I love this school very much since I will be graduating from here.. but DO NOT live on campus they won't provide any reasonable accommodation and anyone dealing with housing will bug you about every little thing, even things that aren't their business. Classes are hardly ever open, majority of the teachers have really bad ratings and you have no choice but to get stuck with them just so you can graduate on time. This school is growing too fast. There aren't enough teachers for the amount of students that go here .. I do not regret making my choice to go here, but I do regret living on campus worst decision ever. read more

KSU does not care about the students and their ability to pay for courses only configuring generic responses with the insult of lack of commitment to resolving issues its horrific I enrolled for three courses I could only afford one so I dropped the other two and because I did not pay the full balance for all three courses. I am a nursing graduate from KSU and honestly... I loved it. KSU (like any college) has its pros and cons. But for a mostly commuter school, it's fantastic. You're right near Atlanta if you're a city person but just close enough to north GA if the mountain life is your thing. Greek life is very popular here (if that is a priority for you). Making friends here is so easy and there's a place for everyone. The student body at KSU is very diverse and culture-rich. Most professors are great with the exception of a few bad apples. I've made lifelong friends and memories here and I would definitely do it again. I also encouraged my husband to enroll online while he is in the military. Thankfully, KSU is very military friendly and welcomes him online with open arms. read more

I'm surprised this school has only 3 reviews and a 1.5 star rating...lol. How this school has grown over the years. When I was growing up KSU was referred to as the "13th grade" or Harvard on the highway...sorry, but it is true. But now a days it's become not only a top state school but a force to be recon with. The campus is changing but compare to other schools in the metro area it's still a commuter school which means compare to a school like University of Georgia-there is less of a cultural community which I know is changing. For a lot of high school students this is a great school to earn AP credits and I know lots of kids who got their first year of college completed here all the while they were in high school! One interesting fact I found out about KSU is that they are one of only two programs in the US that offers doctors who went to a non- US medical school and are in good standing but want to practice in the US to become certified. It's sorta cool. I've taken many supplemental classes here and studied music with various professors here for over a decade. The only reason I'm taking off a star is...sorry don't hate me but your parking situation is really frustrating. I know it's not the school's fault and over the years they've built lots of parking decks to accommodate the growing number of students attending this place but still if I can give one advice it's get here early...for your class, for your event, for whatever it is you are doing. Be very careful with these thieves. We paid a $200 deposit so my son would have a dorm room, but they never reserved him a room and he was left out in the cold. Housing in the area is very expensive and was not an option. Then they refused to refund my money, and claimed that it was not a guarantee of a room. The reservation deposit obviously has a different meaning for them. read more

My daughter is a current freshman and living on campus-For over a week her AC in her dorm has been out(it is the hottest week on record for GA) and someone brought a portable AC and stated someone would come back out-My daughter had to call for someone to come look at it and he advised a part would need to be ordered-Called a few days later and no updates available as no one at 470 578 8663 option 3 could locate a ticket and advised my daughter and/or roommate would have to go to an off campus housing location-This is beyond ridiculous that no one can locate a ticket but yet someone came not once but twice to their room- read more

I have tried applying multiple times. When I call, no one seems aware of my previous attempts or what I have done so far. I'm not confident in their customer support. It really reflects poorly on them as an educational institution. The phone staff says they will submit my requests, then I don't hear anything. I call again and it like they have never heard from me before. I have to start over. They seems to have little or no communication between the customer service phone support staff and the rest of the departments. Where is management? Do they know there is a problem? Do they care? I have to seriously consider if I'm going to try any longer. I would rather apply to a school that seems to know what it's doing. read more

This was my first time on KSU campus. I was pleasantly surprised by how many buildings and how clean it was. The one thing I didn't like was the lack of visiTors parking. So after I parked and walked a mile I made it to the student center where they had a nice food court and media center. Nice campus with an up and coming vibe. read more

This "university" is such a joke it's not even funny. I beg of you don't go to this rip off sh*t show. I came here from a small local Technical school that was labeled as an "easy college". This joke of a school makes that Technical school look like Georgia Tech's 3.9 GPA little sister. The professors here are horrible, I don't learn anything, the classes are stupidly boring, and everyone passes with an A or B. One of my classes at this "university" I was able to finish 9 weeks of homework in 1.5 hours and the grade on all that homework was 100!! I took a specialized computer class and have learned nothing at all. I actually started a job in the industry and learned more in 1 hour than I did in 25 hours in class. This school also will make you look like an idiot. That computer class is somewhat required for my job and my company expects me to know the information that they are told is in that class. The problem is that it isn't taught or used in that class except for 3 little homework assignments. I got 30 seconds of instructions on the system that I now have to use every day but of course I don't know it so my job is having to train me for it. So if you want to over pay for an education worse than a public high school diploma than by all means come here to KSU. read more

