calls answered. In Oct when I finally got someone on the phone and heard about this rust problem for the first time, 7 months after they picked up the chairs, I was so fed up with the situation that I told them to just do the best they could and return them. As far as I know, the rust situation happened at their shop. No rust was noted when they picked them up and the other two chairs in the set, which I still have, don't have any rust. Again they said I'd have them back in a week. That seems to be their standard answer, one week. It's now been an additional five weeks and I left a message today on their answering machine. They have $360 of my money and my chairs. I doubt I'll ever see either my money or my chairs again. Thoroughly disgusted with these people. They have never bothered to call me during the more than eight months they've had my chairs. I've always been the one calling them. Very poor customer service. No follow through. This place is a ripoff. read more

My 22 year old patio furniture looks brand new. I was on a wait list for 6 months to get it done but once they picked up the furniture, it was returned in 2 weeks. They required a 50% deposit which seems odd since that just gets you on a wait list. Price was as originally quoted and the staff are all very pleasant. read more

March 26 West Coast picks up 13 pieces of wrought iron patio furniture. I was told the finished product would be ready in 10-12 weeks - but probably sooner. Cost: $2,294.85. Fast forward 12 weeks. No call to set up delivery and no call to communicate the progress of the job. I call. I am told they are overwhelmed and hope to have my job completed in another 2 weeks. Two weeks pass. No communication. I call. They are still not working on my furniture! I tell them I have a party on July 7th and must have the furniture. They will do their best! I call on July 1 as I am still not receiving communication from the office. A new person answers and tells me they will try to have the furniture finished but can't promise it. I go semi-ballistic! I ask for the manager who assures me the new girl is not up to speed and the furniture will be completed and delivered on July 6th. "Don't worry" Too late!! Furniture was delivered in the afternoon on July 6th. Not apology or compensation from the management! The delivery crew were very nice. I felt sorry for them because I was not the only unhappy customer. The finished product was lovely. Would I call them again? NEVER! Would I recommend them? NEVER! Too costly. Poor communication. No skills in scheduling jobs. read more

3months ago under the recommendation of several clients I went to wcsc to change the color of the base of an old barber chair I am restoring. I was told that it wasn't a problem as they had done several in the past. My base is porcelain so it could not be powder coated but was told it would be heated glazed and re coated as porcelain. I was told it would be ready in a week. The next week I dint receive a call so I went down to check. I was told it hadn't been done but would be finished by the following week. I called in and was told there was abackup and it would be ready next week. 3 weeks in I receive a call saying it was complete. I went down only to see that my chair was completely chipped gashed no longer smooth and chipped. I went back in the owner Kyle said it was a bad job and his guys screwed up. They sandblasted and painted the base. He said he would fix it no problem. (21/2) two and a half months later after several calls with no call back, several visits Kyle says he found a porcelain guy and he would have him fix it. I then stated that I need to be compensated because it didn't seems though this would be resolved he pleaded with me to give him a chance a see if this would work. 3 weeks later still no base, no call , no effort to rectify the situation . WARNING TO ALL DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS!!!! Unprofessional never on time can't deliver and their word is not worth anything. read more

However the staff/owners really went out of their way to help us and point us in the appropriate direction for our project. Contact them to paint my garden 4 chairs and two tables that have been in the family since before WWII. The had rust all over. They did an excellent job repairing the metal, replacing bolts, and bending back the backs, and finished on the time they had predicted (4-5 weeks). Price was right, not low cost nor very expensive. I have used WCSC for many years. I build formula cars and do restorations (Over restored in most cases) Motorcycles, Boats and odd equipment. EVERY Formula car frame (Maybe 8 of them) came out like show paint. They are PURFECT! My Factory Road Race Bike (1980 TZ 250) came out PURFECT! I currently have a vintage Motocross bike I am restoring. The frame and small pieces are done and ready for pick up, On time and I expect them to be the same show quality I have gotten for many, many years. IF I have one complaint, it would be price. You pay for what you get. There are cheaper places if you don't care about the powder coating staying on, or chipping. I always do what I can to bring WCSC CLEAN parts. The cleaner they are, The easier it is for them to sand blast them. read more

I went to WCSC 2 weeks ago and dealt with Kyle to have some window frames and roll cage done on my Hot Rod in High Gloss Black, got it back sooner then I was told, it is absolutely Beautiful, all the parts look like they have been dipped and still wet. I'm not easily impressed, but when I saw the work they did, I was blown away, can't say enough good about them. I will be taking some other parts to them to be coated. 5 Stars Big Time....
