Best Library in Cobb County, HANDS DOWN!…read more Over the last 6 months I've been spending time at various libraries throughout the city and surrounding areas, and I tell you nothing compares to The North Regional Library in Kennesaw, GA - Cobb County. I've been doing some market research on how to start a business and the library is a one stop shop for all of my needs. The building is bright, airy, and spotless--with large windows that let in lots of natural light and plenty of comfy seating around . There's a great children's section with learning toys, a clean and welcoming teen/young adult room, plus a dedicated makerspace and a fully stocked computer training lab. I even brought my daughter and granddaughter here and they actually learned a lot and had fun. Plenty of study rooms--perfect for group work or meeting quietly--are available, and the outdoor plaza is a great spot for programs or just chilling with a book. Free Wi‑Fi, public computers, printing, scanning, and copier services make it super convenient whether you're a student, a freelancer, or just wanting to browse. What really stands out is the staff--they're welcoming, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. Shot out to Sarah, Alice, Alecia and the entire team over there. Whether you need tech assistance, program info, or a book recommendation, someone's there to answer your questions. I didn't feel intimidated at all when asking questions. All in all, whether you're bringing the kids, getting work done, getting away from the kids, or diving into a new hobby, North Cobb Regional Library offers everything--and the vibe's just right. From the employees to adult patrons, they speak in voices as if they were at an outdoor venue and patrons in study rooms holding audible, lengthy conversations on their phones. Should you be inclined to visit this library to study or simply to read a book, be sure to bring earplugs or wear noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs.

If you live in the are you can join the Friend of the library for $35 or $100 for a lifetime membership. It's a bargain for what you get and the rates have been the same for at least 20 years or more. Not only can you borrow any books in the library but you can also request an interlibrary loan which allows you to borrow books from other libraries in the GA university system. I've been here many times. Not only do they have books in English but they also have books in other languages such as Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and Portuguese. The staff here are also awesome! Lots of fun to talk to and always go overboard to help me with any projects I'm undertaking... As far as parking in concern it use to be you can park in the closest parking lot but those days are over. I've heard the tickets are steep these days $75. You definitely want to park over in the visitor's parking but the prices aren't too bad... the first 30 minutes are free, $3 per hour. I think that it is a great asset that many non-students are not aware exists for their use as well. We were looking for a copy of my husband's great, great grandfather's will. We had tried to get the book from the Atlanta library on two occasions. The first time, they sent the wrong book and the second time as we appeared in person, they stated that the book was "missing". In the mean time, I decided to call the Kennesaw State LIbrary. I was able to find the book, after some persistence ( it did not come up by title, but author so be aware of this) and was told that I could come in as a guest to make copies. I would have to get a K card and load it up like a debit card and would be good to go. We arrived at the library on Monday afternoon and proceeded to get the card, (the machine is in the library), but there was a glitch. My husband was sent to another building to address the problem. While he was gone, the sweet and helpful library assistant retrieved the book. Twenty minutes later my husband arrives with an assistant who helps us carefully make the copies we needed. Apparently, they weren't able to correct the card problem so she used her code to assist us. We obtained exactly what we needed and my husband was elated!!. My husband is a very simple, patient and humble guy. He had been looking for these documents for quite a while when I decided to quietly assist him. He was VERY appreciative and anyone who makes my husband happy is definitely tops in my book. Thank you.

This KSU location is where Southern Polytech use to be. The two schools merged in 2013. With over…read more35,000 student enrollment it's the 3rd largest university in the state and one of the largest in the US. This location is off of South Marietta Parkway and Technology Parkway.Nearby businesses includes the Greyhound bus station. It's not as big of a campus or as crowed as the main KSU campus which is actually a good thing. The main campus can be a complete zoo and parking can quickly become nightmarish very quickly. Acworth bookstore is more than a bookstore...it's a community gathering place...I came by to check…read morethe place out because I had heard about it for a long time and ended up spending nearly 3 hours here! It's located in downtown Acworth in a building that can be dated back to the civil war...I believe parts of the building has been rebuilt but the ceiling I think is original... The bookstore covers mainly the civil war, WWI, WWII. The owner was very knowledge about not only the history of Acworth and Marietta but also has an encyclopedic knowledge of WWII...it was fun chatting with him. They carry lots of books and art works by local author...in fact when I was there I met one of the local artist who has several of his paintings hanging in the bookstore. They also feature locally roasted coffee in their cafe....very cool.

After the session, I asked what advice he would give a KSU student considering transferring to SCAD. Before I could even finish my question, he interrupted me with, "Why would you do that?" He then spoke dismissively about SCAD, including its transfer policies and cost, while acknowledging that he didn't know its current credit requirements. What bothered me most was that, rather than focusing on what would be best for the student and their education, the conversation seemed to become about defending KSU by diminishing another institution. There is absolutely nothing wrong with explaining the strengths of your own program, but students deserve thoughtful, objective guidance, not an attempt to make another school look inferior. I'm a SCAD student myself and transferred from a two-year college, with nearly 90% of my credits accepted. When I shared my firsthand experience, it was brushed aside. Academic leaders represent their institutions. This interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional, and unfortunately left a very poor impression of KSU. My son watched it all and was shocked about the lack of professionalism. For that and other other reasons, he won't be attending KSU.
