Dr. Debbie Smrz actually was able to ELIMINATE my foot pain completely! Here's my story: About 14 months ago, I went to the Urgent Care Clinic barely able to walk. I was diagnosed with a severe case of plantar fasciitis. It was so painful, I could barely walk. I sought treatment at a podiatrist who promptly prescribed orthotics and stretching. Nothing helped. After 6 months, the podiatrist decided to try cortisone shots in my foot. If I rate my pain prior to the injections, I would give it a 10 on a scale of 10. After the second round of injections, my pain went from a 10/10 to about an 8/10. Better...but still AWFUL. I was no longer going to the gym, and I was spending a lot of time sitting. I started gaining weight. I was told to exercise to lose the weight, but I couldn't put weight on my foot. I tried the stationary bike; the recumbent bike - but still a lot of pain. I only exercise I could do with minimal pain was swimming. And, frankly, not owning a cottage or a pool made this exercise very inconvenient. So I arrived at Naturopathic Living Medical Solutions for my initial assessment about my overall health. I wanted to feel better; sleep better and have more energy. In the assessment, Dr. Nadine Cyr asked about physical ailments. Plantar fasciitis, I responded. Have you tried BIOPUNCTURE, she asked? Bio-what? I had never heard of it. I was told it was one of the services the clinic offered. Dr. Cyr told me that her colleague, Dr. Debbie Smrz, has been successful in treating people in pain with biopuncture. As I was willing to try anything, I agreed. I made an appointment with Dr. Debbie for the following week and in less than 5 minutes she had injected my foot with some homeopathic substances. Immediately she asked if it felt better. Ummmm...maybe a bit? I wasn't sure. Two weeks later I came back for another treatment. It is feeling better, I said triumphantly. I think the pain is only at a 6 or 6.5 out of 10 now! I am so happy! Dr. Debbie thought it could get better. After treatment #2, I really noticed a difference. I went for a walk around my block without any pain. I no longer limped when I got up from the sofa. My boyfriend even commented that I no longer asked him to rub the bottom of my foot to relieve pain! I went back to Dr. Debbie for a 3rd treatment - but as she watched me walk to her office, she asked me if I needed more treatments. Then it hit me: I hadn't been in pain for a number of days. We had a really informative and helpful one on one zoom call about 1.5 months prior to my due date, but they were answering my questions in our group WhatsApp chat from the moment I signed up! They always responded so promptly, and put our minds at ease. I had a c-section scheduled, but went into labour two days before! So Kristi was able to help guide me through the symptoms and contractions and advise us when we should head to the hospital. After we came home, we utilized them a LOT for all our baby questions from sleep patterns, rashes, breastfeeding, anything! We upgraded to have our lactation specialist come into the home and help us - 100% worth it and we still refer back to what we learned with her. Kristi is well versed in breastfeeding techniques, so helped us keep up with things - and when our baby cried straight for two days, was able to advise us over a call that the baby might still be hungry and need top ups, and solved our crying baby! We used our last session for an in person visit with Kristi, so she could meet our baby (lower risk times) and still she helped us with gas issues/ideas to help baby, etc. I cannot recommend this service enough! I'm a first time Mom, and having them in my corner was the best thing I did for myself and my family. Do not hesitate to hire them - even virtually - because they really do go above and beyond and it's a wonderful experience.
