I love my donuts and there is none better than here. I have family in the South Bend area, who alerted me to this place and every time I'm there I have to stop by. Their freshly made sweets, especially donuts and the like, are fantastic. It's a small place, which does endear you to images of yesteryear, when places like this were plentiful. Now that all of the chain grocery stores have some form of dessert section, these places are few and far between, sadly. If you get there early you are sure to not be the only one. I've stood outside a few times waiting in line to get in. Mind you, it doesn't take long, however. It's not as if I was waiting for an hour, or something crazy like that. The best bakery on earth. The raison bars are the best and no one makes them anymore. That can be said for a lot of the Old fashioned great things that they make. Also it is the most reasonable bakery. You don't break the bank when you get a birthday cake. It is a very intimate place and closes at 4 everyday so don't miss out but they open at 7.I drive over an hour from Michigan to go there. I never seem to be able to go enough. I freeze many things so I can have them later. I try to talk them into having a branch in Michigan! Cops and Donuts did that all over Michigan. They bought up old bakeries everywhere. These are literally the best doughnuts I've ever had. And I love doughnuts so I've had my fair share (and somebody else's share too.) It opens at 7 and I arrived at 6:50 (I thought it would take longer to get there from Granger). There were already people waiting outside the door for it to open. I thought it had to be some kind of joke. Who waits for a doughnut shop to open. Then I got worried that this was going to be one of those trendy 4 dollar a doughnut places. Oh no. Delicious. Fresh. The real deal. THE best place to go for awesome donuts!! The Blue Berry are to die for. We love the location and prices. This area of town is how life/neighborhoods were prior to the '70's. I've always loved their donuts, and have ordered delicious specialty cakes and cupcakes. Every Easter I always intend to order rolls for Easter dinner and every year I forget. This year I was told if I got there first thing in the morning on Friday I could get some rolls as they usually make extra. I arrived about 20 minutes early in case there would be a line. I was safe to wait in my car as there was no line, and I was scrolling thru Twitter when an employee approached my car. She asked if I was waiting for them to open and she said there was no need to wait, she would let me in the employee entrance. I was completely flabbergasted at this act of kindness as they let me in and bagged up fresh out of the oven rolls for me. I even picked out a half a dozen donuts to go, and was out the door before they opened at 7 AM! This is a great local place with delicious product and excellent customer service - they make you feel like family.