Kennesaw State is that school you go to when you're like "eh.. I guess I'll go here". No ones dream school is KSU, and never will be. It's a nice school, the campus is nice, and it's in a good area, but that's about it. It's just a school for mediocrity. You go here with a "C's get degrees" attitude and come out to get a mediocre job and that's that. This isn't a place you go to follow your dreams. If you have actual ambitions in life and can afford or are able to go somewhere else then you probably should. There are some things like the nursing program that are pretty good but other than that yeah I don't know what to tell ya. Also, good luck making friends here if you don't already know people here from highschool. This isn't the school's fault but EVERYONE at KSU comes with their highschool friends and attaches to them like a newborn baby to their mother's milk ripe tit. Even if they don't have highschool friends to go with they will find some old friend from fucking 3rd grade or something and be friends with them again before trying to make a new friend. If you made new friends at KSU that you didn't already know you had to not only have been lucky, but definitely had to put as much effort as it would have taken for Helen Keller to win an escape room by herself. But hey who am I, right? Am I just some sad minority who wants to take a dump on the school that took my money. Yes. But is there also some truth to what I'm saying. Absolutely. Jokes aside it's a not a bad school and not very difficult. It was a good start for me in maturing and I had some fun here and there. I applied to the school and I like to keep communication open, please stop hiring students to answer the phones and stop making everything a secret here. They have this thing that they no longer do learning support you have to score high enough on the Accuplacer to be placed in college level courses (my concern was Math), I inquired about what was the scores you needed to have, of course the child on the phone doesn't know and didn't even attempt to find out, then proceeded to tell me that learning support is only offered to incoming freshman (applicants just graduating high school) and not to non traditional students who have been out of school over 10 years ( which makes no sense at all). I asked well what happens if you don't score high enough, she proceeds to say in a condescending way, "well you just have to keep taking it, most people come in with SAT and ACT scores," maybe you should inform the children you hire that after so many years those scores are no longer valid. read more

Kinda hard to make a review but I'll make it pretty short. I transferred here my junior year, in 2015. I had visited before because of a few friends and family but that's completely different than actually attending. KSU is huge but so gorgeous (in comparison to my previous schools and many others in GA). We have about 36,000 students (they tend to not cap enrollment) due to the recent merge with Southern Polytechnic State University, and so there are two campuses. One in Kennesaw and one in Marietta. We are a commuter school. That's just how it is and how it'll prob always be. Parking is also horrible. Anyone and everyone will tell you that. Student life wise, it can vary. It just depends on your classification, involvement, and expectations. Point blank, as all schools, KSU has it's ups and downs but it's an overall great school. I can say I'm glad I chose to make it my home institution and will be graduating in May. Go Owls! read more

As a whole, the college is pretty good. The faculty more so than the board or president. As a transfer student from the University of Tennessee, I can say that the parking here is so much better than it was at UT. Parking passes are relatively cheap, you can appeal tickets and most of all, you can park pretty close to your class. At other universities, you're assigned a specific lot that may be very far from class/dorm and you're paying 100s for it. There are plenty of different courses within each major. They're still working out a few kinks since they've almost doubled in size in recent years. So it's not perfect but most colleges aren't. Tuition isn't too bad for instate. Their big issue right now is meal plans, as everyone is required to get one as a freshman, even if you're a commuter. They were sued over this, corruption was found and now it appears as though the dining solution should be fixed sometime soon. In regards to other reviews about this school, yes KSU has student activists. Whether you agree with what they did or not, you're going to find that at every college. It's not helpful to judge a college based on the actions of a few students, but it does help to evaluate how the school responds. If you agree with the way they respond to certain things, great! If you don't agree, either choose a different school OR come to the school and then take action and get involved in student groups that lobby for change. Overall, I enjoy going to this school and am impressed by most of the professors working here (every school has a few bad eggs though). The only thing I can't speak on is the housing since I never lived on campus. Hope this review helps. read more

Would not recommend this to prospective students. They do not regulate the amount of incoming students. There are now too many students and not enough classes, teachers, or parking. Also, the advising center is abhorrent, the man behind the counter had a shitty attitude and was on the phone, kept me waiting for 15 minutes to just check me in (which takes 5 seconds), made me late for my appointment, which, they or anyone else failed to make it public news that a certain Advisor's office had been moved to a completely different building. There were also 4 other employees sitting around on their phones while a line of students piled up for their appointments.. I felt like I was waiting at the DMV. To anyone about to enroll, getting the classes you want when you want is nearly impossible, let alone parking, which you'll want to arrive at least an hour before class starts due to how bad traffic and parking is around campus. total nightmare for students.. can't wait to graduate!
