Great selection wine and spirits - truly a local gem. Great prices and the do some great mark downs on the wines. They always have some sort of tasting going on, really nice people no matter who I've spoken to. Also very knowledgable at least with the wines and if they don't know, they'll find someone that does! If they don't have what your looking for just ask, so far they are two for two = didn't have what I was looking for so they ordered it - came in the next week and what do you know I'm walking out with my bottle of wine that they haven't stocked since 2012 (no problem). Next time, it was just my bad eye sight, wasn't exactly the type I was looking for but when I clarified - he asked someone and in less than 3 minutes I had exactly what I was looking for (as well as a new one to try) - great customer service = good up-sell as well. Another potentially great suburban liquor store that makes the poor decision to infuriate potential customers by marking up sough after spirits to preposterous levels. For instance, today on the shelf we had a bottle of bourbon I would love to get my hands for the holidays that had an msrp of $130...the asking price $1,000. Are you kidding me, $1,000? When are the owners of these stores going to realize that this bottle will collect dust on the shelf while infuriating customer after customer? The money lost from the patronage of these potential customers always outweighs whatever crazy markup they may eventually make on these bottles. If you want to be a jerk, be smart about it and go sell that bottle on the internet. If not put it in the shelf with a respectable markup and let people enjoy it with their friends and families for the holidays as the distillers intended. read more

We bought the beer and wine for our wedding reception from West Concord Liquor. Chris, who handles delivery orders, helped us out a lot. He made some good suggestions for beer and wine, and let me taste whatever I wanted. He communicated well through the whole deal, as well. They delivered our order on time on a Sunday morning, and everything was cold and ready to go. They picked up what we didn't drink and charged us for what we did, and the price came out to 5 or 6 dollars a guest, when we were expecting to spend 10 per. Chris really helped me stay within our budget, and I would work with him again in a second for another event. read more

This is an awesome store with some of the best and knowledgeable staff I have encountered. The wine selection was great and very varied. I liked the wide range of selections that were available in every price range although the store is totally jammed. So I think finding things without asking is probably not an option. Although browsing through them was a lot of fun. It reminded of being in a used book store. The beer selection was also great. They had a wide range of beers including many I had never even heard of. The prices were pretty low as well. The staff's knowledge was really amazing and they all had really great attitudes. I even had a funny conversation about the Harpoon Oyster Stout which I bought with them which we were all talking about who came up with the idea to brew a beer with Oysters in it. The liquor selection was pretty good and included a really wide range of bourbons and whiskeys. They looked to have many hard to find items, but I did not see everything I was looking for. I will definitely be returning here for the beer and wine selection and the great staff. read more

My boyfriend shops here all the time, at least a couple trips a week, and he NEVER gets carded. I step foot in this place to try and buy a little whiskey for my Saturday night and they refuse to sell it to me! You see, I got carded. I'm 30, and look it too! Evidently don't accept out of state IDs at this establishment. I get the feeling that this selective enforcement is designed to prevent delicate ladies from making the grave mistake of fouling their precious fragile bodies with delicious delicious bourbon. read more

Found West Concord Liquor on the interwebs when looking for a bottle of my favorite tequila. The store had one bottle in stock, in the generous 1.75L style, and it was on sale to boot! The gentleman behind the counter and I struck up a conversation about good music released the year I was born after he checked my ID. Nice experience. Fast forward one week. The wife and I need a bottle of orange liqueur. What the heck, let's take a drive to West Concord. It's a friendly little shop. My wife noticed that my tequila is gone and asked an employee stocking wine if they still carry it. He said they sold out and probably won't continue carrying the brand because it sold poorly. Wife (sweetly) Well if you do get it back in stock, we'll buy it! Employee (sarcastically) Yeah you're in here all the time. Me (under my breath) Not anymore we're not bub. Liquor sells itself, so maybe it's not necessary to treat customers with respect. But sweet pretty ladies always deserve respect. read more

