Is like to see more cake donut selections, but I tried their vanilla and blueberry and the flavor for both was amazing. They were moist and perfect crumbly texture makes them addictive. The price is $18.50 for an assorted dozen which with the size of these donuts 1 dozen might as well be two dozen. SHUT- UP single serve milk in glass bottle $3.50 just take my money. I went there as they stated they had gluten free donuts...what a joy...a bakery with a good donut for once..NOT! They went to the freezer and brought back two Katz donuts. I kid you not...I paid over 5 dollars for 2 crappy frozen grocery store horrible donuts. the owner chased me out to my car as i completed a delivery and yelled at me assuming a situation, when her in house customer insisted on cutting me off to for fill his timely needs and i was told boldly her in house customers will always come FIRST. An average donut. First off, my fiancé and I prefer cake donuts and as they only had 2 types of cake donut and the rest yeast, by the time we got there at 11:30, they were out of cake. Otherwise of what we got, the chocolate frosting was good, the Bavarian cream was good, the lemon curd was average. Our cinnamon roll donuts hardly had any cinnamon and the donut itself was really dry. Inside the place looked cute with lots of potential but was empty. I was very rudely informed, AFTER we purchased our donuts that my dog was not allowed in the store because of the food. my husband informed her that my dog was a service animal. We drive over from Riverside to get some Sunday morning coffee and donuts. The counter workers were very helpful. We picked out a dozen and also got a bag of 24 holes. The applesauce cake donut and tiger tails were great. Not a huge fan of the red velvet. It looks good but the flavor isn't good. Everything was fresh and selection was plentiful. I like their coffee. Seems to be just processed food. This was my first time to Jack's. I asked about their famous blueberry donuts, and the employee said "well, let me look in the back to see what they sent me." Clearly very little time goes into making the donuts anymore; they are nothing special --- far too much sugar just like any other place. We looked forward to our first visit to Jack's. We heard some good things from a friend who had eaten at another Jack's location. Unfortunately, South Bend Jack's is a disappointment. It was a quiet late morning with only two other customers in the shop & two people behind the counter... both seemed to have better things to do than wait on customers. One looked at us then went back to doing something with their back turned to us. The other gave us a lackluster greeting as they put on gloves... LITERALLY like this: *deep breath* "What can I get ya?" We ordered, took our half dozen donuts to the car, & my daughter (who is 11) broke the silence with "what was THAT guy's problem?" 15 minutes later we're home, and my wife was the first to bite into hers. Her face said it all. She reached for her coffee and chewed... swallowed... and said "omg DRY" and that, generally, sums up the experience. Not one of our donuts (and they were all different varieties) was fresh. Jack's, you are supposed to do two things - make an excellent donut & serve it to your customers with hospitality (or, at least, some level of appreciation). I received neither and won't go back.
