West End Bakery is hands down the best around! Everything is delicious, and the staff are always so friendly. I always leave with a smile and something tasty to enjoy.

I live in Oregon, my son lives in Mishawaka. I wanted to have a birthday cake delivered to him so I called West End bakery. I inquired if the deliver and the lady who answered the phone indicated that they do not. KATHY the lady that I was speaking with must have heard the disappointment in my voice and then asked about his address, it isn't far from the bakery and she said she would deliver it herself!! Mind blown!! She was so kind and went above and beyond!! My son said the cake was the best he has ever had too!! Thank you Kathy and West End Bakery!!

They recently reopened and I'm so glad! Thankfully the old bakers were contracted to train the new and keep the original recipes. They have a variety of amazing treats daily and some on specialty days. They offer Creme Horns on Thursday's. Saturday they offer Mastallen bread. All the doughnuts are are wonderful, as is the French bread. I prefer the almond cups over the almond squares. The Mastallen bread is sweet, but very tasty as a toasted ham & cheese sandwich. My dad loves the almond joy cookies. They can have long lines sometimes, but they're definitely worth it!

After a long drive from Indy, we got to the funeral home in Mishawaka a bit early and needed something distracting to take the edge off a bit. Literally across the street we spotted "West End Bakery" and felt drawn to explore. It wasn't past 8:30 AM but the place was busy -- a great sign! This little bakery was opened in 1928 -- a cool bit of trivia considering my aunt whose life we were celebrating that morning was born a year later, in 1929! How cool. Anyway, the donuts are FANTASTIC. We bought 2 dozen, trying to get a sample of whatever was recommended to us by the helpful employees. Highly recommended.

Great bakery! You know a place is good when it doesn't matter that it's 7am, there's still a line out to the door.

A local gem. Love the crullers, Old fashioned donut (blueberry if they have them!), apple fritters, and ice box cookies.

Ah-mazing donuts! Will rate a 5 depending on how their cake tastes (when I get one)! Great prices. Even better donuts.

Best bakery you could go to. Fresh traditional doughnuts and soft cookies. They do wedding and birthday cakes that are amazingly tasty.

The staff was very attentive and answered all our questions about what each thing was. There were so many items to choose from! We chose a variety of donuts and pastries to let the family try a little bit of it all. Loved the pie squares and the light glaze on them, not too sweet. As we were leaving the crowd was getting bigger and you could smell the delicious food which makes me think we need to come back for a panini soon!

Let's start with the sweets because honestly, that's still this place's strong suit. I've grabbed…read morecookies and random goodies from the case before, and they've never missed. Today though, I walked in thinking this might be it... my hunt for the best fired pizza in South Bend might finally be over. I saw the giant pizza oven and thought, "yeah, this is about to be serious." So naturally... I stayed for lunch. It was busy, but the self-serve kiosk made ordering easy. I went all in Pepperoni Pizza, Cheesy Garlic Bread, Chicken Noodle Soup, and Shrimp Diavolo. For a packed lunch rush, 15-20 minutes wasn't bad at all. Now... the pizza. I wanted to love it. I really did. But it just didn't show up. It was pretty bland overall, and most of the flavor came from the cupped pepperoni which tasted like something you'd grab off a store shelf. The sauce tried to make a comeback, but it got completely overshadowed. The rest of the food? Honestly solid. The Chicken Noodle Soup hit the spot, and the Shrimp Diavolo was actually really good. So yeah the pizza hunt continues. The oven might look impressive, but it's not ending anyone's search just yet. But the sweets? Still a slam dunk. -The interior was clean and the seating area is large.
