It wasn't that long ago that Johann Gutenberg (1440 AD) invented the printing press. Before then…read moreonly monks and wealthy men knew how to read. So what Gutenberg did for the common man was he leveled the playing field-similar to the way technology has done today. Once people could read..better... put their thoughts into words...ah the pen became mightier than the sword. It gave rise to the average man. No longer was power and privilege locked in by blood. It was by words. It was the printed words that allowed a little German monk from Elseben, Germany named Martin Luther to take on the mighty Roman Catholic Church. It was also the printed words that allowed a little known school teacher from Thetford, England named Thomas Paine to take on the mighty British Empire. Of course lets not forget it was words by a red headed lawyer from Virginia named Thomas Jefferson that gave birth to this nation that we are lucky to be living in now...whatever they may say it is not only a privilege to be able to read but it is our duty not only to keep but protect this right. This is why libraries are so essential in every community. Books-the printed page are the memory keepers of our species. They tell us where we've been so that we can know where we're going. This little guy is located in the corner of Hickory Flat Road and East Cherokee Dr. It's a small library but it packs a punch. Upon entering one is immediately drawn to the stain glass like dome ceiling at the center of the library. There are big comfortable couches with large windows allowing the natural light to brighten the atmosphere of the place. They have at least 20 computers for patrons to use along with a pay as you need it printer. Its' a great place to browse and to study. I highly recommend it...

Our little local library is exactly that: little but local. As a GSU PhD student, I'm not rating…read morethem for access to research databases or availability of every book known to man (although with inter-library loan, I'm sure their holdings are quite impressive indeed!). What I do know about this location is that they have a great selection of children's books and activities designed to help kids become comfortable with reading, learning, and local community development. My toddler and I have been going to story time this summer, and it had been a great experience. My daughter now loves the experience, even though she's not super attentive for every story (I mean, she's two - that's part of the territory). I'm glad our area library provides so much access to these programs, and I hope my daughter grows up loving reading just like I did, getting excited for new books each week.

Unfortunately we can not recommend this school due to the living quarters. There have been multiple…read moreproblems with mold. First on the walls and floors of both bathrooms in the dorm, then an air conditioning leak that was neglected which revealed more mold! Now my daughters room is infested with bed bugs. Not only can we not receive a call back from Dr. Mallard but this is the third time my daughter has had to move out all her belongings in one semester. When you are being charged $10,000 a year for room and board it should at least be safe and not make the entire dorm sick!

I am thoroughly disappointed in their leadership and guidance team. My daughter attended this…read moreschool as a Freshman 2015 and she immediately fell into the wrong crowd. We noticed this immediately as she found a group that had drugs inside of the dorms on a regular basis. I reported this immediately to Dr. Lee and he acted as if he cared but nothing(literally nothing) was done to intervene. My daughter missed classes and according to their rules, a student is reported to the dean after missing 3 or more classes. My daughter was never reported. I also brought this up to Dr. Lee. Again, nothing happened. This school has a very nice campus and I think it is in a decent area but if you are looking for a support system for your child, this is not the place. They act as if they care about your child during orientation and that there will be numerous resources available but this is all smoke and mirrors. I am not blaming my daughters choices on the school but as parents, we intervened and expected some type of help as my child was on their campus. No help whatsoever. Do your research before you pay $25,000 to this school.