Quaint, excellent prices and wonderful selection of affordable wines to the very select. Joe's great idea........offering under $20.00 wines that are in the top 100 of Wine Spectator's yearly list. Makes it very easy and with a good description of the offering you can pair up what you like with what they offer. This is a very small store with a very large selection and both Joe and Chris will offer expert recommendations and an enthusiasm for the grape that is second to no other. I really like brousing but I also enjoy good recommendations to add to my cellar and Joe and Chris always put something aside for me to add to the collection. I really recently enjoyed a MacRostie Chard that was so crisp and fresh that I will continue to purchase it at just a touch over $20.00 per. Used to come here all the time with a fake ID and never had a problem. Good selection and friendly. Now 24 and with a real NY license I came here to buy some beers while visiting family. Guy behind the counter took one look at my NY issued drivers license and told me to get out. They have a completely arbitrary rule of not accepting ANY non-MA issued licenses. This is not a law, just something they have decided to do. Seems like a dumb rule when you can use a FAKE MA ID but a REAL out of state ID gets you thrown out and embarrassed in front of the other customers. Everything arrived without a hitch (even the ice!) and we had plenty of drinks for our guests. They also delivered and picked up any unused items. They do not accept out of state licenses or IDs. Which is bullshit because the first I came to this liquor store, my card was accepted but this second around, the old man refused to even pick up my card and check its validity. I'm well over the legal drinking but being made to feel like my ID was not suitable enough for this establishment just because it is not a MA ID is unacceptable. If you're visiting from anywhere that is not Massachusetts, don't come here because they won't accept your VALID license or your business. And they will be rude about it. Have a good day. read more

This small family owned business sent their son, Christopher, to California for several years of in depth, boots-on-the-ground wine education and it shows! Francona couldn't quite put it together this year and that made the beer selection at WCL that much sweeter. The store has a great selection of top shelf hard stuff that will get the job done when you're really bummin about Tom Brady's knee or that Pike commute this winter. Their business cards say it's "the place to go when your spirits are low" and if that ain't a damn good advertisement for getting your drunk on, I dunno what is. As the name says, it is a packie in the old-school sense. But being that this is chic-chi Concord, the selection is pretty extensive, not all of it top shelf, and the prices are only a buck or two over what you would expect to pay most other places. read more

I've been here many times and think it's a great store. They have a great beer selection whether you like big-name stuff, imports, or craft beers. They are also supplying some alcohol for my wedding and Chris was really helpful as we were planning. Just had the worst experience at this store ever. I will not return. Just got off my shift at a neighboring store and 9pm. Its snowing and the streets are covered in sleet and ice. The owner is at the register ringing up the last customer (my coworker) and refuses to let me in. I am a regular customer and very upset that I had to drive to Acton under these terrible road conditions. I understand that when a store closes everyone wants to go home, but not on a Saturday night @9pm. I would never ask a restaurant to cook something for me several minutes prior to closing... but some Beer? Terrible business practice!!!! This store will never ever see my business again. The guys at Colonial Spirits know what customer service means! PS they lost a $160 sale as I had to buy some gits as well. Economy is apparently on an upturn!! read more

This is my husband and I's regular place for a bottle of wine or beers for big dinners etc.. My husband and I go in regularly and we always get carded (rightfully so!) one day my husband wanted to stop there and get beer for himself so we strolled in all smiles having a nice day. My husband presented the beer to the (usual) man behind the counter. He carded my husband, and then asked for my ID. I told him my wallets in the car. He proceeded to tell me to "get the hell out". Mind you- this man cards me every week when I go in.. And even tho I was just accompanying my husband he carded me- ok- then told me to get the hell out. We ordered two kegs from West Concord Liquors for our wedding party last summer. They were great to work with, answered a lot of questions, and had a good selection to choose from. They delivered the kegs right on time and helped us to set them up, which was great since we were slightly clueless. I was in Concord, visiting my family from Vermont. I stopped here to pick up a some beverages to bring with me. I had stopped there before and it was lovely. Unfortunately, this time, I was rudely and inappropriately berated and refused service, as I have a Vermont license. I found the situation offensive and embarrassing. This kind of harassment should not be tolerated. How our tourists supposed to buy beer on their summer vacations? What a poor business model. This place is elitist and awful!! I will never return.
